Chapter 24 - Losing Someone
Thankfully, Theon was not in the mansion, and neither was Mr Lythoryn; she had not seen him since Tuesday.
Louie followed her everywhere, made her breakfast and took away her dishes. It almost felt like everything was normal, and Idalia was the one reading too much into everything. But then, Louie would not look at her, and he hardly spoke a word to her.
Like, while she was navigating her way around the remote so Arik could watch TV, Louie had helped her without a word, then stepped back when he was done as if she were a plague.
That was obvious.
Something was definitely wrong.
Finally, while she cleaned the living room that was already clean for the hundredth time, she confronted him.
"I didn't see you yesterday, I was worri—"
"Routine. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm on duty. On Wednesdays and Fridays, it is Theon."
She nodded. That only half-explained it. It made her sad that she would have to see Theon again tomorrow, though.
