Battler: - Danger Zone
Battler Season 2
Ryo woke up to silence.
White walls. Dim lights.
Aiko sat beside him, eyes tired but focused.
"You're alive," she said.
Ryo swallowed. "Kenji… where is he?"
Aiko hesitated. "Gone."
Elsewhere, deep beneath Tokyo, Kenji walked alone through a sealed Dunzen tunnel—one officially marked FORBIDDEN.
The air was thick with negative energy. Each breath burned.
"Turn back," a distorted warning system repeated.
Kenji ignored it.
His right hand glowed faint red.
"Why now?" Kenji asked inside his mind. "Why did you choose me?"
Baran's voice answered calmly.
"Because you fear becoming weak more than becoming evil."
The tunnel opened into a vast chamber.
Chains of crimson light bound a shadowy figure at its center.
Baran.
Not fully formed—but terrifying.
"Your team will die," Baran said. "Not today. Not tomorrow. But soon."
Kenji raised his sword. Flames flared.
"And if I accept your power?"
Baran smiled.
"They might live."
Silence stretched.
Kenji thought of Ryo's burning body. Aiko collapsing from overusing her healing. The civilians who never made it out.
He lowered his blade.
"What's the price?"
Baran's eyes gleamed.
"Your future."
A symbol burned itself into Kenji's right palm—red, pulsing, alive.
The Dark Contract was sealed.
At that exact moment, Aiko gasped back at the medical center.
She felt it.
A shift in Karma. A corruption.
Kenji emerged from the Dunzen hours later.
His presence felt… heavier.
When Ryo finally saw him, he froze.
"…What did you do?"
Kenji looked away.
"I made sure this never happens again."
But in the shadows of Tokyo, something else awakened.
Enemies were no longer hunting Battlers.
They were hunting Kenji.
And the danger zone had officially begun.
