Chapter 7 - Chapter Six

Haylen's POV:

"For fuck's sake Haylen, stop with your childish act I'm fed up." Jacean paced around the corridor, while I just silently watched him.

"I only did that to get my revenge for what you did to me yesterday," I patted my face, "how could you throw a pretty lady out of your car with no regards? And besides, we are an item Jacean, I see nothing wrong with me cheering you." I said firmly.

He glanced at me like I was stupid.

"We are a thing? When did we become a thing?."

"Since I fell for you."

He bit his lip, obviously annoyed, "We both know you lying about this Haylen."

"No we don't." I smiled, "We both know I'm saying the truth."

"Because of your silly act, you made my team lose the first match."

I gave a sheepish smile hearing that, "Of course, you were captivated by my beauty."

"One of the reasons I hate you." He pushed me away, his face stoic.

Damn, couldn't this dude loosen up even a bit?

To woo him was really hard.

I sighed as I turned away from him, "Bye for now, I've got something important to do. See you in History class."

His eyes circled, "When did you start offering History?."

I never offered History. Like who would? Learning about dead people like when and where they were born, their early lives and deaths and the stupid impact they left in the world.

Clearly, that wasn't my line. But I'd attend the class today because of Jacean, who was offering it.

Arching one of my brows, I faced him and questioned, "So I don't have the right to offer subjects I love now?." I ignored the pissed off look on his face.

It was his punishment for throwing me out of his car yesterday. I wasn't used to walking home and had my legs sore throughout last night.

"Damn you Haylen—."

The rest of his words were cut off as I giggled and walked away.

.

.

I stared at myself in the mirror, thinking about nothing. My mind was blank. After making myself up, I decided to stay a little bit in the rest room before going for the next class.

As I turned, I felt someone behind me and saw it was Zoe, with a frustrated look.

I raised my brows in confusion.

"What happened?."

She sighed, "Mom wants to set me up on a date with one dude, who's the son of her friend. Got the message just few minutes ago," she facepalmed, "I don't think I'll be able to leave school today with you."

Zoe's mother was a sucker for setting Zoe up with different boys, all in the name of securing her future.

She was doing that to ensure Zoe would have better relationships with the wealthy people, which would help push her potentials.

And the most annoying part of it was that Zoe always ended up falling for those guys.

It was in such way that she and Jacean got into a relationship.

"Why you sad about it? You will surely fall in love with this one." I shrugged.

She rolled her eyes before groaning, "Hay, you just don't get, I'm still in love with Jacean."

"If you really are still in love with him? Why then did you place such silly bet?," I looked back at the mirror, "if you love him, talk to him about it. I see no point in hurting someone you love."

Yes, my emotions might be as warm as ice cubes, or be as stable as a tornado, but I know for a fact that you don't hurt people you love. It was a simple fact. The people I love genuinely were aunt Katherine, Zoe, Orieva and Charles. And the thought of them being hurt would break my heart really bad.

They were precious to me, and I just wouldn't be able to stand the idea of them being harmed in any way. Not emotionally or even physically.

Zoe sighed, "Hay, you don't get."

I gazed at her through the mirror, "I don't get what? For the fact I'm not used to feeling anyone doesn't mean I don't know the right things to do. Why don't you talk some sense into him rather than all these?."

"Are you trying to make me feel like the bad person here now?." She frowned.

" I'm the one that suggested about the bet, and I willingly agreed to do it. I'm not making you feel bad but Zoe, I know you are smart enough to know what I'm talking about." I pointed out.

She spunned me around and held my shoulders tightly with a vulnerable expression, "I want to hurt Jacean because he hurt me first. I want to hurt him because he left when I'm still madly in love with him. I want to hurt him because I need him to experience how to it feels to be left behind and abandoned. Jacean was one of the guys I truly loved and to be honest, he broke me. I'm telling you this because you're the only one that gets me."

"Okay okay." I pulled her hands off me, "Jacean is a damn jerk, I know, and I'm still trying to make him fall for me."

She grinned as she patted my face, "I swear Haylen, you're literally the best! You really have to help me."

"I already am."

Smiling, she blew me a kiss, "Thanks girl! Gotta go!."

.

"She's really pretty."

"Yes she is, when did she start attending History class?."

"Now I see why boys crave for her."

"She's undeniably beautiful C but has the heart of of snake. No one dares to confess feelings to her because of her brutal rejections."

Students whispered among themselves as I relaxed by a corner. It wasn't hard to pretend I didn't hear them. Almost every day, I get such attention.

I could feel Miss Piper's suspicious eyes on me, yet I played it off, pretending not to have noticed.

"Miss Denvers?." She called, and I looked up with a bright smile, "Yes Miss Piper?."
