On Friday morning, Zuri and Zoe stepped out for am early morning exercise in their gym wears and sneakers,they held unto each other 's palm firmly as they preceded in jogging with the aim of attaining some kilometers to and fro. On their way coming, they had to stopped to get some table water in order to regained some strength before heading back home. Accidentally, Zoe tripped and fell brutally that she could barely walked at that instant,Her sister on the other hand had walked a miles ahead of her that she wasn't even aware that her sister had fell. Although,many people tried stopping her as she was jogging but fortunately she was on headphone, before she could realised that Zoe wasn't coming at her back some guys had gently rushed Zoe to the nearest health centre for an immediate treatment as there were bruises all over her body and somehow she was complaining of a chest ache. Fear gripped Zuri,she took her heels and ran as swift as she could back to where they stopped to purchased water initially.
"(panting heavily) Sorry please,I came here with my sister to purchase a bottle water and I can't seems to find her anywhere". She stuttered
Actually,it was a woman they purchased the water from but on getting back she met perhaps the woman's daughter,the girl kindly replied
"Ma I didn't met anyone when I came but there was a lady that tripped and fell brutally some couple of minutes ago and my mom with some guys had rushed her down to the health centre across that junction (she pointed towards the direction).
Zuri left panicking, she ran to the described health centre drenched in fears and tears,she took to her heels like she was involved in some relay race competition with a trained dog,flinged all the unnecessary stuffs she held in her hands excluding her phone and headphone.
Finally, she arrived at the described health centre and was deprived of seeing her sister at that moment,she pretended so hard to chill but failingly she couldn't bare it,she was just anticipating on setting her eyes on her sister to ensure her wellbeing
"Ma please let me see my sister,I have literally been here for an hour. Just let me see her please" Zuri pleased with the nurses frustratingly.
"Young lady, your sister is fine"the nurse responded
"Then let me see her"Zuri replied too with tears rolling down her cheeks
Not only was she emotional because of her sister alone but also because her phone had been buzzing with their parents call and she was unable to picked the calls as she's blank headed of how she would be enable to confidently face her parents and narrated what literally happened to Zoe on their morning joggings,Zuri kept on nagging the woman to let her in but the nurses refused, suddenly a young nurse who had been listening to what had been transpiring between Zuri and her colleagues emerged from one of the ward and rudely said to Zuri
"(Clapped her hands in amusement)All this hookup girls and useless elder sisters(referring to Zuri) that can't even look after their younger ones at the absence of their parents. So tell me(faces Zuri) if you had looked after her just like your parents instructed you to do would she have fell and got injured?"
That statement pissed Zuri off extremely,it triggered her anger and out of infuriation she dashed inside where the nurse who uttered the ridiculous statement sat and gave her a sizzling loud slap
" Maybe if your parents had trained you flawlessly,you would have thought about it countless times before you could uttered a single words from that disgusting mouth of yours"Zuri said and left the scene as she headed directly towards that ward she speculated her sister was admitted to, her reaction was drastic but who cares !the nurse should have minded her business after all
"Zoe you were sloppy?" Zuri said to her sister where she laid on the hospital bed
"(Tearing)I tripped and fell accidentally I never knew there were stones as I took my steps"Zoe sounded with blames likewise her sister who would actually took the entire blame for being negligent towards her sister either way,she shouldn't have left her at instance
"Mommy has been calling"Zuri said to Zoe with fears in her voice
"Zee,I'm fine now let's leave" Zoe stood up and sat at the edge of the hospital bed
"(Silent for a while,as she bent her head looking at the floor,then tears rolled down her cheeks again) Andrew will be coming today and he's probably on his way"Zuri said to her sister
"Are mom and dad aware?"Zoe anxiously asked Zuri
"Of course, probably the reason my phone has been buzzing with their missed calls" Zuri responded
"(Her phone rang) What the heck!I'm in a big trouble today, it might be mom calling" Zuri lamented uncertainly but it turned out to be their younger brother Zenon who had called them to request for money as usual and to also teased Zuri about Andrew's coming
"Sis, I'm pleading ensure you help me collect some penny from Mr Andrew. I need to survive in school" he said to her sister intending to tease her, though he sensed an uninterested and unspectacular response from Zuri so he asked her sister what was going on
"Zuri!you are sounding like you are crying is there something wrong? Zenon questioned her
"Zenon,Zoe tripped and fell on our way as we set out for morning workout. Now she's been admitted at the health centre opposite first bank that's not even the exact problem,I can't even get her home " she said to her brother weeping
"Call mummy so she could bring the car" Zenon replied her sister
Andrew call cuts in
"Dimeji! I think I have to call you back "Zuri ended the call with his brother so as to responded to his fiancee.
However, she revealed to Andrew about the incidence and few minutes later Andrew arrived at the hospital and normally as part of his kind gesture he offered to drove them home as Zoe got discharged,at that time it was past 12pm in the afternoon meanwhile their parents didn't bothered for an inch to go in search of them. Their mother asummed they were awaiting Andrew, so she dashed into the kitchen to prepared a sumptuous meal for their guest and their Soon to be in law.
On getting home, their mother summoned Zoe to her living room for interrogations
"Eghosa (she called Zoe's by her Edo name,after pestering her to confessed where she sustained this injuries from) Start talking. Did you and Ighovwen(Zuri's Edo name) by any chance involved in a fist fight with each other or with anyone in the street? Mrs Ikupaye furiously asked
Zoe glanced at her mother for having such a ridiculous assumptions
"Mummy,it was nothing serious I accidentally tripped and fell along that first bank down the street and as you can see the injuries have been treated" Zoe responded
"Sorry my baby! Anyways Eme(Zelda) will be coming today,they vacated just yesterday so prepare to welcome her" Mrs Ikupaye said as she stood up and left
