Chapter 15 - ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES 2

Derek felt determined to get to the bottom of the break in.

As a head police officer, it was his duty to investigate matters that the investigators could not.

He knew that Roy would already be on the case, investigating the background of Williams.

Derek felt dissatisfied.

He decided that the only way to get to the bottom of this was to question Williams himself.

The investigation around the city was still being carried out and Art Users around Calivac City were being evicted.

Williams and his family were getting ready to leave.

"You guys ready", Williams yelled from downstairs holding a suitcase in hand.

Favour came rushing down.

Energised.

Williams carried her up and kissed her forehead.

Warm tears flowed down his cheeks with the thought that this event was all his fault.

Victoria came down next and Arnold was next to be seen by Williams.

Then, after a moment of silence, a question arose.

"So, where are we going?", Arnold queried staring at the red velvet top worn by Williams.

Williams shrugged.

"You'll know when you get there", he then replied with a faint smile.

Derek knew that Williams and his family would have left the city but he vowed to find them wherever they went.

He first decided to hurry up and question Williams before he was evicted from the city.

He stepped out of the building but was then called back by Roy.

"We found security footage of the masked man break in.

Since you instructed us that a man named Williams might be the murderer;

We brought you here to determine if the man in the cams looks like the man you so speak of".

Derek groaned, finding this as a complete waste of time.

Although, he was authorised at all cost to assist the investigation in anyway possible.

He bent down, to have a direct look at the cameras.

He saw the masked man.

"Well, from what I observed.

He somewhat has the same structure as Williams although I am not too sure", Derek shrugged and said.

Roy nodded and began scratching the back of his head.

Derek felt like his investigation as a Head Police Officer was getting ever closer to unravelling.

He left the office and exchanged glances with the bewildered Roy who looked like he didn't have answers to any questions.

"This investigation isn't getting anywhere", Derek soliloquized and finally left the building.

Williams didn't have the time for any interference.

He urged everyone to get in the car so as to leave the city and find a new city pronto.

He felt worried that the investigation could catch up to him and he couldn't let his family know that he was in charge of the break-in.

He had to find a semi isolated city and go into hiding.

"Let's go people!", Williams kept urging much to the amusement of Victoria and Arnold.

"Why so in a hurry?", Arnold then finally questioned facing Williams' back as he walked to leave the house.

Finally, Williams spoke again.

"It is either this, or we get brutally evicted by higher authorities.

Do you want that?!".

Williams looked furious as he yelled.

The rest of the family faced his eyes with integration and concern.

Williams lifted up Favour and began leaving the house.

'We can put the house on sale as we leave.

Not such a bad idea', Williams thought to himself as he lifted Favour with one hand and carried his suitcase with the other.

As he was about to leave the house.

A knock on the door made him to hault.

Williams eyes filled with that of answers.

He questioned.

"Who is at the door?".

Derek grinned to hear the voice of Williams which he could still remember from the last visit.

He rained silent for a while.

At the other end, Williams decided to ask again as he did not hear an answer.

"Who is it?!", Williams asked again this time with more fury.

Arnold and Victoria stared at the entire thing and watch the event go down.

"Who is at the door honey?", Victoria asked with her faint voice.

Silence.

Williams just kept staring at the door waiting for a reply, finally he got one.

"Derek, Head Police Officer, open up", was then suddenly heard by Williams from outside the building.

Williams froze.

He couldn't believe that Derek was the one at the door.

He began to shiver.

'I could get caught for what I did', Williams told himself while staring blankly at the wooden door.

He was greeted by the constant yelling of Derek to have the door opened.

Williams finally concurred.

He pressed on the handle and opened the door only to see Derek directly staring at him with a grin.

Derek walked in with arms folded, Arnold was surprised to see Derek again after the first visit.

"I'm here to ask you a few questions..", Derek said holding a cold face.

Worry spread through the mind of Williams.

He felt devastated on having to see Derek again.

Victoria, on the other hand had no idea who Derek was.

She suspected that the man could be here to forcefully drag them out of the city.

Derek wasted no time in jumping straight to the action, both in the presence of Arnold and Victoria who still held suitcases in hand.

"I believe you have heard the case of the break-in....", Derek mentioned casually staring at Williams from time to time.

"I believe you didn't have anything to do with it".

Williams grew nervous, a feet clearly seen by Derek.

No words, just utter silence.

Williams was a man who grew angry and obsessive over his family; but he was still a man of his word.

He was honest and as well respectful.

"Sorry officer, but we have to go", Arnold chipped in after noticing his father's period of silence.

Derek expression turned.

He couldn't stand being out witted by a child for the second time.

He smirked and spoke.

"You guys have more than enough time.

I am a Head Police Officer after all.

I have all the time in the world".

Arnold looked stunned by his reply.

For the first time in years, Arnold looked undone.

Derek turned back to face Williams who now stood ever closer to the door.

"Where do you think your going?!...", Derek queried crossing his arms above his chest.

Williams felt annoyed about Derek.

As always, he began to lose it.

A blue light suddenly raid from his fore head as he now stood with that of fury.

Derek didn't show concern.

In fact, the sudden reaction of Williams seemed to make his point more clear.

"You still haven't defended the case", Derek then mentioned to the already furious Williams.

Fire burning through the eyes of Williams. At that moment, Williams snapped.

The blue light flew through the room reflecting against the walls.

Derek instantly pulled out his gun.

Arnold and Victoria took a few steps back witnessing the scene.

All of a sudden, this turned into an all out brawl.
