While Haki wasn't usually visible, with his attuned sense he could see it. He didn't know if it was the Tobirama thing, but he could see the man's Haki.
"When a warrior trains hard, they are able to manifest their will, and use it to fight." He would say this while pouring said energy into his sword. The giant would then say:
"With enough practice and honing of one's skill, one could even split the heavens." As those words left the giant's mouth, he would swing his weapon at full force.
The boy would watch as the swing created what seemed to be a giant gash in the mountain, nearly splitting it in half.
So this was Haki. His brow furrowed a bit. Hold up — from the damage, it looked like some of the damage dealt by the attack came from inside.
Maybe that was a more advanced version of it.
"It's all about willpower, little warrior. If you train hard enough, maybe one day you will be strong enough to match me. Gegyagyagyagya."
The man's laughter was cheerful.

So he had Haki.
