They started on their way to school again, this time though, one of Ellen's eyes watched over them and made sure they actually got there.
"It's annoying but it's fair, after all we lied to her so I can't blame her completely. She's wronged many and we wronged her... slightly. Never mind I give up on painting her as some sort of Mona Lisa," Hirune sighed.
Tundra held in a laugh, "You truly are something. Speaking of, I just remembered that you're obsessed with Don Quixote, why's that? You haven't really had the chance to fangirl over him the past couple of days."
Hirune's eyes sparkled, her smile dazzling with excitement, "I thought you'd never ask! You see my dear friend, it all started with the big lady herself, Namulenza! You see, she told me many stories of her justful acts and adventures, when I asked her what inspired her to be like this, she told me that she became obsessed with her lifestyle the millisecond she read the first part of Don Quixote back when Cervantes was still alive. Also, don't get confused, as the Don Quixote Ellen talked about was the one someone managed to summon with a literature class artifact; Namulenza told me that by the way. Oh, and, Before you ask, yes, she was around at the same time as THE Cervantes, and all it took for her to want to turn Don Quixote's lifestyle into a reality, although it had been real for years before then as the book Don Quixote is supposed to be making fun of classic knight tropes such as the knight errant, which is what my favorite hidalgo was, but it's the thought that counts. So, she did the same as he did, made herself fully cardboard armor, taking inspiration from her visor, tamed a wolf in the woods and named it Mr. Devi, then proceeded to travel with it all over Spaniaca before managing to sneak onto Columbus's ship with Mr. Devi, landing herself here in Triste and fighting with the natives to keep Spaniaca out, as she believed that conquering such a magical land would make its magic fade away, so she fought for the Natives freedom.
"Though that's probably been taught to you in history, what you asked was why I, myself, am obsessed with Don Quixote. But that's precisely why, Namulenza told me only but a small fraction of her ventures in Spaniaca, she didn't even manage to get halfway done with the tales in her homeland before having to go away. In fact, the reason we didn't get halfway through the Spaniacan Tales of Namulenza as she called them, is because I kept on asking her to tell me the same story over and over again. Yes, the story of the time she'd first run into a Spaniard, my favorite tale. You see, she'd always lived in the outskirts of Spaniaca isolated from society before by some miracle, she'd gotten her hands on Don Quixote, so the first time she ran into a Spaniard was quite the interesting tale.
"Here's how it goes, by this time Namulenza already had her artifact power and Mr. Devi was slowly gaining his own, then they ran into a Spaniard. He was alone, taking his horse on a little joy ride. Seeing him Namulenza instantly thought he was a knight, and inspired by The Man of La Mancha himself, she saw the Spaniard and stopped him, asking him if he was truly a knight of chivalry. Hearing her speak, the Spaniard instantly thought she was mad and laughed in her face, mocking her comment of being a knight of chivalry. Hearing his mockery, she challenged him to a duel to the death, as she wouldn't tolerate the disrespect, and a knight who didn't follow his or her code of chivalry was worse than scum in her eyes.
"Hearing this the Spaniard gladly accepted the challenge with the goal to be rid of someone who could hurt others if not dealt with. After they both got in position and Mr. Devi howled three times, they charged at each other, the man charging at her on horseback with his lance lined directly at her head, as for Namulenza, she simply ran at him like a fool accepting their fate, yet the Spaniard was the actual fool. One second, he was on his horse, the next, his horse toppled over as Mr. Devi seamlessly managed to go through his horses' legs unscaved, startling his horse and causing it to fall over.
The Spaniards lance then plunged into the ground, it's but striking him hard in the face as Namulenza slashed across his chest with her saber. She prepared to finish him off, but he begged her to have mercy, telling her he had a family at home that he wanted to apologize to for all of his mistakes. This caused her to hesitate, then with much frustration at herself and empathy for the man's family, she patched him up and took care of him for a while. During this time, the Spaniard fell in love with her and revealed that he lied about having a family in order to gain sympathy from her, but that he'd like to start one with her. Hearing this, a mischievous idea formed in her head, ass not only had he lied to her, but she took this as him tricking her because he never specified that he built these feelings during their time together.
So, after they got done with their business, while lying next to him and pampering him, she suddenly made the devourer jaws come out of her hand as she traced up his chest and to his chin, the jaws swallowing his head as she whispered good night into his ear."
Tundra stared at her for a second with visible worry in his eyes, a slight hint of fear sprinkled in with that worry.
"But I only liked that story because she made herself out to be an extremely chivalrous and justful person who had been wronged as she told it, so I thought she was a complete girlboss because of how she put it. Thinking back to it, she could've just rejected him and left him to his own devices instead of tricking him."
Tundra sighed in relief as they walked through the doors of the school. Looking around, he raised his guard again, "Careful, anyone here could be an assassin, and we wouldn't know until it's too late."
