I pinched his nose lightly.
"That's exactly why you're not my type."
I stood up without waiting for a response and walked away.
I decided I'd stay at Charlotte's place instead. It was safer there—at least we were both women.
Or so I thought.

I pressed the doorbell.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Nothing.
"Seriously?" I muttered. "What's taking so long?"
I was already considering the possibility that she wasn't home when the gate finally opened. A maid stepped forward—black hair, black eyes, pale skin. She looked like she was in her early thirties, elegant but cold.
"What do you need?" she asked flatly.
Wow. Smiling wouldn't kill you.
"I'm Solar Elizalde," I said. "I'd like to see Charlotte. Is she home?"
The woman froze.
Her face drained of color. Sweat formed along her temples, and her lips parted as if she wanted to say something—but no sound came out.
I frowned. "Is… something wrong?"
