The noon breeze carried a wave of heat. Kiana stood alone beside her suitcase, letting the wind toss her silver-white hair before instinctively reaching up to tuck a few mischievous strands behind her ear. She wore a dress befitting a lunar princess; pure white and deep purple elegantly intertwined as her hem fluttered lightly.

One leg, encased in black tights, stood straight, but as one's gaze shifted down... the shoe on her other foot seemed to be from a completely different pair.

Bronya had intended to call out a loud greeting, but she sensed something and looked to the side. Kaito's eyes were practically beaming, his fantasies seemingly fulfilled.

"Ki... Kiana!"

His voice wavered instinctively for half a second.

The beautiful girl in the distance turned her head at the sound, her face instantly blossoming into an expression of both grievance and joy.

"Bronya! I've come to live with you!"

Her intimate posture made Kaito feel a bit emotional. Truly, the bonds between women were subtle; they could do the most outrageous things together, yet the smallest trifles could cause a massive fallout. He reached out and naturally took her suitcase.

Kiana sniffled, her gaze wandering back and forth between Bronya and Kaito.

Bronya introduced him: "Kaito. A junior from my street-racing days and currently an employee at my studio."

She hadn't expected Kiana to actually run away from home—and in such a frantic rush that she wasn't even wearing matching shoes.

"Sorry for the trouble, Junior Kaito~"

Kiana sighed in relief, her tone turning light and airy. "It's a pity you aren't a cute girl. Otherwise, I'd have to act all excited and actually squeeze your hands and face a hundred times just to satisfy my heart with some skinship!"

As long as he's not Bronya's boyfriend, staying at her place won't be awkward.

Kaito: "..."

The heart that had been full of anticipation for so long felt half-frozen. This way of speaking was a bit different from the one in his fantasies.

With a small hop, Kiana nimbly detached herself from Bronya's embrace. In the process, her ankle twisted subtly, but she didn't seem to care. She proceeded to kick off the mismatched shoes and stepped onto the ground barefoot.

Kaito's extended hand froze in mid-air... Was the Senior always this much of a "bro"?

"By the way, we're not taking a motorcycle, right?" Kiana asked, bursting with energy.

"No, but I really didn't bring any spare shoes," Bronya shrugged, glancing at Kaito again. His "shining armor" seemed to have shattered; his entire art style had turned to a despondent grey-and-white.

"It's fine. My bank card shouldn't be frozen yet." Kiana held her high heels in one hand, restlessly looking around.

Kaito opened his mouth but said nothing. Usually talkative, he suddenly found he had no desire to strike up a conversation.

Back in the car, he gripped the steering wheel so hard his knuckles turned white. He was mourning his lost youth. In the rearview mirror, he saw Kiana toss her heels aside and slump into the backseat. Then, with zero regard for her image, she sprawled across Bronya's lap, nuzzling her face against her.

She let out a satisfied sigh. "Saved."

Normally, Bronya would have caught up with Kiana, but seeing Kiana acting as casual as ever, she instinctively looked at Kaito.

"Are you okay?"

Just as Bronya was about to pat Kaito on the shoulder, Kiana cut in. "Don't worry, a little thing like this can't defeat this Young Lady."

It was just running away from home. She had once moved to Shenzhou as an international student just to scrape together a degree. Plus, she had met her best friends in Shenzhou and even starred as a female lead—incidentally turning her sister Sirin, who always bullied her, into a major villain in the game just so she could beat her up. Her luck was usually good; she felt this runaway trip would lead to great things too.

Bronya went silent for a moment. "I wasn't asking you..."

A question mark slowly formed over Kiana's head. There were only three people in the car; if you weren't asking me, who were you asking? Realizing something, she sat up quickly.

Bronya! You said yourself he's a junior and an employee. Even if he really is your boyfriend, you can't blame me for lying on your lap!

"I... I'm actually fine."

Kaito hesitated for a long time before giving a wordless smile. Just smile. Smiling is never wrong.

Kiana's puzzled gaze drifted between the two again, filled with inquiry. "What's the deal?" she whispered, nudging Bronya.

"He's your fan," Bronya covered her face, unable to hide her laughter. The joyful, muffled sounds echoed through the small cabin.

"Boss, don't talk nonsense! That's not it at all!"

Kaito instinctively floored the gas. The speed surged from 180 to 190 km/h, rapidly overtaking the automated vehicles cruising at normal speeds.

Kiana: "?" She didn't get it.

"Apparently, you left a very deep impression on him at some point," Bronya's voice was muffled by her hands, thick with laughter. "He thought you were a melancholy, literary beauty."

Bronya doubled over, her body shaking with laughter, her radiant form trembling as her face turned as red as a cooked crawfish.

"No! Boss, stop spreading rumors!"

The car went even faster. Kaito grit his teeth, wanting nothing more than to end this trip and return to the familiar environment of the office. He'd also found a clinic for his sister's mental health—one with a 100% approval rating. He planned to spend the afternoon buried in work, deaf to the world.

Kiana's face went stiff. While this was funny, she noticed something.

"THE SPEED IS OVER TWO HUNDRED!!!"

She let out a shrill scream, death-gripping the front seat. "We're gonna crash! Bron—Kaito! Watch the road! Watch the road!"

They flew through the streets like a bolt of lightning. If it hadn't been for the fact that the turns near the office were too sharp for drifting, the speed wouldn't have dropped so gradually.

Kiana slumped in her seat, her gaze hollow. Help. Who drag-races in the city? Aren't you afraid of losing your license?

Bronya didn't mind. After opening her door, she acted like a gentleman and went around to open the door for Kiana. Finally, she leaned over the seat and looked curiously at Kaito.

"Don't be sad. I actually do know a real 'cold beauty.' How about I introduce you sometime?" She was suppressing a laugh, but it was starting to leak out again.

"Thanks, but no thanks."

Kaito looked like all the life had been sucked out of him—only slightly better than Kiana, whose soul was still trying to catch up with the car.

Bronya chuckled, giving the dazed Kiana a shake. "Come sit in my office for the afternoon. We'll order some essentials, and tonight I'll let you experience my driving skills personally."

Kiana turned her head woodenly.

When the elevator doors opened, Kaito ran into that energetic young girl from earlier again.

Rin looked at the soul-less Kiana, the "smirking" Bronya, and Kaito, who looked like he wanted the world to end. She thought about it for a second and decided not to get off the elevator.

I'm gonna watch this drama for a bit longer.

"Interview go well?" Kaito asked, holding the door open.

Rin nodded proudly. She was a fresh graduate with four years of experience, after all!

"See that silver-haired girl next to me? That's the Chief Producer of Reason Studios."

Rin understood instantly. You don't eavesdrop on the boss's gossip in plain sight. She quickly scrambled out of the elevator to prepare for her first day tomorrow.
