Synopsis
Have you ever thought that your day could not be going any worse than it already is, that this is the worst that could happen today, and then, like some magic, you face another misfortune and stand corrected, with an apocalypse underway? As if that is not enough, it has to start when you finally have a chance to complete a dream-like date and finally get lucky. Well, this was the story of our hero—or should I say, the unlucky guy—only to survive the apocalypse for something worse. The only thing that allowed him to survive was living off his bad luck: Unlucky Roulette, which made him realize being unlucky can be good. This story will let our precious reader know that surviving, for this guy, was only a small part of a bigger plan—for him to go from unlucky guy to the a feared existence, one that would push away the ancients who survived eons of apocalypse. *****************This story contains scenes of gore and violence typical of fantasy action genres. Chapter 1 - Just when you thought you are lucky...

"The day could not have been any better," Ren thought.

Ren looked at the hand he was holding as they walked toward the apartment—his man cave—thinking that he would finally get lucky and finally rid himself of his virgin status.

"So, what do you think?" Ophelia asked.

"Huh?" Ren snapped out of his thoughts. "What do you mean, 'what do I think'?"

He stopped and looked into the eyes of Ophelia, his girlfriend—someone he didn't even remember proposing to. All he remembered was blacking out while clubbing alone and waking up the next morning naked next to Ophelia.

She claimed that he had proposed to her and that she accepted because of his honesty. However, they hadn't done the deed, since they were drunk, ended up vomiting, threw away their clothes, and fell asleep naked.

Honestly, when he woke up next to her—the most beautiful girl he had ever seen, as he claimed—he thought someone was pranking him. But then he remembered he didn't have any friends who would prank him.

It had been one month since then, and today he was finally going to graduate from virginity and become a man. Nothing could stop him. (Or so he believed.)

"You weren't listening again, ungh. I said, what do you think about meeting my parents the day after tomorrow, introducing ourselves, and starting to think about marriage?"

Ophelia pouted as she spoke, pulling her hand back and crossing her arms.

Ren panicked at first, but seeing her acting cute, he thought fast to save the situation.

"How do you read my mind?" he said. "I was thinking the same thing and wondering how to bring it up to you. Looks like we're in sync."

Ren reached out and pulled Ophelia into a hug.

Suddenly, something dropped from above onto his shoulder.

Phht!

Ren looked down and saw the "present" left by the bird perched on the wire overhead.

"F**k," was the first thought in his mind.

Ophelia shoved him away. "Eww! Don't come near me until you clean yourself. Let's go home first."

The couple continued toward the apartment, keeping their distance. Ren tried to close the gap, only to be pushed away ruthlessly.

"Finally clean," Ren thought to himself, slowly getting excited at the thought of what was to come.

He moved toward the bathroom door, pulled it open, and looked toward the bed. His heart skipped a beat, and he felt the blood rush to his head.

Ophelia was lying on the bed with one leg crossed over the other, slowly curling upward. As her leg lifted, her lace nightdress rode up with it.

Crack. Crack.Crack. Crack. Crack.

Suddenly, the bedroom—or rather, the entire apartment—began to shift and tilt. From the corner of his eye, Ren saw the building tearing apart.

Before Ophelia could get out of bed and run toward the bathroom—or Ren could escape from it—the building split open.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Ren stared ahead, his arm stretched outward, his scream caught in his throat. Birds fled into the air as sirens wailed. The world twisted and shifted, fires igniting below as cars and people scattered across the streets.

He looked toward the collapsing apartment, hoping for a miracle—that Ophelia would survive the fall or somehow leap to the still-standing half of the building he was on.

But nothing like that happened.

The only thought in Ren's mind was, "Am I not allowed to have sx? Is someone out to get me?"* ಥ_ಥ

Caw. Caw. Caw.

Ren stared at the Cndm box in his hand and the fallen half of the apartment building. His eyes watered. He absentmindedly wiped them and looked up, hoping this was all just a dream—that he would wake up any second now.

One second.Five seconds.Thirty seconds.One minute.

Nothing changed. Rain began to fall. Ren stood there soaking wet, wearing only a towel and clothes still stained with bird droppings.

Ding!1 point gained!Ready for a spin!

The Unlucky Roulette appeared again, the spin button glowing red as the wheel rotated behind it. None of the rewards were visible.

Still traumatized by what had happened in the last ten minutes, Ren acted on instinct. He didn't question how the roulette worked or how he had gained a point.

He clicked the spin button.

–1 point.

VROOOM!

The roulette spun faster and faster, accompanied by a harsh screech, as if brakes were being slammed on it.

Congratulations!You have won—
