Chapter 10 - SUDDEN CHANGE

Exactly as he had said.

Williams stayed on the bed with no positive effects to what had just happened.

The wound was still open and dry blood still circled it.

No scalps, well at least none to Arnold and Victoria's understanding.

It was odd to see Williams and Favour lay unconscious on the bed for the second time.

It didn't take long though before Williams woke up and started to move.

"Di.. Did it work?".

The two exchanged glances before Arnold finally spoke.

"Sorry dad, but no!".

Williams rested his head back unto the bed.

Not unconscious but dumbfounded.

His eyes brows leaned closer together with his mouth wide open.

He turned around and his gaze immediately caught the line of sight of Favour.

"Look what she had to pass through to save me", Williams roared.

"All to no avail", he then added.

Williams sat up. A feet he hadn't reached in a long time.

It had been almost four days since the day of the gun shot.

Williams had made exceptional progress concerning the wound directly at the rib area.

In an instant, Williams stood, as though his body forced him to do something that he couldn't.

Arnold looked in disbelief eyes wide open.

So did Victoria.

They had never expected Williams to get up without groaning, definitely not without the required treatment or proper healing.

Williams seemed disbelieved too.

He walked around and only experienced minimal pain circling around the wound.

Victoria jumped for joy.

Another miracle.

Arnold knew that this was not any normal coincidence.

Something logical would have led to this event taking place.

Williams and Victoria did not seen to care.

Williams occasionally held tightly his deep wound but could still walk around with better ease than before.

His clarity in speech had improved and the sudden reduce of pain was shocking for everyone.

Everyone except Favour, who still laid on the bed motionless.

Victoria had diagnosed it as exhaustion and would be back to her feet if she gets the proper rest.

All eyes were now on Williams, the walking miracle.

Arnold though, focused on something different.

Favour.

"Is it possible that the instant healing ability affected Williams leading to his sudden reduce of pain?", Arnold questioned himself.

Staring at Favour couldn't give him an answer and looking at Victoria and Williams made him keep a straight face.

He brought out his notebook, tapping his pen across his chin as if he was looking for what to say.

Williams caught sight of him and noticed his bitterness.

He walked over.

"What's wrong?", he asked with his soft arms carefully placed on the soldier of Arnold.

Arnold turned to face Williams looking at his wound.

"How do you feel it is possible for your wound to suddenly have a release in pain".

Curiosity filled the eyes of Arnold as he patiently waited for a response.

Williams walked over to the bed as he still couldn't stand for long.

He tapped on the bed, gesturing for Arnold to come take a sit beside him.

"I have no idea how this happened, but if I were to guess; I would say it was your sister".

Arnold nodded in agreement.

"Why else would she have felt so exhausted afterwards if in truth, nothing changed".

Arnold thought rationally, while Williams concurred.

They both concluded that this had to be the work of Favour. The instant healing may not have had a direct effect, but it did do some positive things on the wounds of Williams.

Williams sighed looking at Favour.

"My sweet angel", Williams then gestured towards Favour.

A faint smile appeared on the face of Arnold as he wrote down what he and Williams had agreed on inside the notebook.

Arnold then shifted his gaze toward Favour.

The red light had completely dimmed out.

The mark almost nearly invisible to the naked eye.

Many more questions still bottled in the mind of Arnold.

Many questions that he doubted even Williams would know the answer to.

He tucked the notebook away and went back deep into thought.

Finally, after minutes of celebration and dancing, Victoria arrived back at the scene.

"So, you hungry? Can I get you anything to eat?!", Victoria asked the feeble Williams who held Favours arms, feeling every finger.

"No need. I'm good".

A noble response was said by Williams who still looked at Favour.

Victoria had gained a bit of weight since the faithful fight with the doctor.

She looked chubbier than before with her stomach petruding through the red top that she wore.

Her eating schedule had gone off the charts and this truly affected her body and her nutrition.

She urged for Favour to not get crowded in order to speed up the recovery.

The horror days for Victoria were almost certainly over.

Arnold still kept a keen eye on the eyes of Favour and noticed slight twitches.

Only he had noticed it.

It didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary for Arnold.

Arnold picked up his notebook and walked over to where Williams sat.

Another question had emerged in his mind.

A question that he believed Williams had the capability of answering.

He cleared his throat before he spoke.

"Do you think it is possible to use your abilities while unconscious", Arnold said, getting the attention of Williams.

Williams turned around, witnessing Arnold beside him.

He didn't get the opportunity to speak before Arnold continued.

"In the case of Favour, is it possible for her to use her instant healing ability to get herself conscious as soon as she fell unconscious".

Williams locked into the eyes of Arnold in which he saw his reflection.

He knew Arnold was curious but he didn't know that he was paranoid for Art Users.

It felt like a shame that he wasn't an Art User himself.

Williams knew that this was one of many questions that Arnold had in his tiny head about what he had experienced.

The thought of what he might then be writing in his notebook was too much for Williams to bear.

He saw the curiosity right through the cold face Arnold always kept.

Curiosity beyond his limit.

He dare not speak though. Arnold finally began to open up to him about ideas, event and prospects and he could not stand to let it end.

The best thing he could do as a loving Foster Father was deal with it.

"Well, to my knowledge, I don't think you can use your ability while unconscious.

If that was the case, then Favour would have been ecstatic and energetic by now", Williams jokingly said still firmly holding onto the hand of Favour.

Arnold nodded in agreement as he always did.

He stood up from the jumbo bed and walked back to the corner of the room.

He took out his notebook and jotted everything down.

Williams focus remained on Arnold as he slowly shaked his head.

In that instant, a sudden vibration of the hand of Favour forced him to immediately let go.

Arnold's heart raced as the stares now shifted towards Favour.
