When Akari woke up, she felt her chest tight.
"Are you awake, Akari?" Akari heard Inuyasha ask.
Akari tried to answer, but she felt her throat dry. So she started to cough. Inuyasha quickly gave her some water, and she felt better.
"What happened?" Inuyasha sighed and told her what happened after she fainted. Akari could only eliminate half of the demons. Miroku used his Wind Tunnel for the rest. However, more demons arrived, and Inuyasha managed the rest with the full power of Tessaiga.
Akari listened to this and thought the world consciousness really made it all possible. In fact, Akari knew she was being imprudent. Even though it was not as if she hadn't thought about the consequences. She understood that the world consciousness didn't kill her, at least not in front of Inuyasha and the others. Because Sango and Miroku were important to Inuyasha even more than before, because the original female lead was not here.
It was good to learn what her limitations were. Nevertheless, Akari didn't want to do that again if it was possible. Because the world consciousness was furious, it caused her a lot of pain. Akari believed that if it could kill her, it would do so.
Akari didn't think about it anymore. Instead, she looked at Inuyasha, who seemed hesitant about saying something. "What is it, Inuyasha?"
"You...That power. What was it about? I never saw Kikyou using her spiritual power like this." Akari laughed.
"Well, I don't know how it worked yet. So I cannot explain to you now." Inuyasha snorted and said.
"It's fine if you don't want to tell me. But don't use that power again. Never. Understand?" Akari smiled and said.
"I'll do my best." Inuyasha furrowed his brow while saying.
"I'll be watching you."
**
Since Miroku and Akari were still injured. Inuyasha decided to stay in the temple for a while. Akari thought his decision would cause the meeting with Kohaku and Naraku to be delayed. However, it was the opposite. It seemed that the world consciousness wanted her to be weak when she fought Naraku. Perhaps, it was worried that Akari would damage him more than necessary. Well, Akari didn't disagree with that. Since she didn't know if she could control her powers, when she saw how Naraku played with Sango and Kohaku like that.
Sango couldn't avoid grabbing Tessaiga and betraying them, as in the original story. They pursued her to Naraku's castle. Akari knew what it was about, but they arrived and saw the scene. Akari felt tremendous anger. No matter how she had imagined that it didn't compare to reality. Akari clenched her fists in an attempt to control herself.
They ran toward Sango, and Akari used her spiritual power to stop the bleeding. Naraku surrounded them with miasma. Inuyasha gave them his clothes to protect them.
"We are getting nowhere..." Miroku said while he tried to use his Wind Tunnel.
"Don't you dare, Miroku!" Akari yelled at him.
Inuyasha looked at his behavior and knocked him out. Naraku was laughing at them while Akari started to search for the fragments, and when she found them, she almost drew her sword with the intention to kill him. Akari took a deep breath and grabbed her bow. It's not now, control yourself, Akari said to herself many times before she shot the arrow.
"That power—A girl used to have it". Naraku said when the arrow reached him.
"Yeah, you know her very well, too". Akari said sarcastically.
"Are you Kikyou's reincarnation?" Naraku asked.
"Yes, I am". Akari said before she shot again. But as it was expected, Naraku escaped.
Akari didn't say anything. She didn't even have the mood to continue following the plot. Fortunately, Miroku and Inuyasha were worried about Sango. So no one noticed her strange behavior.
Kirara and Sango needed herbs to recover from the poison. Miroku and Sango went for them. They decided to leave Akari because she wasn't well yet. It wasn't like that in the original story, but the world consciousness didn't do anything. Possibly because it was Inuyasha's decision or because it was a concession for her. Akari didn't care about the reason anymore. The important thing was that when Inuyasha was far away. She couldn't sense the surveillance of the world consciousness. To prove it. Akari moved far away from Sango and searched for an evil demon nearby. When she found it, she placed a barrier around them, and then she purified its soul with her sword as she did before, and nothing happened.
"Hahaha..." Akari couldn't help but laugh. Of course, she felt tired, but she didn't have the extreme reaction from before.
So this is it. Akari finally could evade the eyes of the world's consciousness. Akari undid the barrier and returned to Sango in a relaxed mood. Miroku and Inuyasha returned the next day, and Miroku told her about Jinenji and his story as a half-demon.
Akari, very cooperative, asked Inuyasha. "So were you bullied like him, Inuyasha?"
"Bah, if that happened to me, I wouldn't keep quiet about it". Akari nodded.
"Because I wasn't totally human or demon. I wanted a home. Then, I just thought that by being strong, I would get a home. That's how I have been living. And when I realized, I was alone." When Akari heard him, she couldn't help but think about how she was in the past. Before she came to this world. She was very similar to him. She was alone. She didn't have anyone. It wasn't a good life, but she did her best to live it.
Akari stopped remembering her past and smiled, saying sincerely to Inuyasha.
"But it's okay, now. Don't you think? You are not alone anymore". Neither you nor I are now. "We may not be reliable sometimes, but we all are here for you." Inuyasha looked at her, surprised.
"Well said, Akari". Miroku said, smiling.
Inuyasha blushed and said, stammering.
"Don't talk nonsense. Who... needs you?!" Akari burst out laughing. He looked cute acting like that.
