Chapter 12 - MEETING HIJACKED

Boom

Derek barged into the office of the head of department.

He failed to beat about the bush, jumping straight to the point.

"Those Art Users are a force to be reckoned with. One of them, resulted in the murder of the surgeon", Derek said while dropping the file on the table.

Officers immediately rushed in to restrain him.

The head of department glanced at him in silence, only exchanging blinks.

Raphael didn't shake.

He didn't gesture.

He just placed his hand on his chin providing support.

Finally, the first action was made.

Raphael grabbed the file from the table and slowly flipped it over looking at the information on it.

"I will see to this", Raphael smirked and gestured for Derek to leave.

Derek eyes burned.

He left the office.

Williams still didn't rest on the case.

In fact, it had given him sleepiness nights.

He didn't take it likely for people who tormented with his family.

A plan was brewing in his mind, a wild plan.

About three days later...

It took about three days before Derek was finally called back into the office.

"Your case has passed the first contradiction", Raphael commented.

"A meeting will be held about the case tomorrow night, where if agreed, it will be proposed as a law", Raphael then added.

Derek smiled.

"Thank you".

Derek took out his file and walked back to his station.

He couldn't wait for the day to arrive.

He felt like having Art Users around the city posed a threat.

Williams failed to sleep during the night and woke up very early the next morning.

It wasn't long before Victoria realized the situation.

She had already drew worried after the first encounter she established with Williams.

Her mind never set. She knew how worried Williams always got whenever she or Favour got tormented by anyone.

Williams walked over to the living room where Victoria stalked him.

He turned on the television.

An immediate frown grew on his face as he read through the daily news.

"The Federal Bereau Officing Department(FBOD) have declared a high ranked meeting to settle the case of Art Users being banned from the city".

Williams exhaled loudly, much to the hearing of Victoria.

He felt so annoyed that he could punch the television.

"This cannot stand", Williams then roared to himself.

"I must do something about it".

A moment of silence before Victoria at that moment jumped into the scene.

"Williams, you need to calm down", Victoria faintly said trying to not wake up the kids.

As it had been for the past three days, Williams ignored her not saying a word.

His blue mark failed to dim.

Victoria couldn't do anything, but witness it all go down.

Arnold, for the first time failed to notice the situation of Williams.

He hardly noticed anything about anyone.

The past three days, he remained silent and isolated.

Day soon turned into night and Raphael walked out of his office and walked towards the meeting department.

On his way, he met Derek.

"Wish you good luck at the meeting", Derek mentioned with a grin.

Raphael refused to answer as he walked away into the disappearance of the hallway.

Raphael arrived at the meeting conference.

He walked in and sat down.

Along side sat the three other people he was conversing with.

He took out the file.

"I believe you have all heard the case of the Art Users", Raphael smirked and immediately mentioned without beating around the bush.

The rest shifted their gazes towards him.

"Just because one man did it doesn't mean that the whole city needs to be punished for it", the man who sat on his left mentioned.

Darren was known in the city as a Chief Deputy Officer.

He ran things throughout the entire operation.

He never disliked Art Users and had always being a part of them.

He felt good about them due to the fact that his only son had always wanted to be an Art User.

He was brought into the meeting by an Official invite granted to him by the Mayor of the city.

Yamaluk slammed his fist on the table with fury.

"I despise those Art Users. A murder is a murder.

For the sake of everyone, I suggest we ban out the entire Art Users and anyone found will be prosecuted immediately".

Everyone's expression changed in the meeting.

The punishment stated by Yamaluk seemed a bit far-fetched.

Yamaluk didn't mind though.

He despised Art Users and that showed in every area of his actions.

The only remainder was Collins, who was also invited officially by the Mayor of the city.

His decision, would affect the way that this case would go.

"Well, on one hand, the Art Users have done nothing wrong and the case about the murder hasn't being officially comfirmed.

On the other hand, all evidence does point to an Art User being the killer which arises danger concerning the other Art Users in relation to the citizens".

Collins kept beating about the bush, not ready to confess whether he was for or against the matter.

It was a hassle for Collins to make that decision.

A strange string of screams made the decision easier for him.

Everything seized.

Raphael began to grow worried.

They could hear the sound of glass breaking and a worrying amount of screams and gun shots ring around from outside the room.

It became clear.

Something had gone terribly wrong.

"What is going on out there", Darren trembled as he spoke.

No reply.

Raphael to spooked to even open his mouth.

The meeting setting was not scheduled for the department.

It happened in an old rundown building were they would have thought no one would think to break in.

Due to the sudden relocation, it lacked security. A feet that didn't deem to be a problem at the time.

The men looked at each other as the case that they all met to mention had completely being set aside.

The only thing troubling the minds of everyone in that room was what was going on outside.

Finally, after about two minutes of screams and constant gun shots, there was a period of pure silence.

Step Step Step

The men heard faint footsteps sounding as though from afar.

All the men shivered.

Yamaluk eyes wide open his arms and legs shaking.

He tried to keep a cold face although you could easily see through it.

"Security... Security", Raphael then yelled from inside the room to which there was no reply as he had anticipated.

The rest of the men directed their stares towards him.

Eyes fuming with what Raphael had just done.

It didn't take long before droplets of blood sprayed through the hinges of the door and splashed directly on the floor.

Questions rallied, but no answers.
