Synopsis
Marella dared to join a school trip to an island in the middle of the sea without her parents' permission because if they found out, she would be forbidden from going, just like before. Since childhood, Marella had always been forbidden from setting foot on the beach, but this time she was more reckless. She never imagined the tragic accident that would sink her into the open sea from a ship hit by a storm. With a broken heart, she sank, inhaling water that made her whole body ache. She closed her eyes as consciousness began to slip away from her. When she awoke, she was greeted harshly by a Siren Prince who accused her of being an intruder from the Mermaid Kingdom because Marella’s legs had transformed into a beautiful fishtail, making it almost impossible for her to believe it. Was this because of the internet ritual she had performed out of boredom the night before? What had actually happened to her? Was this just a coincidence? Or was the sea demanding something from her?

Chapter 1 - Ocean Blue Eyes

..."He hurt me, kicked me into the black ocean, I drowned in deep blue sadness, while he kissed another woman and never looked at me"...

...Marella Oceane Aquitaine...

~🧜🏼‍♂️🧜🏼‍♀️🧜🏻‍♀️~

She is Marella Oceane Aquitaine. Just call her Marella, a girl with hair as bright as the sun and eyes as blue as the sea, the daughter of Mommy Luna and Daddy Dion. Mommy Luna loves her daughter just as much as Daddy Dion, but Mommy Luna is more strict and doesn't spoil Marella, unlike Daddy Dion. He treats Marella like a princess, fulfilling all her wishes. Daddy Dion is often scolded by his wife for spoiling their only daughter. There is only one rule for her: she is not allowed to go to the sea or the beach.

Mommy Luna isn't unloving, she just doesn't want her daughter to become too dependent on her parents and act recklessly without knowing the consequences, because she knows what her only daughter is like.

Marella is rebellious and humorous, and likes to do things that are beyond reason when she is bored and has nothing to do. Right now, she is busy scribbling in her notebook until it is almost full. She has a reason for doing this: her internet connection is down and there is nothing she can do. Using her cell phone without data is meaningless to Marella.

She rolled over on the bed, her eyes scanning her pastel-colored room, which was still pleasant to look at.

Suddenly, an idea popped into his head as she watched the television show that had aired the series about sea creatures with human bodies and fish tails many times before. She turned on the TV just to reduce the silence. She rested her head between her hands. "Noel likes the sea, so if I became a mermaid, would he like me and become obsessed with me again?" Marella asked herself, beginning to imagine something in her mind.

She grabbed her phone and smiled happily when she saw that her network was back. She started typing "how to become a mermaid" into the browser's search bar, and various websites popped up discussing the same thing Marella had searched for. Marella clicked on the top article and began reading it. "If you don't try, you'll never know," she said, getting up from the bed and walking out.

She headed to the kitchen while still reading the text on her phone. "First, I have to find some fish. There must be some in the fridge," she said to herself as she approached the fridge. Then she rummaged through it to find some fish.

One of her maids, who was not far away, approached her. "What are you looking for? Would you like me to get it for you?" asked the maid.

Marella shook her head slowly. "No need, thank you. When I'm done, please tidy it up, okay?" Marella asked, and the maid nodded in response. She then walked away, leaving Marella still rummaging through the contents of the six-door refrigerator. If only her refrigerator were as small as her friend's, it would be easier to find things.

After getting it, she took the fish outside and read the article on her phone again: "Wash the fish with rainwater, and collect rainwater to drink." Marella placed a container to collect rainwater and washed the fish with rainwater. It was perfect timing because it was raining, and even the sky knew how to complete Marella's boring activity.

After finishing, she brought the cleaned fish along with the collected water inside. Marella paused for a moment—it wasn't possible for her to eat the fish raw, but the article didn't mention what to do with the fish after cleaning it.

She decided to ask her maid to fry the fish and bring it to her room. As written in the article, Marella ate all the fish and drank the rainwater. She looked back at the article and recited the spell, Aru duel mermaíd Tarua

"Aru duel mermaíd tarua," Marella recited the spell she found on the website. "Is that it?" she asked, seeing no change in her legs. But then she thought about it again and realized how annoying it would be if she really turned into a mermaid just by visiting a website. If that really happened, how would she get her legs back? Marella didn't need to worry because it was highly unlikely to happen. After all, mermaids like that only existed in fairy tales, right? If they did exist, she would have asked her daddy for a mermaid in a big aquarium a long time ago.

Marella read the last paragraph of the article again: "When your feet touch the sea water, a beautiful tail will appear to replace your legs."

The sea? There's no sea here. Well, Marella was getting sleepy, so she decided to go to bed. She lay down on the bed, moved her arms to pull the blanket up to her chest, and closed her eyes to fall asleep.

The sound of a cell phone ringing repeatedly could be heard, but Marella was fast asleep and couldn't hear it.

The next day, Marella was busy preparing various necessities and items that were needed. Earlier that morning, Karang had called her repeatedly since yesterday. It turned out that today there would be a school trip to an island with black beaches. Oh my, the timing was so tight that Marella was confused. Her mommy and daddy were going abroad. If only she had magic to help her take care of everything. All the maids were busy with their own tasks in the morning. Marella didn't want to disturb them or interrupt their work. But there was an advantage to her parents not being home—they couldn't stop Marella from going to the beach. In her entire life, Marella had never seen the beach.

Marella dropped some of her clothes from the closet when she heard the car horn outside. "Oh no!" Marella shouted, gathering many clothes and items from the closet into her suitcase without tidying them up first. She closed the suitcase forcefully so she could hurry, oh, the school bus must be waiting for her. She was about to run outside dragging her bag, but she changed her mind. She had forgotten the most important thing, which made her turn back and take a necklace with a pendant shaped like a transparent, empty glass teardrop to wear around her neck. For some reason, she always carried that item with her. Maybe it was a habit and a reminder from her mom, even though Marella didn't know what use it had for her.

Marella dragged her suitcase and carried her backpack on her shoulder as she hurriedly ran onto the bus, looking around for her friend. "Marella!" called a girl with dark eyes and dark red hair who was sitting in a seat near the window, waving her hand slowly and greeting her warmly and cheerfully.

Marella smiled when she found her friend and walked over to the passenger seat next to her. Marella put her belongings in the luggage compartment and sat down next to Karang, leaning back in her seat. "Hah, I'm tired," said Marella, fanning herself with her hand. She was quite exhausted from packing all the things she needed to bring.

Karang chuckled, "Anyway, are you going on a school trip or running away?" Karang asked, puzzled by her friend who brought two large suitcases and a large backpack even though they were only going to be there for two or three days.

Marella looked around for someone when the bus stopped to pick up her crush. She accidentally saw him with a girl who lived near her crush. Marella watched them get on the bus together and chat. He was Noel, a man with light brown hair, yellow eyes, and fair skin. Noel sat in the seat behind Marella, making her smile, but like a tug-of-war, her smile immediately disappeared and was replaced by a gloomy face when she saw the girl named Araya about to sit next to Noel.

Oh, Marella wouldn't let that happen. She quickly got up. "Where are you going?" asked Karang as Marella got up and headed for the back seat, pushing past Araya and sitting down next to Noel. She stretched her body deliberately, blocking Araya's path. "It's more comfortable sitting here, isn't it?" she exclaimed, leaning back in her seat with her arms behind her head as a pillow.

Noel looked at her disapprovingly. "Why did you move to the back? Araya wants to sit there," Noel asked. He didn't want Marella sitting next to him.

Marella clicked her tongue in annoyance. "There are plenty of empty seats, Araya. Just find another place to sit," Marella said dismissively, glaring at Araya, making the girl's courage shrink.

Araya twisted her hands nervously, her eyebrows lowered. "Y-yeah, it's okay, Noel. I'll just sit... somewhere else," Araya said, her voice trembling and stuttering like a remote control with dead batteries.

Marella smiled happily, very happy. "Alright, hush hush." After being shooed away, Araya left, waving her hands as she left.

But for some reason, there was no rock or rope to trip her, yet she fell anyway. "Ouch," Araya groaned, holding her leg. She sat on the floor with a face that made people feel sorry for her.

"Marella, move your feet," Noel ordered, causing Marella, who had closed her eyes, to open them again and look at Noel lazily.

He was really pushing it, trying to help Araya even though she was right next to Noel, not valuing her at all as his future. "What's the point? Mr. Fahri already helped her," Marella exclaimed, referring to Araya, who had been helped by Mr. Fahri, their physical education teacher.

Noel, his face full of defeat, sat back down next to Marella, crossing his arms in annoyance.

Marella deliberately turned up the music on her cell phone, swaying her body and singing loudly enough for Noel to hear. "What do you see in her? Obviously, I'm richer!" Noel rolled his eyes at Marella's singing, which made his ears ring.

Seeing Noel's indifferent response, Marella changed her plan. She played one of Taylor Swift's songs, You Belong with Me, loudly, hoping that Noel's ears could clearly hear her heartfelt feelings poured into the song and realize it. If not, Marella would bring a loudspeaker and play this song loudly right into Noel's ears.

The bus sped along the quiet roads toward the Black Sea in the Noune archipelago, passing ships to reach the islands. and during that time, Marella tried to get Noel's attention, just as she was now trying to make Noel feel something. "Noel, do you know the difference between you and the Black Sea?" Marella asked. Noel rolled his eyes—this was the umpteenth time Marella had been flirting with him. Noel answered flatly, "No," in a lazy tone.

Marella smiled, even though it seemed brief. She was happy that Noel was still responding to her, even though she knew Noel was forced to. "If the black sea makes me die and drown, you make me drown and can't get out of your heart," said Marella, teasing herself, while the one she was teasing seemed lazy to respond. "Noel, you're so handsome, If Taylor were to say it, I feel like I might sink and drown and die," Marella said in an exaggerated tone, placing her hand on her forehead, as Karang would say, all dramatic. Marella leaned her head on Noel's shoulder. "Noel, if I drown, it means my love will also drown and be destroyed." For some reason, Marella didn't know why she suddenly said those words, but she felt it came from her heart.

Noel seemed indifferent, turning his head towards the window, but for some reason, he didn't like hearing those words.

Upon arriving at the port, Marella dragged her suitcase toward the ship, regretting bringing so many things, which were also difficult to carry. Noel, whom she wanted to ask for help, walked quickly away from her. "If only there was a prince who would carry this princess's suitcases," Marella said exaggeratedly.

Karang shook her head and pursed her lips upon hearing Marella's words. "What prince would want to help a spoiled princess, you crazy girl," said Karang, stinging Marella, who pouted in annoyance and stamped her foot in frustration.

A male student with glasses approached Marella, his cheeks red. "Marella, let me help you carry the suitcases," the boy offered, adjusting his glasses nervously.

Marella frowned; she wanted Noel. "Sorry, Princess, I don't want any help, thank you," she said before dragging her bag quickly with all her strength, even though she nearly tripped several times, leaving the boy behind with Karang, who remained silent in his spot.

Karang shook her head at her friend's behavior and looked at the man with concern. "Sorry, don't take it personally. She's crazy." After saying that, Karang left to follow Marella.

That night in Karang's room, he couldn't sleep because Marella suddenly flew into a rage after catching her crush constantly hanging out with a girl from her class named Araya. "HUAAA Karaaang, ... What should I do?" Marella asked hysterically, pulling at the pillow in frustration. If she could, she would tear the pillow apart, but she didn't want to because it wasn't elegant or pretty.

Karang was really sleepy now. Come on, she wanted to sleep. Wasn't there anyone who wanted to take her friend and throw her into the sea? Karang rolled her eyes. "You better get out. At this hour, they're having a barbecue, right? Go steal your crush," said Karang, who didn't want to know and didn't want to hear Marella's chatter anymore. She buried her head in the pillow.

Marella smiled. "Yeah, right. I won't let Noel get close to that caterpillar girl." After saying that, Marella got up from the bed, put on her sandals, and walked out of the room while humming softly, "Noel, my future husband~"

Once on board, there were many children already there, including the person she was looking for. "Oh my God, you're so handsome," Marella thought to herself. If only Karang had heard her, he would have sneered and mocked her words.

Marella tidied up her appearance and hair, then walked toward Imanuel Indiwiyata. She had been attracted to him ever since their parents introduced them at a company executives' party, and unfortunately, Marella had truly fallen for his charm. To be honest, their parents had arranged for Marella and Noel to be matched at that event, but Noel flatly refused, saying he didn't like strange girls with shrill, spoiled voices like Marella. However, his parents still forced and pressured him to get engaged to Marella for the sake of their family business. Marella did not lose hope in pursuing Noel's love. Even though she was always rejected, she would not give up. Even though it had been more than three years since the engagement took place when they were in the second year of junior high school, she still did not give up.

However, Marella stopped in her tracks when she saw a girl hugging Noel from behind. Noel turned around and hugged the girl back affectionately, then something shocking made Marella's heart feel very tense—they kissed. Marella froze, watching the scene with wide eyes. She quickly ran to the edge of the ship, gripping the railing tightly as if to hold back the pain in her chest. Her eyes grew hot, and tears began to well up in her eyelids. Had her struggles and treatment of Noel all this time been insufficient?

"So this is what heartache feels like, it hurts, doesn't it?" She looked up at the sea, whose waves seemed to be raging at something. Marella shed tears that fell freely until they disappeared, merging with the sea water. Suddenly, thunder and lightning roared, and the waves crashed even harder. The ship rocked like a piece of paper on the water. People began to move away from the deck toward their cabins to protect themselves from the rain and thunder. Marella, who had just realized what was happening, hurried to move away from the edge of the ship, but a wave crashed into the ship, causing a violent shake. Unprepared, she lost her balance and fell into the open sea.

"MARELLA!!"
