Despite being heavily wounded herself, Benares remained dutifully loyal. Kaito lay on the dragon's head until he noticed a faint fluctuation in the ground below. His heart skipped a beat.
Damn it. I exiled him thousands of meters underground, and it only held him for this long?
Mechanics are strong, but beautiful raw stats are truly eternal.
"Fortunately, this time I have Space powers."
With a flick of his will, he exiled that monster to a location thousands of kilometers away.

Kaito was so angry he laughed. I'm playing a hack-and-slash rogue-like, and I'm supposed to be careful? Why the hell am I playing your trash game then! Designer, if your balancing is this bad, just kneel down and apologize.
"Trigger it."
He grumbled, but after a frustrating day in the real world, Kaito had no intention of suffering in a game. If it's fun, he plays; if not, he's going back to Koikatsu 6.
The screen went black. After a brief loading page, Kaito's injuries were fully healed. He stood in mid-air, surrounded by "colorful black" light... it was a bit jarring to the eyes. The malice saturating the air made him frown instinctively. The sensory sharing in this game was incredible; if he hadn't dialed down the settings, this pure malice might have been unbearable.
"Where are the mobs?"
"Of all things to copy, you copy the 'forced walking cutscene' from the old days? Terrible."
Despite his words, Kaito found he could still blink-dash through the dark until he touched the first ripple in the void.
"Right, I forgot. You guys can't afford voice actors, so there's no real plot to watch anyway."
He muttered a few more insults as he touched the ripple. The perspective shifted, flashing a cutscene that looked like the developer playing through Stage 1. Kaito curled his lip. What garbage controls. This is painful to watch.
[Special Identity Obtained: Herrscher. (Requirement: Slay the first Survivor)]
Kaito froze. Are you sure this is an exclusive scenario?
"You want me to take this starter gear and fight a fully-built Stage 1 Survivor?"
Designer, your mother is truly dead.
A few minutes later, Kaito was looking over his post-reward attributes.

"Bot match."
If it weren't for the dev's cheap tricks in the last run, Kaito couldn't have imagined losing. He never realized that "Replication Reconstruction," which seemed so invincible, would be so weak in a bot's hands. Or perhaps... the Herrscher of the Void was just too broken.
Perspective returned. He could faintly sense a scorching heat wave in the distance.
"Persistent bastard."
"Do your open-world bosses never drop aggro once they've locked on?" Kaito let out a long breath, his eyes sharpening.
"Without your mechanics, how can you possibly fight me!"
He wasn't a "Survivor" anymore. The absurdly high stats of this body made his reflexes far surpass his eighteen-year-old prime.
Ripples behind him tore through space. The area in front of him was pulled into the massive Void Realm; time and space slowed to a near-halt, allowing Kaito to clearly see how low-poly the man's mask actually was.
Countless spheres of pure energy began to pour out, surrounding the boss within the frozen time.
"Void Realm—Descend!"
As the time-stop ended, energy from a full 360-degree radius slammed inward. It was the most brutal form of spatial collision—pure potential energy for the ultimate sensory pleasure.
Trying to out-stat or out-mechanic Space itself? Mindless! Braindeless!
"Still, a pure stat-monster like you makes for a satisfying kill once you're defeated."
Kaito tore off his tattered clothes and stepped down from the heavens. The energy he had easily commandeered in the previous stage now swirled around him, forming a magnificent, radiant overcoat. It was a bit flashy, sure, but a Herrscher's "God-tier gear" deserved some flair.
As the dust settled, the man—now looking like a pincushion—was kneeling on the ground. Kaito leaned over and plucked the ugly mask from his face. As expected, the face was still blurred, but the violent shifting of the pixels conveyed the boss's raw emotion.
"You will become the most memorable pile of bones beneath my throne."
Suddenly, the man—poked full of holes like a hedgehog—swung one final punch. Extreme heat and force rushed toward Kaito's face.
Kaito simply flickered into the Imaginary Space with casual ease, reappearing at a safe distance and snapping his fingers.
The Void energy left inside the man's body flared to life. The spatial resonance dealt a massive, stacking amount of True Damage.
"Hmph. Fighting a God? Utterly foolish."
If you don't have a way to bypass mechanics, how do you fight Space? With high HP? I deal True Damage, pal.

Speaking of "Decree," Kaito was reminded of Boss Bronya's game. As an early-game character, the Herrscher of the Void really did start "tickling" the enemies in the later stages. He never expected this fan-game would lean into the memes—Space was already invincible, and now it had infinite scaling for accuracy and vulnerability?
"If I don't clear the game this run, I'll eat my headset!"
"Benares, move out! To Europe!"
According to this developer's logic, the map was likely a 1:1 replica of reality, so Europe's population shouldn't be that high. But that was fine. Small area means a faster clear!
