Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Itsy Bitsy

She stood there in the rain pouting with her face a little red as she looked up at a building's roof. She'd tried to walk up its wall and onto the roof to get a better look at her surroundings but as she did rain started to pour and she was swept off her feet, hitting her head hard on the floor. She made the dress of spider's dinner to the point it was basically transparent and made large sharp spider legs come out of the back of it.

As she did this, a kid got his mother's attention and pointed at her, "Mama, is that the itsy-bitsy spider?"

She quickly pulled him away from the area with a unique sense of dread on her face. Arachne cackled as she started climbing the wall of the building again. Her spider legs running deep into the wall keeping her from falling.

Reaching the roof, her spiders made her dress puff up again. Ironically though as she reached the roof the rain stopped, giving her a clear view of her surroundings. Witnessing this she cackled again, finding her luck extremely amusing today.

Flipping her hair out of her face she looked about the town, trying to locate anything that might interest her. A bunch of delectable innocent citizens, some wagons being pulled by huge hunks of horses that had plenty of meat on them, some pizzerias, a couple stray hunks of meat, there was even sauce as it had just rained.

She crouched down fixing her dress beneath her knees and licked her lips. Resting her head on her palm, she started pointing at the people, then the horses, then the stray hunks of meat, then the pizzerias while with a little tune saying, "Eine, Meanie, Minie. Mo~! Thread-ding, the, fly, as, it flew~! App-roach-ing it as, it, cooed~! I couldn't help but eat it through~!" She finished with a giggle as she dropped from the roof, her first victim being an innocent mother which she dropkicked from the top-ropes.

She let out a delighted moan as she took a bit out the pizza. The cheese stretching for at least a foot as she pulled it. She pulled at the webs covering her voluptuous body as she shifted her legs a bit, crossing her legs as she placed them on the table. The cheese broke and landed on her stomach giving her a mild burning sensation as she looked out of the window covered in liters, upon liters of blood. The blood so thick that it casted a shadow into the place, though the chaos outside as the window got covered in more and more blood still serenaded her ears.

She let her head fall back on the seat as she got another cheese pull and mumbled, "This is probably going to be on the news... Or at least I hope it is. I'd rather not have to kill that girl... Although... well... hmm..." She thought and thought about what she would do with Hirune once she captured her. After all it's not like there was a punishment for killing her, although she would prefer to deliver her alive. Though she also wanted to do something with her before delivering her to the president, she just wasn't sure what it was yet.

She reached beneath the webs and placed her hand on her thigh, her hand running down her leg as she sung another tune and staring blankly into the roof.

Then the bell rung loudly as a hoard of bodies got carried in. She quickly ripped through her webs and ran over, dropping into the pile of bodies and ripping through them. Taking large bites out of them until she was satisfied. Leaving but a measly fifty out of the two hundred twenty-one bodies.

She then proceeded to walk around a bit more, her spiders wrapping around her and making the same outfit again and proceeded to the next town over, Holgi.

Hirune slouched in the cow while fidgeting with little bits of the devourers power. She made a little wolf, then a small herd of sheep which floated in the air for a moment before she pushed them together and pulled them apart to become an elastic band which she pulled to the point of it snapping. She then pulled the elastic band to be the size of a plate, which she proceeded to punch through shattering it. The bits of the plate floated around, then Hirune pulled them back together and wrapped the energy around her hands as she grabbed the TV remote and turned it on changing through the channels.

As she did this Tundra walked in while eating a slice of guava cake, "What's on today?"

"Nothing good," She responded as she reached the children's channel, which had a Don Quixote movie playing at this time of day. "Never mind this is the best channel ever I'm sorry for ever doubting you. Hither here Tundra, this is a blessing upon television networks that we must witness!"

Tundra sat down next to her and slouched down, "I'm guessing this is a rewatch for you?"

She gasped, "How'd you know?"

He took a bite out of the guava cake. "I don't know it's just, a gut feeling I have," he said sarcastically.

She rolled her eyes, "Don't worry I won't spoil you."

They sat there for the first couple minutes of the movie, and as an action scene reached its climaxed the TV went static. Hirune rushed to the TV to fix the antenna or slap it a couple times because she didn't want to miss the big moment, but she stopped as it came back onto the news, the headline instantly catching her eye.

'A massacre in Mabay leaves people speechless' it read. Then it cut to some footage of the place. It was a bloody mess; the only things left behind beings some bones and organs. Hirune clenched her jaw while staring at the scene seriously. Tundra walked up to her and held her shoulder, "Hey calm down, it happens. Sure, they deserve justice, but you can't help everyone all at once."

"That's not the problem; I came to terms with that a long time ago," she answered seriously. "The problem is that that's right next to Holgi."

The person recording walked into each of the buildings and gave a small viewing of them. As they gave a small viewing of the pizzeria Tundra couldn't help but chuckle, "It was Arachne huh? I thought she'd left killing in the past."

Hirune looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "Oh? Arachne? Who is she? Tell me more."

Tundra looked at Hirune and sighed, "Honestly I don't remember much. I just remember working with her for a while and I somehow convinced her to stop killing one day. Or at least I thought I did."

Hirune nodded and leaned in a bit closer, "Is that it? Just coworkers?" 'Ooh~! You're jealous!'

"I mean we did date for a brief period of time," he said while trying to remember more about her. "It wasn't anything too crazy and it didn't last that long either."

"If you don't mind me asking, for how long?"

"Like... a year or so," he said while scratching his head. "It could've been a little more though."

'Okay so they're close. Maybe I can get him to speak to her and see if she's planning to attack Holgi and if she is convincing her not to. Although that would risk her seducing him again. Hmm, decisions, decisions,' Hirune thought as she backed up a bit, taking a small bite of his guava cake. "That's good. Where'd you get it?"

He shrugged, "Ellen bought it earlier today. It's on top of the fridge in the kitchen, if you want to know where to buy it ask her."

She nodded again and got up close and personal again, "Okay, but I know you still have a contact with her. After all, why wouldn't you stay in touch with someone as dangerous as her."

He nodded and pulled out a little post card with a kiss mark on the corner, "I keep their contacts on me at all times in case I ever need them."

'Kiss mark?' She thought while opening post card and reading the contact. 'Alright where's the closest phone...' Taking a look around she didn't spot any.

Tundra quickly noticed this and pulled a flip phone out of his pocket, "Here."

She put in the contact, called it, then handed the phone to him. He put it up to his ear, Hirune put her head against his on the same side as the phone and heard her immediately pick up.

They spoke for a bit, then came to the agreement to go to a fancy restaurant between Holgi and Mabay with Hirune included, as she wouldn't settle for him going by himself worried, she'd try to take him.
