Chapter 13 - MASKED MAN ENCOUNTER

The four men still sat in the room with pure silence.

It began to come very clear that the screams of Raphael had attracted the raider.

It felt odd that the meeting conference would be hijacked, nonetheless an odd-building stationed in the middle of nowhere.

A loud bang shook all the men in the room and woke them up from their gaze.

Finally, Yamaluk acted.

He walked up to the door and locked up all the hinges.

He also went to the stash of self-defense gun arms that were stationed in a cupboard.

"We cant hide forever. We have to face the fear and danger. No security around to save us", Yamaluk then instructed the other men inside their with him.

They each grabbed a gun and slowly walked towards the door.

Each step made a creek which made the men ever more worried.

Their steps were too long.

The door began to get jammed over and over again.

It became clear that the man was trying to break in.

They each took a step back maintaining a five meter distance to the door.

For Raphael, it still felt a bit uncomfortable.

Finally, the door was slammed open and all that the men could see was a large desk fly past them.

The men all ducked.

Wood and dust filled the air surrounding them.

Finally, a figure appeared.

Not a gang, a single man, walking at them graciously.

The men didn't think and began firing their guns recklessly towards the figure.

"Tsk... Tsk... Tsk, that won't work on me", the deep voice of the man broke through the air.

The men were stunned.

"How did all those bullets not kill him", one of them shouted.

"Unless, he is an Art User", the man then sincerely answered.

They had run out of bullets and didn't believe that they would need to reload so they did not gather extra.

The figure sent the bullets back at them with monumental force.

Not enough to kill them, but slightly injure them.

"Ouch.... Ouch..... Ouch", screams echoed across the room as the figure still stood there.

He then chuckled.

"Now, call of the meeting and let this whole thing blow over", the figure illustrated with a mighty wave of the hand.

The men were speechless.

Emotionless.

More like lifeless figures.

The mist cleared, the dust blew over.

His face became imminent.

All to the surprise of everyone at the meeting.

His face was covered with a black mask were only his mouth and eyes were visible.

There was no telling who it was.

The man took a step closer to the struggling men on the floor.

"As I said earlier. Call this thing off before somebody gets hurt.

You men are useless without your soldiers and hench men all working for you day and night.

You don't know what it means to truly fight and struggle for your rights", the masked man screamed at the men who sat at the floor staring at him.

"What do you want?", Raphael then stated waiting for a response.

The masked man didn't reply.

His eyes that could be seen through the mask burned with that of fury.

All the men shivered with worry.

It didn't take long for the masked man to recognize Raphael as the head of department.

Like magic, he pulled him towards himself and up to his face.

They both stared at each other eyeball to eyeball.

"Call off the meeting", the masked man then said with a grin and a slight chuckle.

Raphael stood his ground.

He refused the imposed threat of the masked man and changed his expression trying to draw the man away.

His actions failed.

The man didn't flinch.

The masked man then threw Raphael across the room and he slammed into the desk.

Hurt, but still alive and moving with blood rushing out of his system.

The other three men trembled.

The man stepped closer.

"Who are you?", Collins then asked the man as he walked over.

The gaze shifted to him.

"Call of the meeting and this all stops".

"An Art User murdered someone. Now you are making the point clear on why Art Users should be banned from the city", Collins registered into the mind of the Art User.

The words didn't seen to bother the masked man although his expression had changed lightly.

He began to know that this intervention wasn't getting him anywhere.

The sound of police sirens also made that point clear.

He groaned.

The pain of the rib disaster still bothered him up to that moment.

The police sirens grew louder. The men in the office grew relieved.

The masked man grew worried.

He turned to face Collins and slowly walked toward him.

His intentions unknown by the other men.

The police sirens had halted, the blue and red flashes of light making a scene in the abandoned building.

In an instant, without any thinking, Collins was forcefully kicked out of a five foot tall building on the second highest floor.

The rest of the men held their mouth.

The scene was unbelievable.

The decision made by the masked man was brutal.

Surely he had died.

"Noone could have survived that fall", Raphael glanced at Yamaluk and spoke.

A grin of worry grew on the face of the masked man.

'What have I done. I didn't plan on hurting anyone', the man mumbled to himself.

"I'm so sorry for your friend", he then added looking at the broken window.

"Noone would have survived that fall".

Things had gone out of control too quickly, too fast.

The police burst into the room pointing guns at every corner.

It was too little too late.

The masked man had run through the window and jump down avoiding all the police altogether.

No time to check time.

The police rushed in shocked to see all the men still alive only sustaining minor/major injuries.

It did matter that all the men get questioned and a large investigation was to going to be carried out throughout the city.

Raphael still felt as though he was paralysed.

His spinal cord feeling shattered to his nervous system.

It didn't take long before the police realized that Collins was missing although no bodies were found.

"Wait I thought there were four.

Where is Collins?", one of the officers asked as soon as he noticed Collins was missing.

The rest of the men exchanged glances.

Darren who had been silent all through the event finally spoke.

"He was kicked down the window by the robber.

Where were you guys any way. Police are meant to arrive as soon as there is a danger.

You guys should have arrived ages ago and arrested that Art User!", Darren yelled at the officer in front of him with eyes of fury.

His love for Art Users had been completely thrown down the drain.

The officers refused to speak knowing that the isolated position of the building would have proved it difficult to get there on time.

Silence reigned through the air, while the masked man made a run for it.
