**Chapter 5
Seven Ring – First Rage**
Our story begins exactly where the last chapter ended.
After checking his rank, the MC, Navi, felt completely disappointed.
"F-Rank… how am I supposed to fight monsters with this rank?"
His confidence shook, but he didn't stop.
Navi asked the system,
"How far is the monster?"
The system replied,
"One kilometer."
Navi took a deep breath.
"Alright… let's see what I can do once I get there."
After some time, Navi reached the location.
From a distance, he saw a giant bear-type monster brutally devouring another monster's corpse. Blood was everywhere.
Navi hid quietly and observed.
"How am I supposed to kill that thing? I don't even have a weapon…"
He called the system.
"Assess. Tell me its weak point."
The system scanned the monster and said—
"Its eyes are its weak point.
Its body is extremely strong.
This monster also possesses a special skill."
Navi frowned.
"What skill?"
"A powerful roar.
When it screams, the enemy's mind temporarily stops functioning.
You must avoid this skill at all costs, Master."
The system asked,
"Have you thought of a plan?"
Navi replied,
"No… but starving to death isn't an option either."
Then he looked at the ring on his hand.
"Scan this ring. Tell me how I can use it."
The system tried to scan it—
Suddenly, question marks filled the entire system screen.
Navi panicked.
"What happened?!"
The system replied nervously,
"This ring… it feels incredibly powerful.
For a moment, I thought I was going to crash."
Navi sighed.
"Fine. You rest. I'll handle this myself."
"Understood, Master."
Using nearby materials, Navi crafted a simple sling (gail) so he could attack from a distance.
He sharpened several stones and carefully tested his aim.
He took his first shot—
The stone missed, barely passing by the monster.
The monster immediately became alert.
It started looking around.
Navi froze and hid. His heartbeat raced.
Suddenly—
ROAAAR!
The monster screamed with terrifying force.
Luckily, Navi was far enough, so the effect was limited.
But the monster still found him.
It charged.
Navi narrowly dodged the attack and quickly aimed again.
This time—
The stone hit the monster's eye directly.
Blood burst out.
The monster went berserk.
Its body started growing larger.
Then it screamed again—much louder.
This time, the sound hit Navi directly.
He fell to the ground, blood dripping from his wounds.
"Is this… the end?" Navi thought.
The monster slowly moved toward him.
But Navi clenched his teeth.
With trembling hands, he aimed at the monster's second eye.
At that moment—
The ring on Navi's hand began glowing red.
Red energy wrapped around the sling.
Navi released the stone with everything he had—
BOOOOOOM!
The stone pierced through the monster's eye and
blew its entire head apart.
The impact destroyed the building behind it.
The ground was completely cleared.
The monster collapsed—dead.
Navi stood frozen.
"What… was that?"
His wounds began healing rapidly.
Navi called the system.
"System, do something with this monster. Cook the meat."
The system replied,
"Yes, Master. This is a Monster Core.
You can use it to create weapons or increase your power."
Navi asked,
"Can you increase your power too?"
"Yes, Master."
"Good. Store the food. Store the sling as well."
"Done, Master."
Navi added,
"Can you make a weapon using the monster's large claws?"
"Yes, but I need the Monster Core."
"Take it."
The system replied,
"Weapon created. Food is ready."
Navi smiled and began eating.
"That was my first real hunt."
Back to the present—
Navi spoke calmly,
"It's been one year since I started hunting monsters like this…
And yet, I'm still only an F-Rank."
