The next morning,after the pathetic stunt Zenon roommate Robins boldly pulled on Zenons family entirely, although it got him ultimate furious that he consulted his friend Salim about it on their way to early morning lectures,Salim on the other hand felt really concerned and urged Zenon to reported him to the perhaps hostel authorities, either the security, administrator or their hostel governor
"We need to act on this swiftly,he might start bullying you in the room and threatens you thereafter" Salim commented.
Out of curiosity, he interrogated Zenon if Robins had been bullying him in some offensive ways that he had been probably afraid to speak up but Zenon on the other hand gave a no to all his questions which were all true.
"You know why I'm still in awe of this stupid stunt? Salim he has never does anything or behave in some weird manner that could triggers some fear in me or warrant me reporting him" Zenon added,he held his school bag firmly with his two hands as they were approaching the lecture theatre
"It doesn't matter,we just need to do something legally about it" Salim said, tapping Zenon on the shoulder which glaringly portrayed that it was a very serious conversation. Many students who happened to be in the same faculty and some probably in the same department with them,walked passed them but they never noticed them, not like they didn't noticed anyone walking passed them at all, they were just so engaged in their chit chatting as they were both giggling and somehow lost that they walked passed their lecture hall unknowingly. Fortunately, for them, Zenon immediately recollected that they were not in their supposed path to the lecture room and they had to trekked back again costing them some extra minutes.
"Whoa, the lecturer must not get to class before us Dimeji otherwise,I believe we both know the consequences right?" Salim said as they took to their heels without looking back or smiling at all like some puppy utilised for military training,they could not even looked at each other till they got to the lecture hall in their faculty panting heavily and their face particularly drenched with sweats, the lecturer was still absent at that moment,the both exclaimed
"(Both sighed heavily and stared at each other with smiles written on their sweated faces) Thank God". They dashed to their respective seats which was always in the front and they normally sat either behind or beside each other but that day they sat behind each other.After some minutes, these two boys who were still drenched with sweat unnecessarily began lamenting about how late the lectured could be almost every singly time theye were supposed to have that many taught them when a lady appeared on Zenon"s table,light in complexion,dressed elegantly and fashionably in their departmental uniform, her appearance already defined something peculiar about her, perhaps with the appearance probably from someone who hadn't met her before would have the initial perspective that she's from a pompous extravagant and wealthy background and maybe a girl that loves lavishing
"Hi,I'm Zendaya, you are?" Stretched out her hands intending for an handshake with Zenon,but the annoying brat had to glanced and tapped his friend Salim who sat behind him and had rightfully been watching the expression on Zenon face when Zendaya stood right in front of him, Salim on the other hand instantly acted like it was never his business to interfere at all
"Hey, handsome are you going to leave my hand hanging or are you always like this?" Zendaya inquired,sounding a bit disappointed and embarrassed as well whereas Zenon still buried his head in shyness trying so hard to composed himself at some extent but he couldn't resisted the fact that he was shy so he had to confessed
"Pardon my manners zendina(called her name wrongly) I'm...."he stopped as Zendaya cuts in
"Point of correction, that's never what I said my name was. it's Zendaya not that ridiculous name you just called me" Zendaya corrected him
"I'm so sorry daya, I don't...." He paused again as Zendaya cuts in
"(Frustrated) Zendaya!!!(she repeated her name thrice)dude only my friends got to call me daya and you are yet to be,Gosh you are such a weirdo" Zendaya cuts in again
"Pardon my manners Zendaya, trust me I'm not always like this. (Stood up and whispered to her ears) Just that I'm kinda shy do you understand? " Zenon ridiculously said
"( Nodded in agreement) So cutie! What's your name?" Zendaya said in a romantically tone and a rolling eyes
At this point, Salim was extremely fed up with their annoying drama so he interfered by introducing Zenon to Zendaya so the both could dismissed from his view
"(Salim stood up and walked to Zendaya holding Zenon's palm while he was sitting) Zendaya, his name is Zenon,so meet Zenon and Zenon meet Zendaya. I believe that's all(he sarcastically asked Zendaya)
"And Mr intruder, do you mind introducing yourself? What's your name?" Zendaya asked Salim
Funnily enough, Zendaya seemed to disgusts Salim but the Almighty Salim was pretending so hard not to unleash
"Yes miss busy body, I do mind and you don't freaky get to know my name,next time learn how to ask" Salim silenced Zendaya and she walked away feeling embarrassed that Zenon actually save him from earlier on.
It was past an hour and the lecturer was still yet to arrived talk more of lecturing them. Decisively, they chose to take a stroll to their faculty cafeteria to get some snacks for themselves for their first time ever since in school, on approaching there, Zenon sighted Zendaya from afar at the particular cafeteria they were heading to
"Salim,look(pointed his middle finger towards Zendaya direction)" Zenon irritatedly said.
"(Sighed extremely heavy and exclaimed" what kind of bad luck is this? Must we see this mermaid everywhere?" Salim reacted
" Wait! What! Salim we just met this girl today so what are you talking about? Zenon curiously asked
"No worries,let's walk pass her like she's invisible and yes she's invisible to us "Salim said in amusement. Meanwhile,As their planned to walked passed Zendaya could turned around, Zendaya stopped them to offered them the snacks and the soft drinks she got for the both of them. Without hesitation, Zenon grabbed it from her and him and his escort Salim as Zendaya could addressed him headed back to class to performed the final rites(to ate) on the snacks.
Few minutes later, their course rep announced the cancellation of the anticipated class after about the long awaiting of the lecturer by the students. Therefore, In no time, the class dismissed as everyone left for their residents, Meanwhile, Zenon and Salim initially went to the hostel in order to reported Robins to their school administrator and the woman assured to swung into action swiftly and after they left the hostel for a football practice on the nearby field opposingly with other boys from the other hostel seemingly like a competition between the two hostel boys but they were all the same level (freshers) to be precise. Other players saw it as a competition while Zenon saw it as just a mere practice as he was just dribbling and scoring like he was charmed
Everybody presented were impressed by his performance, certainly that was his first time engaging in anything relatively football since he gained admission into the school. Eventually the ball come to an end and the goal score was a blatant 7-0 scored by only Zenon throughout the match. However,unaware Zendaya had been watching Zenon performance during the entire time of the match, either way she was compelled by her conscience to appraised Zenon
"Zenon, you did absolutely amazing on the field, I. Never knew you were this flawless in football" Zendaya complimented him with a smile on her face
" Flawless in football? My sister no one is perfect, flawless sound overstatement, you might have as well used the word"impressive" that sounds unblemished right I think" Salim commented
" Yeah, you should continuing thinking and never cease to" Zendaya replied him furiously, as Salim was attempting to pissed her off,
"Yello!! Cool the temper guys we don't need this energy , they are bad for people like us ( he said amusedly), frankly,they are redundant"Zenon had to interfered as Salim and Zendaya were on the verge of exchanging words and throwing tantrums at each other.
"It's getting dark already, I should start going. See you tomorrow zen" Zendaya waved at only Zenon and walked off to her hostel which was just few minutes away from the field.
" I don't know why you are giving this girl a green light to converse with you" Salim commented with some fussed expression
"Giving her some ridiculous attitude would only warrant a wrong impression and perhaps a wrong image of us. We don't know who she is yet and what tangible she had to offer so why don't we give her some chances to get to know her more, then we could decide if she's someone that evidently possess something optimistic to offer" Zenon advisedly said
"You are right anyways " Salim agreed
" Dude I'm always right" Zenon jokingly replied to his friend
" Let's get going,we need to prepare dinner tonight" Salim said as the both bid other players on the field and headed to their hostel
