Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Agent Baymax

Early in the morning, soft sunlight poured through the large floor-to-ceiling windows into the bedroom.

Sleeping soundly, Luca mumbled softly and turned over, wanting to feel more of the morning sun.

However, the warmth on his face seemed to diminish slightly.

Still groggy, Luca sensed something and instinctively opened his eyes.

Immediately, in his blurry vision, a "white steamed bun" that almost filled his entire field of view was squatting by the bed, staring at him motionlessly.

Holy sht!

A chilling sensation shot from his toes to his scalp.

Luca felt like he used sheer willpower to hold back a scream.

Even though he didn't scream, any trace of sleepiness had vanished.

His eyes widened like bronze bells, staring fixedly at Baymax in front of him.

"What are you doing?!"

"Detected that you emitted screams of pain during sleep. I was waiting for you to wake up to provide effective treatment and care." (●—●)

Screams? Did I have a nightmare again? Why don't I remember anything?

Fully awake now, Luca pushed himself up with his left hand to sit against the headboard, then fumbled for the prosthetic arm he had taken off to charge before sleeping.

"Wait, didn't I modify your startup voice command? Oh, right, the modified chip is still uploading data downstairs."

Understanding the situation, Luca rubbed his face roughly. While attaching the prosthetic made by Stark, he asked casually:

"So? How do you plan to treat a nightmare?"

"Scan result: Your hormone levels have stabilized."

"...Fine. Next time, remember not to squat by my bed while I'm sleeping. You almost scared me to death. Even though you are cute, Baymax."

"Received. New instruction recorded."

Seeing Baymax like this, Luca reached out and playfully kneaded its marshmallow-like belly in revenge before getting out of bed.

Shoes on, wash up, stumble downstairs.

In the dining room downstairs, Shamila was just eating breakfast.

"Master, you're up..."

Just as she was about to greet Luca, Shamila noticed Baymax following closely behind him, shuffling down the stairs with small steps.

Although she had seen Baymax and knew this robot might help treat the Madam...

Adapting to its presence so quickly wasn't easy.

"Morning, Auntie Shamila."

Luca yawned as he approached the dining table, grabbed a still-warm sandwich from a plate, and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Master, I'll have someone..."

"It's fine, this is enough. I need to go down to the basement lab first. Once I'm done there, we can head out."

"Okay, Master. The commercial armored vehicle I ordered from the company last night should arrive shortly. Take your time; we're in no rush."

Luca nodded perfunctorily, gulped down a large mouthful of milk, grabbed another sandwich, and ran excitedly toward the basement.

In the corner, the 3D printer was still chugging away.

Several finished parts had been ejected by the machine and were piled haphazardly on a soft mat nearby.

However, seeing the support structures and connecting plates still attached to the printed armor pieces, Luca decided without hesitation to wait until all components were printed before sanding and adjusting them together.

Turning to the computer, the motion data analysis he started uploading last night was finally complete.

"Hehe, starting today, you are Agent Baymax~"

Excitedly, Luca wrote the word "Agent" on a brand-new black chip with a childish flourish, then couldn't wait to insert it into Baymax's chip slot.

As the data loaded, Baymax, who had been standing still, tilted its head at Luca. Its tone carried a confusion that shouldn't belong to a robot.

"These combat and tactical movements do not seem conducive to making me a better healthcare companion robot?"

Hearing Baymax's puzzled voice, Luca smiled and patted its big belly, teasing:

"But this allows you to protect me better, understand? The best medical care is to prevent all possible dangers before the patient gets hurt~"

Hearing this, Baymax blinked its large black eyes several times, then answered thoughtfully.

"Understood. I am Agent Baymax!" (▇━▇)

Luca couldn't help but smile.

He looked at Baymax, then at himself.

"Hmm~ Fat Man and Little Boy? Sounds like a powerful combo~"

Although he wanted to test the upgraded Baymax's power right now, looking around at the ridiculously expensive experimental equipment in the lab, Luca decided against starting a brawl here.

Beckoning Baymax, he trotted up to the courtyard above, ready to start the test.

At this moment, Shamila, having finished clearing the table, followed the sound to the courtyard, curious to see what new thing Luca had come up with after being busy for so long.

"Baymax, your turn to perform~"

"??" (●—●)

Seeing Baymax confused, Luca slapped his forehead and elaborated.

"Try the newly loaded combat module. Start with military boxing."

Receiving the clear command, Baymax immediately slapped its hands to its sides and stood at attention.

Immediately following were lunge punches, throat strikes, snap kicks, horse stance strikes...

A series of movements executed with vigorous power, completely shedding its previous goofy demeanor.

Amidst the whistling punches, grass and soil in the courtyard flew everywhere.

Shamila was about to speak, but Luca issued a new command first.

"Baymax! That tree!"

Luca pointed casually.

Baymax didn't hesitate. Pushing off the ground with both feet, it launched itself like a round snowball—whoosh.

Next instant.

Baymax threw a fierce punch.

BOOM—

A loud explosion.

The tree in the yard, roughly thick enough for a person to hug, exploded. Thick wood fibers shattered and scattered, and the entire tree slowly tipped backward toward the swimming pool.

But before the broken upper half could crash into the water, Baymax had already rushed over to catch it. Then, shuffling with its small steps, it slowly placed the tree crown on the open ground nearby.

Seeing this, Luca's smile widened, and he gave Baymax a generous thumbs-up.

"Awesome!"

At this moment, Shamila, who had initially wanted to spar with Baymax, was completely stunned.

However, after hesitating for a moment, she couldn't help but blurt out.

"Master... that redwood tree cost about 20,000 dollars."
