Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: School Assassin

He suddenly got up really close and whispered in her ear, "Careful, the assassin we're facing this time is actually trained in the art of being an assassin unlike the other two."

Hirune looked at him, "So they actually know how to be sneaky?"

"Yep, they're disguised as a fellow student, I'll go and try to bring him over, "befriend" him, maybe even manage to sneak some information out of him somehow, and then kill him. It's underhanded, I know, you hate underhanded tricks but believe me, but it's necessary for a case such as this one."

Hirune nodded, "No, you're fine. After all some assassins rely on trickery in order to deal with their target, and considering what you've just said, they seem like one of them."

Tundra nodded and went on with the plan. Hirune sat there and waited speaking to Namulenza, 'Was that the real Tundra?'

'Seems like it thus far, I can't really say though as we haven't properly seen him in action before,' she answered while sighing. 'We'll have to keep our guard up around him, after all there could always be two assassins instead of one.'

Hirune sighed and swung her necklace in front of her face in a pendulum, following it with her eyes as it swung back and forth. She zoned out doing this for a minute or so until Tundra tapped her on the shoulder and introduced the guy, he was suspicious of, short black hair and brown eyes with a white polo and navy-blue dress pants. Looked like your average guy, just that he probably had a knife stored up somewhere. In fact, anyone could have a knife stored up somewhere.

"Sup, I'm Bob," the guy said while staring at Hirune with a ponderous expression on his face. Then he suddenly snapped his fingers and pointed at her, "You're the witch!" He said casually as he sat down.

"You know for being called a witch, you'd expect them to try and burn me a steak or something with the only thing they'd release me for being... I don't know me saying I knew a spell to summon thick goth mommies?"

"Do you?" Bob asked.

"Fun fact: I'm not actually a witch I just look like an ancient one. So no, I don't. Also, I take offense to being called a witch, I'm not ugly, in fact, a certain someone has told me otherwise a couple of times," Hirune said while staring at her desk. She didn't really care about socializing today, unless it was with someone she already knew.

The time Tundra and Bob spent talking about random things went by in a flash. Probably because they were both really good at hiding their information, but so far all of the evidence Tundra had to suspect Bob as an assassin was that he was armed.

He sighed and slouched in his chair, this lunch period was taking forever to end but it meant no class, so it's safe to say they didn't mind.

As Tundra started to play with some little ice action figures Hirune stood up and held her hand out to him, "Come on, I want to go somewhere on campus with you."

Tundra stood up and took her hand as she led him somewhere, he had no clue where they were going but he trusted her with his life as he hadn't had the same thought as her and Namulenza that either of them could be an assassin.

Then Hirune suddenly shoved him onto the wall behind the stairs and got extremely up close and personal, "What was the last thing you ate?"

Tundra stared at her for a while before responding as he was too distracted by how close she was, "Oh, uh, I ate eggs for breakfast. Why?"

'Write that down, write that down,' Hirune told Namulenza. 'I did, I did now continue your interrogation.'

Hirune frowned and stared deep into his eyes before asking in a low voice, "Can I kiss you for confirmation?"

Namulenza started choking on her saliva, Hirune blushed hard and Tundra... Tundra was confused by her reprimand, "What?"

"Can I kiss you for confirmation?" Hirune repeated. "It's a yes or no question."

"Um, I guess?" Tundra responded wondering why she felt as though this was needed. But yet again, he hadn't come to the same thought as her and trusted whatever she was trying to do.

Hirune took a deep breath, pulled him close and kissed him deeply, a kiss which Tundra melted into cooperating with whatever she was trying to do. Then she suddenly pulled away and slammed his back into the wall.

"Yep, that's eggs," she said while whipping her mouth to be rid of the trail of saliva, and also to hide that she really enjoyed that.

"And that's dulce de leche. Did you have ice cream?" Tundra responded.

"Empty your pockets!" Hirune said switching up instantly.

"So, we went from an officer with questionable ways to a robber?" He teased as he emptied his pockets to show that he still had the same amount of money Ellen gave him before they left.

Suddenly she pushed him to the floor as she turned to vapor and disappeared. Tundra then dropped onto Tundra from above the stairs and held his arms behind his back, "Well that was easy." Hirune walked around the stairs, "I thought we were actually going to have a challenge for once. But nope, all of these assassins have been easy to deal with."

"You know it's only thanks to you that my gears started turning," Tundra said as he made a dagger and used it to cut the assassin's throat under him.

"And you were pretty solid with your brainstorming," Hirune added as she sat down next to him with a smile. Her smile quickly fading as she whispered, "But were both thinking the same thing, right?"

Tundra looked at her, "Yeah, there's definitely more where he came from."
