Battler: - Danger Zone
Battler Season 2
Rain poured heavily over an abandoned underground facility on the outskirts of Tokyo. The place was old—used long ago for experimental Dunzen research, now forgotten.
Kenji stood in the center of the dark hall, surrounded by cracked pillars. His sword was planted into the ground, flames flickering weakly.
Ryo was already sweating, his Max Bone active.
"Again," Kenji said.
Ryo charged.
His punch was fast—strong enough to shatter stone. Kenji sidestepped and struck Ryo's side with the flat of his blade, sending him sliding across the floor.
"Too predictable," Kenji said.
Ryo slammed his fist into the ground, breathing heavily. "Damn it!"
Aiko watched from a distance, eyes closed, sensing their Karma flow.
"Ryo," she said, "you're forcing your power. That's why it's unstable."
Ryo laughed bitterly. "Easy for a healer to say."
Suddenly, Ryo's body trembled. His skin flushed red.
Kenji's eyes widened. "Deactivate. Now."
"I—can't—"
Ryo collapsed.
Aiko ran forward instantly, green light enveloping her hands. "His internal temperature is too high!"
Kenji knelt beside Ryo, gripping his shoulder. "You don't need to surpass me," he said quietly. "You need to survive."
Ryo's eyes fluttered open. "Then… make me stronger."
For the first time, Kenji saw it—not anger, not jealousy—but desperation.
Aiko finished stabilizing him and stood up. "Kenji… this is why teams exist."
Kenji clenched his fist.
At that moment, the lights flickered.
A chilling presence filled the hall.
A distorted voice echoed from the shadows.
"So this is the vessel…"
Kenji's blood ran cold.
A familiar, hateful energy crawled up his spine.
"Baran…" he whispered.
In the darkness, two crimson eyes opened.
"And soon," the voice continued, "the world will remember fear."
The real danger had begun.
