Chapter 30 - Two Lies and A Truth
It was hard to do nothing. With her mind recounting everything he else that could be going wrong around her in that moment, and everything that had already happened, it was absolutely difficult to sit still.
But she forced herself to sit still, watch TV with Arik and try to ignore the digital clock above.
It was Tuesday.
Mr Lythoryn had gone to work, and Theon had gone with him. Louie was seated on the sofa away from her, his attention on his phone.
This was boring.
As if Arik had heard her thoughts, he began to cry. But it was his teeth again. They were starting to grow, although it wasn't visible yet; Idalia could imagine that they were painful and uncomfortable.
It took a while to pacify him. Louie had to jump in with different toys, trying to distract him; the toys had been part of the things Idalia had found in her room. He was fed, then rocked, and now, he was in Idalia's arms, finally not crying anymore.
