The hospital wasn't very crowded. In an age where technology was so advanced that the average life expectancy had risen to eighty, minor ailments no longer required a physical visit to a doctor.

"Third floor."

Kaito expertly took a queue number and led Elysia toward the stairs.

"Why aren't we taking the elevator?"

"Why would we take an elevator for three floors?"

Why wouldn't we take the elevator for three floors? Elysia muttered under her breath as she followed behind.

There were even fewer people on the third floor. The air carried a faint scent of incense, mixed with that distinct hospital smell.

Through the gap in a door, Dr. Fal looked to be in his fifties. He had a ruddy complexion and looked full of energy—his professional skill level was hard to judge at a glance, but he clearly knew how to take care of himself.

"Su?"

Elysia's eyes suddenly lit up. She waved joyfully at a slender figure not far away.

The tall gentleman in the distance turned around at the sound, slightly opening his eyes, which were usually kept in a squint.

"Elysia?" Su froze for a long moment, his gaze shifting back and forth between Elysia and Kaito. "Are you... bringing your brother in for a check-up?"

Elysia's face went stiff. Not quite.

"I'm bringing her in," Kaito corrected, his expression softening. He was actually quite surprised that among his sister's "bad crowd," there was actually someone with a respectable profession like a doctor.

If only those other twelve "friends" didn't exist.

Su squinted his eyes again, his expression unreadable. Elysia is here for a check-up? What could she possibly have? ADHD?

It would make sense. His mentor was in charge of psychological consultations, and ADHD fell right into that category.

"It's good that you're here. Advanced ADHD can easily leave a patient in a state of chronic anxiety, or even lead to clinical depression," Su evaluated solemnly.

Elysia: "..."

After a moment of thought, Su spoke again. "Which doctor did you book? My mentor is in today; perhaps he can offer some assistance."

Kaito's opinion of Su instantly shot up. If only his sister made more of these respectable friends.

"I'm afraid not this time. We've already booked an appointment with Dr. Fal." He sounded slightly regretful, but since the appointment was made, they had to honor it. Still, knowing another expert was always good, even if Kaito hadn't figured out how to use this connection yet.

Su went silent for a beat, his tone turning subtle. "...That is my mentor."

Kaito was stunned. The world really was small.

"I still think I don't have any psychological issues," Elysia muttered. Feng Shui! It's definitely a Feng Shui issue!

"Crazy people never think they're crazy. But a normal person doesn't think about killing their brother and starting a 'new family' with twelve other people."

Ugh! Elysia's cheeks puffed out. You don't have to keep bringing it up! Are you really going to nag me about this for the rest of our lives?

"I just did something a little wrong; it doesn't mean I'm a 'wrong' person... wait, I didn't even do anything wrong!"

Kaito just stared at her silently. Elysia huffed and lowered her head. "Okay, fine. I did something a little wrong."

"Though the situation sounds a bit unique..." Su opened his eyes again, his gaze lingering on the two of them. He finally spoke up with a complex expression to help her out. "Elysia might truly not have any serious psychological issues."

After all, Su found himself having a hard time keeping a straight face while looking at Kaito's face. As for the "family of twelve"... Su had a pretty good idea of what Kaito was referring to.

"Then I wish you a sister just like her," Kaito said after a moment of silence, offering a sincere blessing.

Su kept his smile and didn't reply. I'll pass on that, thanks.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! If you keep acting so disgusted by me, I'm going to cry!" Elysia stomped her foot in frustration, but Kaito clearly wasn't in the mood to play along. As for Su...

Su, why aren't you answering? What's with closing your eyes and pretending you can't hear me!

It didn't take long before Elysia went in for her consultation. Su headed off to handle his own duties; everyone knows the struggle of a doctor's life.

Kaito checked his work group chat. Bronya seemed to have already contacted Mei and persuaded her to let her likeness be used as the hidden lead for the new game. The story had a preliminary framework, and Bronya had even found several collaborators, ready to go all-in.

"Looks like I'm going to be busy." Kaito sat on the bench with his back straight, wondering if he'd even get a chance to use his personal leave once the project ramped up.

"Waaaaah, Kaito!"

Just as he was getting restless, Elysia came running out, crying. Her big, watery eyes were filled with tears.

"What's wrong?" Kaito stood up quickly. Seriously, Sis? You're crying after seeing a doctor? Is it that serious?

"The doctor said I have ADHD without the attention deficit part, plus mild anxiety and depression. He even said I have a bit of a people-pleasing personality."

Elysia had always thought she was just lively and cute, but the doctor calmly informed her that she had ADHD—just a non-severe case. He had even prescribed her medication.

"That's it?" Kaito was incredulous. "You don't have delusional disorder or a mild intellectual disability?"

Without those two, how could she have been so abstract lately? As for the "people-pleasing" part, Kaito didn't quite get it at first, but thinking about those twelve "family members," it seemed possible. It was all the fault of those bad friends!

Elysia's eyes widened. "What do you mean, 'that's it'?"

"Can't you wish for something good for me?"

ADHD, anxiety, and depression sounded pretty serious, okay? As for the people-pleasing thing? That just sounded embarrassing. And she had even squeezed out some "little pearls" before coming out! Just as their relationship was about to mend, what was with this "that's it" attitude?

"...Truly, just that?"

Kaito, who had lived a charmed life so far, still chose to trust his own judgment. He held out his hand. "Let me see the assessment sheet."

"No!" Elysia quickly hugged the thin stack of papers to her chest.

Definitely something fishy. Kaito looked around; although the hospital was empty, there were still people nearby. He couldn't use force.

"That really is all," Elysia emphasized.

Kaito's tone turned eerie. "Then let's buy the meds and go home. Did the doctor mention anything about follow-up treatment?"

Did his silly sister not know that he could just ask the consultant directly? While they usually maintain confidentiality, the doctor wouldn't take the risk if there were potential safety issues.

"No, the doctor just told me to go out more, relax, and the symptoms would alleviate on their own."

"Let's go home, then."

Hmm, I don't know what's going on, but Kaito doesn't seem to be acting as stubborn as before. He actually looked panicked when he saw me crying.

They took a taxi home. Kaito sat in the front. Elysia's cheeks were puffed out, but she didn't stop him. Through the partition of the taxi, she could faintly see Kaito chatting with someone.
