Totosai, the old man who made Tessaiga, arrived that same afternoon, followed by Sesshōmaru, who was chasing him. A fight between Inuyasha and Sesshōmaru started. And after getting beaten up by Sesshōmaru. Inuyasha finally learned the "Cutting Wind". Tenseiga protected Sesshōmaru's life, and he escaped.
And Akari sighed in relief. At least Sesshōmaru wouldn't act crazy anymore, at least for a while, she thought while she purified the poison in Inuyasha's injuries. When she saw Totosai fixing it, an idea suddenly crossed her mind, and her eyes lit up.
"Mr. Totosai, can I ask you something?" Akari said, slightly excited.
"Yeah, what is it about?" He answered, hammering the sword
"Could you please make me a sword?" Akari bowed respectfully.
Totosai stopped hammering and looked at her. Inuyasha and the others seemed very surprised.
"Why do you want one of my swords?" Akari took a minute to think about her answer. She couldn't tell the truth, but she couldn't lie either.
"I need a sword that can withstand my spiritual power. Given your expertise, I am sure that even if it is not your area of specialization, you can make a magnificent sword." Totosai stayed silent for a few seconds that seemed like an eternity to her before he said.
"Show me your sword." Akari drew her sword and showed him. The sword was in very poor condition; the blade was badly chipped.
"Umm...What an interesting way to use your spiritual power. I have never seen anything like that." Akari tensed when she heard to his words.
"But you are right, I'm probably the only person who can build a sword for you. It's me. Okay, I like the challenge. I will do it." Akari smiled and felt relieved.
"Thank you very much, Mr. Totosai". Akari said sincerely. "What would be the payment for it?"
He held his chin, thinking. "Umm...Well, I think that the best gift a priestess could give is a protective amulet. We'll go with that."
"Okay, no problem."
"It will be ready in two weeks. I will send it with Myoga the flea." Totosai left after he said that.
"Akari, how did you come up with the idea of asking him to make you a sword? It had never occurred to me." Sango asked her.
"Well, initially, I didn't have that idea, but when I saw the powers of Tessaiga and Tenseiga, I couldn't help myself. Besides, even if his swords aren't as amazing as those two, I'm sure whatever he makes will be better than the one I have now." Akari was telling the truth. She really didn't plan it. It just occurred to her at that moment. Fortunately, he accepted.
"But what should we do now? We waited here, or we returned to the village?" Miroku asked.
"We should come back. I don't mind having to wait a few days." Inuyasha said, glancing at Akari.
"I really appreciate that. I'll take you at your word then". Inuyasha's ears twitched happily upon finally hearing a response from her. Sango and Miroku chuckled quietly at him.
"But, I can feel the presence of a fragment. We should investigate first."
**
They followed the presence of the fragment, and arrived at a village where the people were already dead. There, they found Koga, the young master of the wolf demons, who was leading the wolves' attack on the people.
"Why are you bastards killing my beloved wolves?" Koga shouted at them, upset.
"Shut up! You stink of human blood." Inuyasha answered just as angrily.
"We are just eating dinner. It's not your business, dog-turd!"
An angry Inuyasha attacked him, but Koga easily evaded his attack.
"Inuyasha, don't underestimate him. He has fragments in his legs and his right arm." Akari said.
"Okay. I will rip him anyway." Inuyasha said excitedly.
"He is not listening, is he?" Sango said, shaking her head.
"No, he is as violent as the wolf demon". Miroku answered.
Inuyasha tried to use the Cutting Wind on Koga, but he quickly ran away when he felt danger. When Akari saw him disappear in a second. She thought that she couldn't escape from him with that speed. The plan needed to be modified.
Inuyasha immediately followed Koga, and when he was distracted, Akari quietly got close to Sango and Miroku.
"Guys, I need you to do me a favor". Akari said. "Well, I might be paranoid, but if that guy Koga comes after me and kidnaps me, don't do anything."
Miroku and Sango said, startled. "What?! Is he planning...!" Akari interrupted them.
"Quiet! Don't talk so loudly. You know what Inuyasha will do if he hears this." Akari sighed and continued explaining.
"It's just theory. Okay. But he didn't leave very far away, despite being scared of Inuyasha's attack. Doesn't that tell you anything? He heard when I told Inuyasha about the fragments. If he stayed here, it's because he probably knew about other fragments, but he needs to confirm it." Sango and Miroku thought that it made sense.
"But, even so, it's very dangerous for you. Don't you see how he killed those humans?" Miroku said worriedly, and Sango nodded.
"Yes, but he probably knows that I am more useful to him alive than dead." Akari smiled. "Also, even if I'm not stronger than him. It won't be difficult to escape or hide for a while. This is an opportunity to obtain other fragments without effort." They still looked doubtful but Akari didn't have more time. Inuyasha had started looking at them, wondering what they were talking about.
"Don't tell anything to Inuyasha and Shippo. I will give you some clues. So you can follow me. Just slow down a little and take a few detours, okay?" Akari quickly caught up with Inuyasha and acted as if nothing had happened.
Miroku and Sango looked at each other and sighed, with no other choice.
