It was Tuesday morning, Zenon and his only friend Salim as usual stepped out for their morning classes which was within their faculty as the course happened to be their general departmental course, logically it is ultimately a core course for them to offered. On their way,as it was still early the two boys stopped to plucked some fruits that's within their school campus,they got to the class venue and met just few of their course mate including Zendaya and her friends inside the class with no lecturer,Zenon jumped rejoicingly and playfully cat walked into the class with his shoulder raised up right above his neck
"You see,I told you the man might eventually not show up"Zenon said to Salim just as he was about to had his seat which had always been the front seat sometimes in the last column of the class.
Salim sighed and responded "I don't think so,he might prove your instincts wrong today"
The two musketeers were busy jabbing each other with questions about a less serious conversation,they were so much energy invested into teasing one another that particular morning,that they weren't even considering how lousy they sounded or how non chalantly their attitude were
"Cat and mouse, can you both spare us a moment of silence in this class please?I beg of you"One of their course mate named Dozie offen. sively said to them, justifying them as cat and mouse publicly. However,that statement got Zenon and Salim furious but on the other hand,the best way to solve it was chosing silence and let go otherwise they might ended up throwing jabs at each other which was highly prohibited amongst students individually. Anyways,Zenon had to just gave Dozie some piece of sense talks
"You know you could have just address us with something nicer other than the claimed cat and mouse you just spew" Zenon said to Dozie while on his foot(standing)
"Eww,well certainly you both weren't gonna listen"Dozie replied too
In contrast,Salim stuck to his silence and before everyone could noticed he already placed his head on the locker and slept off like a typical kindergarten while Zenon was obviously occupied with playing games on his phone instead of choosing to sleep before the arrival of their supposed lecturer just like his friends had done. Few moments later, Zendaya whom her friends had been triggering and convincing her to walked up to Zenon courageously finally decided to shoot her shots as Salim was deep asleep. She walked up to Zenon truly and sat beside him staring at his game for some minutes meanwhile,Zenon was deeply carried away and lost, obviously unaware that anyone or Zendaya sat right beside him on the same seat as his. After spending some minutes unnoticed, the wayward miss Zendaya gained some ideas instantly to either spread her arms across zenon's neck maybe he would noticed her or disrupted his view by swiping the screen ofbthe phone which she did as her instincts has guilded her
"What do you want Zendaya?"Zenon asked her with a straight and non smily face
"Nothing,just wanna say a friendly hello"Zendaya replied him turning her face away probably felt shy or something else
"A friendly hello (Zenon said and chuckled),we both know I can't believe that,so tell me why exactly are you here?"Zenon being inquisitive
"I know you wouldn't believe me,but trust me it's just a friendly hello no iota of strings attached. See you later"Zendaya said as she was about to exit Zenon seat In disappointment
Zenon tried to held her back by dragging back her wrist,
"Zendaya,you don't have to be shy. I'm just a boy by the way I briefly overhead your Conversation with your friends earlier and I sensed it was about me,so what's awkward about me that you guys can't confront me about it?Zenon asked again
"I just want to know you more"Zendaya replied him with a frustrated face
She had her seat back but at this time it was right oppositely facing Zenon
"Like I said earlier,I'm just a boy striving to navigate through some dynamics"Zenon humbly responded her for the first time
"And what is that supposed to mean"Zendaya got curious
"Should we do this now or probably after this scheduled class Is over" Zenon queried
"I'm pretty sure,he isn't coming anytime soon,so why don't we just do it now" Zendaya who had been curious and was eagered to heard Zenon spills
"My name is Zenon Efosa oladimeji Ikupaye,civil engineering student. And you?"Zenon initiated a classified corner intro
"Wow(she exclaimed)My name is Zendaya Matilda olorunmo,civil engineering student too"Zendaya introduced herself formerly just as Zenon had done earlier on
The both glanced at each other,they had some chit chat and inaudible conversation and they were obviously almost at each other's throat to show how deep the both were being playful.
Moreso,it was time for lunch,the lecturer was still nowhere to be found and as being a new student they don't have the temerity to retire to their residents without hearing from the lecturers if either they class would be canceled or postponed. The two newly formed clique woke Salim,who had fell deeply asleep hoping the lecturer would arrived anytime soon,by the way,he got awoken up by Zenon and Zendaya hopefully to go had lunch at the nearest cafeteria in their faculty.
"Bills on who?,cause guys I don't have a single dime in my account at the moment"Salim asked
Before,Zenon could volunteered to chest it, Zendaya cuts in
"Uhmm. Don't worry I gat you,bills on me "Zendaya reassured
"Wait!what about me Zendaya?" Zenon surprisingly inquired
"You can fend for yourself guy I don't care about you" Zendaya teasingly said with a grinning face
"Wow(Zenon exclaimed)so you don't care about me now( he clapped in amusement) there's no problem young lady" he replied too
The three students jogged their way to the cafeteria and got their requested lunch, amazingly Zendaya eventually chested the bills and paid for the three which she had never done for her female friends ever before
The class finally dismissed at 3pm whereas these three decided to stay back till 5pm as Zenon's football team where having a football game right that evening. It was getting late already, they escorted Zendaya for just a few distance and headed back to their hostel looking extremely excited.
"Was it just me,or today was enthusiastic "Zenon complemented
"Gosh!! Thought I was the only one "Salim added
"But we need to go prepare dinner,so we wouldn't starve overnight "Zenon reminded her friend of food just as usual
"(Salim exclaimed) Exactly what gives me ivk about you,you sounds like a foodie sometimes meanwhile you can't finish a half of sachet one naira snacks"Salim teased
"C'mon that's too bad,I eat when I ought to"Zenon replied
They got to their hostel and headed to their respective room as they bade each other a jolly good night
