Kaito didn't argue with Elysia. It was too stupid. Normally, when everyone was happy, these kinds of boring, silly spats were a great way to bond—bickering is a love language, after all. But right now, he wasn't happy.

At exactly 1:00 PM, Kaito walked down the stairs with his head down, pulling up an app to hail a ride.

"Why aren't we taking the motorcycle?"

Elysia leaned in, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. That would be so much faster, and the cramped space would be perfect for mending their sibling bond. After all, when you're pressed tightly together, it doesn't matter how stubborn your mouth is.

Kaito shot her a flat look. "Because someone would squirm and scream, and I... have already ended up in the hospital once because of that."

Elysia hummed in dissatisfaction, feeling annoyed but unable to find a comeback. She snatched Kaito's phone away and opened his chat logs, only to find that he only had one person pinned at the top: her. As for "Star/Special Contacts"... he didn't have a single one.

"Why don't I have a Star next to my name?" she demanded immediately.

"You did this morning," Kaito said, stopping in his tracks to wait for her to finish rummaging through his phone.

Elysia huffed again, unhappy but not knowing how to complain. Her slender fingers slid across the screen, and she eventually added herself back to his Special Contacts.

"Let's not call a car. Let's take the bike, okay~?" She softened her voice, dragging out her tone into a spoiled whine.

"No. Given your mental state, I'm afraid you'll try to take us both out on the highway."

This wasn't an exaggeration. Elysia's mental state over the past few days had been genuinely abnormal.

"You should trust your all-powerful Big Sis Elysia!"

"Besides, the last few days were definitely just a Feng Shui issue with the house!" She sounded righteous, though she lacked any real credibility.

"Then can you use your powers to manifest a girlfriend for me?" Kaito asked calmly.

Elysia huffed for the third, fourth, and fifth time. She couldn't. And in her circle of friends, there wasn't anyone particularly suited to be Kaito's girlfriend. Griseo was an adult now but still too young at heart; Pardo was cute but didn't have a romantic bone in her body; Eden was a superstar now, which was even less appropriate; Sakura and Aponia... well, there just wasn't anyone.

"Let's go. Since we're not biking, we're taking the bus."

Kaito didn't give her a chance to act out. He gripped her wrist firmly and, with a mix of pulling and coaxing, led her to the bus stop.

"You weren't this forceful before," Elysia complained in a small voice, making a symbolic attempt to struggle. Unfortunately, she wasn't the divine maiden of her dreams. Kaito, the "bad brother" who could go toe-to-toe with Bronya in a street race, had a grip strength that was frankly ridiculous.

"Because I know exactly what comes next. You'll throw a tantrum until we're almost out of time, and then you'll look at me with puppy-dog eyes and say: 'Kai, let's just take the bike, okay?'"

She probably would. Though she wouldn't call it a "tantrum"—Elysia had a thousand ways to kill time. Too bad someone's Stand isn't 'King Crimson' to just skip it.

Elysia kept mumbling under her breath, annoyed by Kaito's defensive posture. "Stingy guys are never popular, you know."

Kaito acted like he didn't hear her. It's worth noting that thanks to technological advancements, bus intervals were generally kept to ten minutes outside of rush hour, and they were free of charge. Waiting wasn't boring either; the stops were equipped with AI interfaces where you could scroll through short videos or check out nearby merchandise, though few people actually used them.

Elysia didn't like the bus. Her online persona didn't use many filters, so she was easily recognized in public. But Kaito didn't seem to know what she did for a living. Why are there people who don't like watching livestreams?

"Kai, what if we get to the hospital and the doctor says I'm fine?"

After boarding, Elysia took the window seat. She leaned against the glass, looking lost. She had never imagined she'd become a "crazy person." It has to be the Feng Shui!

"Even a perfectly normal person gets diagnosed with mild anxiety at a hospital. What makes you think you're getting out clean?" Kaito went back to scrolling through his phone. The world was currently at peace; aside from celebrity scandals, there wasn't a single piece of valuable information to be found.

"Then what if I'm only diagnosed with mild anxiety?"

Kaito looked up, gazing at his sister who looked as melancholic as a lilac in the rain. He hit her with a reality check: "Mild anxiety doesn't make you want to kill your brother, nor does it make you join a 'new family' of twelve people while hiding it from him."

Elysia's cheeks puffed out. She felt like Kaito was going to nag her about this for the rest of her life.

"It's because the nightmares were too real! And I didn't actually do anything!" She paused, then added in a whisper, "Besides, who told you to keep playing the villain in my dreams?"

You wanted to "actually" do something?

Kaito was silent for a moment, then said sincerely, "I recommend you delete all those 'bad influences' you call friends."

"I still believe that it's your group chats combined with you being scammed that's making you act so superstitious."

Even though Elysia was acting like a total mess, their lifelong bond meant he wasn't about to give up on his silly sister.

"At least they were the good guys in the dream! Unlike you! You only exist to make me angry! In the dream, all you do is bully me!"

And every time, he was a Herrscher. The kind that wouldn't listen to reason, ignored all human warmth, and committed pure, extreme evil just for the sake of slaughter. Even Mobius looked like a babbling infant next to dream-Kaito; he did it all just for his own amusement!

Kaito stared at Elysia silently. She stared back, holding her ground.

They stared for so long that Elysia even had time to wonder why his brown eyes could reflect her image so clearly. Then, she heard Kaito speak slowly, his voice very soft:

"As for why I'm always the villain in your dreams while those 'bad friends' are always the heroes..."

Kaito reached out and stroked her cheek. His fingertips applied a bit of pressure, pinching a faint red mark into her soft, chubby face.

"Elysia, in your current state of mental confusion, you'd better not discuss that with me. I'm afraid I won't be able to stop myself from giving you a public spanking."

Kaito could accept Elysia having her own friends, besties, or even a boyfriend... okay, maybe the boyfriend part was too sudden; he probably couldn't handle that yet. But Kaito could not accept that there were twelve people in her heart she considered "better" friends than him—especially when the gap between those twelve and him was the difference between an A+ and a barely passing grade.

Elysia froze. It was like a bucket of cold water had been dumped on her. She instantly deflated and slumped into her seat. Oh no. I'm so confused I'm mixing up dreams and reality.

But the dreams felt so real. Real-world Kaito was great, but dream-Kaito was... Ugh!

Her brain was a total mess.

She couldn't tell. Elysia couldn't tell the difference anymore!
