Chapter 4 - Chapter Three

Haylen's POV:

It was already lunchtime.

I was seated at the back of the class, humming a song and drawing when a pair of hands covered my eyes.

I touched them, from the familiar faint scent of coffee and milk, I didn't need to be told that it was Charles.

"Charles?."

"Tada!." he removed his hands and sat beside me, "You always catch me."

"Because you are pulling that dumb play."

He made a face, which caused me to laugh.

"I heard something today," he scratched his auburn hair, "from Monica and her girls."

I leaned backward as I crossed my legs. Monica was my rival, who always try to make everything a competition between both of us.

"What was that?."

"Something about you trying to befriend Jacean. When did you talk to him? When did you even start looking his way?."

"Just feel like. I'm starting to feel him."

"Feel him? That is, you are having feelings for him now?."

"Eww!." I giggled, "Have feelings? Are you for real Charles? Don't you know me anymore?."

"The ice queen," he shrugged, "that doesn't matter though. There's an 80% chance you will fall in love with him. He's one handsome fellow."

"Then I should have fallen in love with all my exes."

"One thing that makes Jacean more attractive than your exes is that he doesn't lick your ass trying to please you or worship your beauty. The shit your exes do when they see you makes their attractiveness decrease to a 2 out of ten." He said, and to be painfully honest, he was right.

I rolled my eyes, "Even though Jacean acts like I'm one kind of a plague, that will never make me fall in love with him. I even have boys way hotter than him fighting over me. It's not possible for me to fall in love with him, or have feelings for him."

"It's possible."

"It's not."

"If you say so." He gave up trying to argue with me.

I checked the time on my watch. It was few minutes to break.

I got up, "Okay then Charles, see ya later, need to make up a bit."

I blew him a kiss before walking away, mentally rolling my eyes at the disgusted look he gave me.

.

.

.

Walking to the cafeteria, I saw Zoe and Charles sitting in our usual place, eating and discussing.

But they weren't the one I was searching for.

I looked around fully before catching sight of Jacean, with his crew, seated by a corner.

And Monica with her gang were just few seats away from them.

It's obvious that witch is trying to get his attention.

I smirked. Not on my watch.

Ignoring the surprised looks and talks as I passed Zoe and Charles, I carried my tray of food and stood right between Jacean and a red head.

Jacean had a confused and annoyed expression, which he tried to conceal.

The red head blinked his eyes, "Haylen, I think you're in the wrong-."

"May you excuse me please?." I gave him a sweet smile, but threat was clear in my grey eyes.

That made him to shift farther away from Jacean in order to make space for me to sit.

I immediately dropped my food on the table and held his arm as I kissed his cheek, which shocked everyone.

"Oh babe, I've missed you." I touched his cheek, "Did you miss me?."

He looked almost frantic at the act I was displaying, and from the corner of my eyes, I could see Monica turning into a red potato.

Good this plan was annoying her too.

Not minding the looks of bewilderment on Jacean's friends' faces, I picked up a spoon of rice and pushed it towards his mouth.

I expected him to open his mouth, but instead, he just stared at me, annoyed, letting my hand hang in the air.

It was when I used my other fee hand to pinch his thigh did he open his mouth to protest, and I took it as the perfect time to push the food into his mouth, shutting him up completely.

"That's my boy!." I grinned at him sweetly.

The redhead looked at us, with a look of suspicion, "You…are you guys dating?."

He questioned, and I didn't give Jacean a chance to answer.

"Jacebaby didn't tell you," I tilted my head towards him, "we fell in love . I don't know if he loves me, but I know I do. The feelings came the day he saved my dog from falling down a tree."

"Jacebaby?." One of the guys repeated, trying to stifle his laugh.

"You never said anything like that to us Jacean." The redhead, whose name was Thomas, said. He was frowning.

"Maybe the upcoming football match and everything just makes him feel pressured a lot he forgot to tell you," I faced Jacean, "am I right, my love?."

He was yet to answer when Thomas suddenly hit the table, "I'm off guys." Then he just walked away angrily.

"What is his problem?." I asked no one in particular as he marched out of the cafeteria.

The next thing I knew, I was pulled up by Jacean.

"You excuse us." He said to his guys before pulling me out harshly.

He dragged me as he walked, walking so fast I nearly couldn't keep up with the pace until we stopped by a quiet corner.

He faced me, "What were you thinking?."

I placed my hands on my hips, "What was I thinking?."

He sighed, "When the hell did we fall in love? When the hell—fuck, when did I even save your dog? How could you cook up such a terrible lie."

"Terrible lie you say?," I arched my brows, "everyone believed, I even saw look of envy in thier faces."

"Why would you say we fall in love with eachother?."

"Because it's true." I said confidently, "I might not be sure about you falling in love with me, but I'm damn sure I'm in love with you."
