Kairo jumped away, narrowly avoiding the strike from the giants.
He could do this, he could do it.
Flapping his wings, he remained in the sky. His fire behind his back lit up even more, as if going into overdrive.
The boy made several hand seals before landing on one that made his hand look like a beast opening its maw.
A giant creature appeared behind him, resembling a giant circle.
A giant snake — some might even call it a Japanese snake.
With all of his might, he launched the beast toward them. Its maw opened, ready to strike.
The two giants had their shields ready.
He began imbuing his sword with wing energy.
"Wind Style: Wind Tornado!"
Using his wings, he empowered the flames to evolve even further than their basic form, pushing them past their limits and turning his flames a light tint of blue.
Yet that wasn't what was on his mind right now.
He watched the explosion go off, already scanning for a chance to attack.
KABOOM
The area shook. A fifty-meter-wide area was reduced to nothing but literal ash, as if the literal world eater had come through and devoured everything.
The two giants remained standing, but their weapons...
Unable to withstand such damage, the weapons broke.
Upon noticing this, he paused. Even in the middle of an intense duel, he stopped — they had lost their weapons.
"Gegyagyagyagyagya!" — Dorry
"Gabababababa!" — Broggy
"You have truly become a strong warrior," Broggy said with a smile. The boy, having landed from flying in the sky, smiled back.
"I tried my best," he replied sheepishly.
That was all he did, really. He tried his best, and he succeeded — and that was all there was to it.
He had made immense progress. However, the thing he worried about was...
"Your weapons. How are you guys going to duel without your weapons?" he asked, curious.
The two laughed as if it were nothing.
"We are warriors of Elbaf. Anything can be used as a weapon."
"Oh, like those two huge corpses on the island," he said, pointing at the two giant bone structures.
As those words left his mouth, Broggy and Dorry seemed to realize something, as if they had reached post-nut clarity.
"Hunting game..."
"Heh!?" The boy was confused. Since when were they talking about that?
"I remember now. It's about a hunting game. We both managed to defeat powerful sea kings and needed to decide who was better," Broggy said.
"Mine clearly was better," Dorry replied.
The two laughed as if it were the funniest thing ever.
"They both seem to be adult sea kings. As for size, Dorry's is bigger while Broggy's is longer," the boy said, looking at the corpses.
The giants looked at him.
"How do you know how big they were? They're nothing but bones by now," Dorry asked.
"Well, I'm quite decent with the body. I inspected the corpses, seeing how dense the bones were, alongside other signs to determine their age. If my guess is correct, they died roughly ninety-seven years ago — roughly when you guys came to this island."
"Smart warrior." — Broggy
"Gegyagyagyagyagya!" — Dorry
"Gabababababa!" — Broggy
Their laughter was comforting.
He smiled a bit, then felt a nagging feeling in his chest. Wait — they now remembered why they were fighting, and their weapons were gone.
Did that mean they would return to Elbaf?
The thought wasn't comforting.
"Are you two going back to Elbaf now?" he asked curiously.
"Not yet. We still have something to clear up," Dorry said.
The boy looked confused.
"Like what?"
"We haven't fully taught you everything there is to know about Haki, and you haven't decided who is the best teacher."
"HEH?!" He was confused by Dorry's words.
"Wait, what?!"
"Gegyagyagyagyagya!"
"Gabababababa!"
"Don't fret, Kairo. It will only be three years. With your progress, we are sure you can improve quickly," Broggy said as he walked close to him.
"Once you have decided the winner, we can finally leave, and I, Broggy the Red Ogre, can be declared the strongest."
"Hey!" Dorry said, looking annoyed. Broggy simply smiled, as if to say, what are you going to do about it, little boy? I decided what's going to happen, and nobody can do shit about it. Not like they could; those two were practically equal, and a brawl between them wouldn't be good for anyone — especially Kairo.
He pondered a bit. He had three years. He wondered if he could get Ryo down in that time. Sure, he might not have empower coating yet, but with advanced use of Armament Haki, he was sure he could reach top-tier status.
He could do it.
He would get strong. No matter what, he must keep pushing forward.
He would be the best ninja this world had ever seen, and no one would ever compare to his greatness as a ninja.
{Kingly ambition detected}
{Conqueror Haki... Dormant (??????)}
Kairo however didnt notice it, probably wouldnt notice it for a while, a long time.
A/N Yes he will have conqueror haki.
