"Why would I know?" I snapped. "Why are you asking me?"
He looked at me—really looked at me—and I froze.
"…What did you do to me?"
I blinked.
What?
Had he finally lost his mind?
"Solar!"
I turned just in time to see Charlotte approaching us, her expression bright and familiar. "You're here."
"Why, Charlotte?" I asked flatly.
"Come with me," she said cheerfully. "Let's go buy some clothes together."
"Huh?"
I glanced back at Lake. His eyes were lifeless, empty—like something inside him had already broken. It sent an uncomfortable chill down my spine.
"Lake," Charlotte said, stepping slightly in front of me, "do you need something from my friend?"
He didn't even acknowledge her. He simply turned around and walked away.
Charlotte frowned and turned back to me. "Did something happen? Did he do something bad to you?"
"Nothing," I replied. "He just asked me something… weird."
Her brows knitted together. "What did he ask?"
