Akari and the others found a kid and an elder. They took them to their village; however, that village was attacked. Akari advised Inuyasha not to rush, but he didn't listen and ran toward the village. Akari clenched her teeth in anger; she really wanted to give him a beating.
Quickly, Akari healed the kid who was with her and Sango and they ran toward the village too. Shamefully, Miroku, and Inuyasha were already captured.
"Mmm, women? Get them." The demon said.
Akari drew her sword and killed the thieves; she had no mercy for anyone.
"Sango, we should hurry...Damn it!" Akari said when she felt a sudden increase in evil energy from the poisonous bud. This was destroyed by Inuyasha, who started to kill everyone who moved.
"Please, don't kill us". A few thieves knelt down begging him.
Akari furrowed her brows and ran toward them. She stood in front of them, stopping Inuyasha's attack with her sword.
"Stop it, Inuyasha, Wake up!" Akari didn't believe those thieves deserved to be saved; they probably had many innocent lives on their hands. Nevertheless, Inuyasha shouldn't do this as a monster.
"Akari!" Sango and Miroku seemed to move closer.
"Don't come! If you come near, he will recognize you as enemies anyway". Akari filled her sword with a few spiritual powers and threw Inuyasha back.
"Don't worry, I will be fine". Akari said that to Sango and Miroku, but she wasn't as confident as she sounded. Akari's arm was shaking just from stopping one of his attacks.
Inuyasha seemed to have lost his mind completely and attacked her. Akari didn't dare to use her spiritual power completely, not just because she didn't want to hurt him, but also because the world's consciousness was watching her, so she was only trying to contain him.
Inuyasha used his claws to attack her at incredible speed, and Akari moved away from Inuyasha, realizing she needed to train to restrain someone without hurting him. She was exhausted. At that moment, she felt the vision in her left eye turn red. Akari touched her face, and her hand was covered in blood.
Akari was surprised; she was sure she had avoided his last attack. Even so, the gust of wind had managed to cut her forehead. That showed the insane strength that Inuyasha possesses.
Akari thought Inuyasha would attack again, but instead, he moved backward and looked at someone who had suddenly arrived.
"Sesshōmaru..." Akari murmured. Sesshōmaru looked at her, and she quickly moved backwards.
Sango and Miroku move toward her and start treating her injury.
"Why is he here?" Miroku asked.
"I don't know, but I don't sense any killing intent from him". Akari answered.
Inuyasha tried to attack Sesshōmaru, but he fended him off with his sword, immobilizing him on the ground. It was a brutal method, but effective.
Sango and Miroku ran towards Inuyasha and asked.
"Why didn't you kill him? I thought you detested him".
"I will kill him, but not when he doesn't realize who he is, it has no value". Sesshōmaru said while he turned around.
"Thank you, Sesshōmaru". Akari said. He didn't pay attention and left. Akari felt relieved when he left; to be honest, she was still a little scared of him.
Inuyasha recovered consciousness a few minutes later. Akari touched the wound on her forehead and felt a headache. It was just a scratch, but it was obvious Inuyasha would feel responsible.
Inuyasha got up, and Akari stood behind Sango. Inuyasha walked to the thieves' corpses and murmured.
"I did this..." Inuyasha looked at his hand and furrowed his brow "I smell the blood of the bandits and someone else..." Akari wanted to swear; sometimes, having a good sense of smell wasn't a good thing.
Sango and Miroku looked at each other, worried. Akari sighed and stopped hiding behind Sango. Inuyasha's gaze fixed on her forehead, and Akari said.
"Mmm, it was just a scratch, it was nothing". Inuyasha didn't say anything; he just lowered his head.
Akari felt bad, but there was nothing else she could say. At that moment, any words of comfort were nothing more than empty words.
**
Inuyasha went with Totosai that same night. Akari, on the advice of Sango and Miroku, decided to rest at her age. Akari thought he didn't want to see her, too. So she agreed. Nonetheless, she didn't leave. Akari covered her body with spiritual power and went far away from them. This fight had shown her, she was careless.
She would be stronger when it came to using her spiritual power to purify souls; however, when it came to using the spiritual power in other cases, such as restraining someone without killing. She was weak. This situation couldn't continue. If Akari wanted to be stronger than anyone, she had to control her spiritual power better. Today, if it weren't for Sesshōmaru, Inuyasha could have killed her.
Akari knew that Inuyasha probably wouldn't be in danger these days, so she isolated herself and trained her spiritual power as best as she could, focusing on better understanding and its use.
