Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Witnessing yet another miracle, the three girls felt their minds reel once more.

They were forced to confront the truth: the being before them wasn't human.

He was a monster with supernatural powers.

By the time they snapped out of it, they were back in the original alley.

Ye Yu slowly approached Aiko and handed her a phone.

She took it with trembling hands, as if her soul had left her body.

From the police station to the mountaintop and back here—all in less than an hour.

Yet it felt like she'd lived through a century.

"This is your new phone. I'll be in touch."

With that, he ignored them and walked away, vanishing from sight.

Only after confirming he was truly gone did the three girls collapse into each other's arms and sob uncontrollably.

Ye Yu, now heading home, had no intention of personally watching over Karuizawa.

He'd left insects on her—he could check her situation anytime.

As for the three girls, he wasn't worried at all.

The moment they considered betrayal would be their last.

He bought a few things, then teleported straight home.

Back at school, Karuizawa sat anxiously in her seat.

She braced herself for the usual harassment.

But strangely, the afternoon passed in rare peace.

When she got home, assuming Ye Yu had handled it, she sent him a grateful message.

Meanwhile, the moment school ended, Fuutaro rushed to Yuka Education.

Murata studied the boy: handsome in a youthful way, with determined eyes despite his inexperience.

He couldn't help but admire Ye Yu's eye for talent.

He'd reviewed Fuutaro's file—the kid was definitely worth cultivating.

Following Ye Yu's special instructions, Murata greeted him warmly.

"President Murata, hello! Uesugi Fuutaro reporting for duty!"

Fuutaro bowed respectfully.

Murata waved it off with a kind smile.

"No need to be so formal, Uesugi. I'm sure you already know the details. We're on a tight schedule, so let's skip the pleasantries."

He pulled out a prepared contract and handed it over with a smile.

"Take a look. If anything doesn't sit right, just say so."

Fuutaro accepted it politely and scanned it carefully.

He was grateful to Ye Yu, but contracts demanded scrutiny.

To his surprise—and yet somehow expected—the terms were flawless.

Everything matched what Ye Yu had promised, and some clauses were almost too generous.

When he asked about the actual work, he was stunned.

His job was simply assisting with student recruitment.

Most of his time would be spent… studying in the supervised study hall with everyone else.

The hall offered free air conditioning, Wi-Fi, snacks, drinks, reference materials—and even master teachers for free Q&A.

For others it was paid, but the company covered his fees.

There was even a late-night shuttle to take him home.

This wasn't a job—this was paradise!

As for the "no holidays" and "must stay in the study hall when not working" rules?

He didn't care at all.

The contract allowed leave for legitimate reasons.

This place was so good he wanted to bring his little sister too!

"President Murata, where's the president? I'd really like to thank him in person again."

Murata understood completely—conditions this good were unheard of in his decades of work.

"The president is extremely busy—probably closing a deal right now. But both he and I see great potential in you. Work hard!"

Deeply moved, Fuutaro signed without hesitation.

Meanwhile, the "extremely busy" Ye Yu…

Sat staring wide-eyed at the five quintuplets, holding a box.

"This is what you call studying??"

Nino glared at the open box in his hand, feeling played.

It was full of… glasses.

What's he implying? I'm the only one who's nearsighted—is he mocking me?

Ichika quickly stepped in to smooth things over, shooting Ye Yu a light glare.

"He's probably joking. Let's start studying now."

But Ye Yu shook his head and began handing out the glasses.

Only then did Nino realize she'd misunderstood.

The frames were sleek, futuristic—clearly not ordinary prescription lenses.

"No studying today. I'm taking you girls to play a game."

The quintuplets: ???

Even Nino—the one who'd made the bet—was baffled.

Are you serious? With our grades, you want to waste time playing games?

"Stop messing around! Are you making fun of us?"

Seeing Nino stand up in anger and the others look equally skeptical, Ye Yu smiled calmly.

"You promised to listen to me during this period. Or… are you scared of losing?"

Scared of losing?

Nino sat back down furiously and snatched a pair of glasses.

"Fine! I'll see what excuse you come up with when we fail. When you lose, get out of our lives!"

Ye Yu's expression didn't change.

He gestured for them to put on the glasses.

He donned his own pair as well.

Their vision blurred for a moment—then they found themselves in a strange space.

Pure white room, long table in the center with several face-down golden cards.

"What just happened?! Where are we?!"

"What did you do to us?!"

The sisters' minds spun. They'd been in the living room seconds ago!

Ye Yu smiled.

These glasses were the creation of a tech genius combined with illusion abilities—one of his most trusted subordinates from the apocalypse.

Back when there were no phones, computers, or internet, this had been their base's only entertainment.

"I told you—we're playing a game. Come draw your identity cards."

Hearing that, the girls hurried to the table.

"Does a game like this really exist? Is this… legendary virtual reality?!

Has technology advanced this far?!"

Miku covered her mouth in excitement.

"It's simple. You'll understand after one round."

Ye Yu casually flipped a card showing a general.

He was playing the custom version—the one he'd used with other girls back in the apocalypse.

His role was fixed.

Among the five sisters, one would randomly become his "wife."
