Chapter 18 - Ryo (18)

Kairo could be seen punching a tree, over and over again. He knew of Ryo, of course he knew what it was. While he wasn't an avid One Piece fan, he knew about most stuff Haki related.

For his knowledge of Haki, it went like this:

The three basics — Armament, Observation, and Conqueror Haki.

The first one gets used in order to be able to hit Logia users, and it could also reinforce someone's blow and allow someone to clash with a sword with their bare hand.

Advanced use of it included Ryo, when you let your Haki flow into the opponent and attack them internally or some shit like that. Luffy learned it in Wano as a way to damage Kaido.

With Observation Haki, one could even see seconds into the future. He hadn't gotten to that point yet, but he was sure he would.

If he remembered correctly, being able to see too far into the future just wasn't it. Like sure, he could see a whole 10 seconds, but couldn't Shanks just say nuh-uh to that shit?

Plus, wasn't Shanks found in a treasure box? If he remembered correctly from all those One Piece videos he'd been binge-watching, his full name should be like—

{Spoiler ahead, skip if you haven't caught up to the manga}

—was like Figarland Shanks. He had a brother, Shamrock was his name, right? He was like a Holy Knight and all that fancy BS. They were basically glorified terrorists, like pirates given titles.

While yes, he wasn't an avid One Piece fan, he only knew the basic stuff. He assumed that he would be using the Abyss in order to use the Flying Raijin.

A more advanced version of what the Holy Knights use to move around. Wouldn't that put him in Imu's sight?

{Spoiler ended}

Fuck.

Wait, didn't Tobirama invent a bunch of forbidden techniques? Couldn't he technically summon Rocks and Roger for this shit?

Anyway, back to Haki — he could fuse Conqueror with his Haki to have Conqueror coating, and this was able to bypass the God Knights' infinite regen.

Though now thinking about it, he assumed that whatever god Haki that shit was could probably cut through his summons. Fuck.

Anyway, back on the important stuff.

He punched the tree over and over again, trying his damn best to let his Haki flow through it.

He could feel the progress. He even tried it when fighting with Dorry and Broggy.

That was when his Haki bloomed the most, he loved it.

But for fuck's sake, he'd been punching trees and mountains for 6 months now, and still no progress.

Oh well, he didn't feel frustrated, there was nothing he could do about that. The only thing he could do was keep training.

He would get it, eventually. No matter what, he would get it.

He calmed down, looking at his clenched fist. He could see the Haki flowing through it. His Haki control right now was better than it was before. He closed his eyes, imagining his Haki flowing like a river, a tranquil river. Imagining said river wasn't hard, as he was punching said tree near one.

The sound of the water nearby helped him calm down.

Imagining his Haki as a liquid, and how it oozed from his body, flowing through him like water.

What seemed to be a flow of golden energy could be seen around him — around his whole body, matter of fact.

He cocked his fist back before—

BAM

He punched the tree, yet no damage seemed to happen to the tree. He opened his eyes.

Hm, still no progress. He gazed at his hand, the yellow hue it had to it now.

He sighed. He guessed that was enough progress for today. He still had to practice his wall walking, alongside his body flicker and other ninja-related skills. The better his Haki control, the better he would do at said exercises.

He pondered for a bit, wondering if he could use another way.

Well, food for thought.

Upon arriving at his home, he closed the door behind him, walked to his kitchen, and took a piece of meat from the storage nearby. He began cutting it, seasoning it even. It was still very fresh since he kept it cold.

He managed to cleanly slice the fish — it was already gutted, so all he had to do now was—

A fire appeared in his hand. He then pressed his hand on the fish.

The sound of sizzling could be heard as the fish was being cooked at a very rapid pace. His fire was quite hot, hot enough to melt metals, which meant he didn't have to wait the whole time — just a few seconds, give or take.

Perfectly cooked.

His brow furrowed a bit. Shit, he forgot to add some salt. Shit.

Oh well. Going to his kitchen, he took out a lemon, cut it a bit, and let some of that lemon juice fall on the fish.

There.

Shit was fancy now.

A/N He is most likely to get Kaido fruit, either that or tremor or goro-goro no mi.
