Chapter 8 – Silent Weapon, Awakening Power
The story begins exactly where the previous chapter ended…
The monster steps out of its cave—
and the moment it does, it sees everything frozen in ice.
The land is completely devastated.
The monster's arrival has turned the entire area into ruins.
Navi watches all this in shock.
"So many powerful beings existed here…"
"And I am… this weak?"
A heavy feeling fills his heart.
Fear, anger, and determination burn inside him.
"I must become far more powerful."
Slowly, Navi walks toward the weapon.
His heart pounds violently.
Fear grips his entire body.
Navi speaks to the system—
"Why are you silent?"
"Say something… don't stay this quiet."
"I've never seen such a powerful monster before."
"Just its presence made it hard for me to breathe."
With trembling hands, Navi tries to lift the weapon—
BANG!
The weapon does not move even an inch.
Instead, a terrifying force blasts Navi away.
He crashes to the ground.
His hand is badly burned.
"Why… why is this weapon not even allowing me to touch it?"
Navi asks the system—
"Why is this happening?"
The system replies—
"One moment, Master. Scanning."
After a few seconds—
"Master, this weapon is refusing to acknowledge you as its master."
"Only someone strong enough can wield it."
Navi lets out a faint smile.
"Alright."
"Then this weapon is useless to us."
The system sounds surprised—
"But Master—"
Navi interrupts—
"It only recognizes the powerful."
"And we are not powerful yet."
"There's no point wasting time on it."
Navi turns around and walks away…
But the moment he moves farther—
A faint light emerges from the sword.
A soul appears…
watching Navi as he walks away.
She smiles.
And then it is revealed—
she is the soul of the girl who was killed earlier
by that very monster.
Navi moves ahead and notices—
countless monsters lie dead all around him.
Seeing this, Navi feels relieved.
"At least one good thing came out of this."
"I won't have to hunt monsters myself."
He orders the system—
"Collect all the monster cores."
Navi helps as well.
Then his eyes fall upon—
The Octopus Monster Core.
A terrifyingly powerful aura flows from it.
The system approaches and says—
"Master, all monster cores have been collected."
"We should enter the cave now."
"It's not safe outside."
Navi nods.
"Alright, let's go."
As he leaves, Navi looks back at the weapon one last time.
"Can't you store it in the system inventory?"
The system replies—
"I can store it, Master…"
"But I'm not sure I can contain its power."
After thinking for a moment, Navi says—
"Then forget it."
Inside the cave—
Navi asks—
"When will my weapon be ready?"
The system answers—
"By tomorrow."
"The observation won't take long."
Navi nods.
"Good."
"Now help me observe this monster core."
The Octopus Core lies before him.
"Begin."
Navi closes his eyes.
The observation process begins…
Energy slowly enters his body.
Pain—
unbearable pain.
Blood flows from the corner of his mouth.
Yet Navi endures it.
The system says—
"Just a little more…"
A full day passes…
The process completes.
Navi checks his status—
His eyes shine with excitement.
He has gained two incredible skills—
Ultra-Fast Healing –
Recovery speed comparable to monsters.
Water Breathing Skill –
He can now breathe underwater without any difficulty.
Navi is filled with joy.
Then the system speaks—
"Master… your weapon is ready."
Navi looks ahead—
A terrifyingly powerful aura surrounds the weapon.
And the weapon's soul
finally senses Navi's presence…
