That Night, Zoe suddenly became a meddler,she couldn't watched her sister hurts for any reason. As she sat her father down at the sitting room for some quick conversation particularly about Zuri and Andrew while her mother was away for church services,she humbly served her father, Mr Ikupaye some Kolanuts and red wine to prevent him from falling asleep if the conversation is strictly ongoing,Zoe hurriedly fetched her elder sister Zuri who had been sulking in her room for the entire day. However, their father asked them to switch places from the sitting room to the dinning table so they could face each other as they engaged deeply in the conversation.
"When did all this happened and why didn't you thought of giving me a hint about it ?" referring to the previous men she introduced to her mother
"(Kept mute) Daddy, that's in the past I want us to talk about Andrew and how you are going to convince mom for approval" Zoe commented
"She(pointed his finger towards Zuri) should answer my question not you or have you become her spokesperson all of a sudden?"
"She is my sister"she grumbled with a frowning face,not knowing her father heard what she murmured to herself
"And she is my daughter" her father replied her with his eyes burning with fuss and an unsettled voice.
Mr Ikupaye was some how perspicacious of the entire situation but as a wise father he doesn't wanna authorized any command as the head of the house, although the entire household were well informed that their dad's final opinion supercede every other opinions both at home and at work including every other social association he joined within the community. As a matter of fact, he was more like an elder in their street in which their duty was to settled dispute amongst people.
At the end of the conversation with his eldest daughter, Zuri, he assured her but on a condition that she had to invite Andrew over for some days so that he could carried out his own personal observation to ensure she's in a safe hand after marriage. Moreso, he also assured his daughter to have a conversation with her mother so they could be on one side eventually.
" Daddy, you are the head of this house and as we all are aware, you have the final say, just tell mom you approve it so she could have nothing negative to say about them anymore" Zoe said to her father
"Zoe,it doesn't work that way"Mr Ikupaye said nodding his head in disagreement to what her second daughter just uttered
He then continued;
"She is your mother either way and I'm your father and that implies that we are your parents, we birthed you. You know what that means right?" He insinuated.
" I understand you are studying Law but This is not a court case where the judge wish is everybody command or where the judge command can neither be blamed nor violated. In this aspect,Your mother remains your mother and equally I your father remains your father, we have acquired more experiences than you both would have my final say ain't superceding anyone, this is a family affairs, nothing must be left unsaid.(He paused)
I will speak to your mom regardless, the conversation I'm having with her is not to convince her but to understand her perspective and perhaps,clear some respectively so we could absolutely arrived on the same conclusion"Zuri father, assured her
The two daughter stood up and went to bed, kissing their father good night.
At this time, it was almost 11pm in the night, their mother was already on her way when she received a call from an unknown number but it turned out to be Robins, ZENON roommate in school as well as hostel to informed her that ZENON was missing. On hearing the news, she stopped her car abruptly and swung into a sizzling prayer session inside her car for about twenty minutes before she took her phone and called her husband, Zenon father to apprised him. However, on getting home, the entire household had blatantly went into commotion, Everyone including his two sisters Zoe and Zuri begun bombarding his phone with calls for about an hour and surprisingly someone picked up his phone eventually
"Zen! Are you there?" Zuri asked panting heavily, his other family instantly joined her to ensure it was ZENON
"Efosa!!! Where have you been" his mother questioned again with a grieving heart
"(Coughed and sighed heavily)Why have you all been bombarding my phone with calls, my phone has literally been buzzing for hours now, did anyone informed you guys that I was ambushed or what" Zenon replied harshly but with a sleepy and tipsy voice.
His mother snatched the phone from Zuri as everyone gazed at each other confusedly
"Is that Efosa" his mom whispered to Zoe
"Mummy it's Dimeji, call me Ayodimeji not Efosa please"ZENON talked back as her mother kept whispering to her father in awe
"So, can someone tell me why everyone has been making my phone miserable?"Zenon arrogantly spoken
As his mother was about to replied him, Zoe snatched the phone from her to explained the rumbling situation that beheld them
"Dimeji, listen prudently, your roommate Robins called mummy with an unknown number at this ungodly hour to informed her that you were missing" She said with a shaky voice
" Missing"he inquired "that's awkward"he added
"Yes" Everyone chorused
"Efosa is everything alright?" Her mother queried out of curiosity and dread
"Mommy, I actually don't know exactly what came over him to played such a pathetic prank on you guys, if at all someone is missing he's probably the one cause right now he isn't in the room so how stupidly could he be that he had to unleash it by making his families miserable not mine"he insinuated
"Thank God, you are fine zenon. Just ensure you stay safe and if anything at all is bothering you I'm pleading do not hesitate to share it with anyone" his father reassured him and instructed Zoe to ended the conversation so everyone could go to bed as it was already 4am in the morning.
Normally, as African mother, Mrs Ikupaye insinuated curses on Robins, she even cursed his families as well and vowed to confronts him anyway God destined them to meet one another
