"Hiss—"
After carefully reading the item description on the panel, Luca sucked in a breath of cold air, making his own meager contribution to global warming.
It wasn't that he didn't recognize "Conan's Tracking Glasses." It was just the first time he realized this little gadget had so many functions integrated into it.
Logically speaking, eavesdropping, tracking, telescopic zoom, thermal imaging... none of these functions were individually magical black tech.
But a 20-kilometer tracking and eavesdropping range, combined with all those other miscellaneous functions, all condensed into a pair of plain-looking glasses?
And specifically into a thin, semi-rimless frame??
The only thing Luca could compare it to was probably the "EDITH" glasses Tony Stark would make for Spidey in the future, which might be slightly superior.
"However, it seems I happen to have similar accessories for all these synthesis materials on hand?"
He rummaged through the living room again.
Baymax stood dumbly to the side, watching Luca's actions, unsure if it should help.
Fortunately, it didn't take long for Luca to gather all the materials needed for the [Criminal Tracking Glasses].
However.
"Do bone-conduction Bluetooth headphones count as micro-headsets?"
Thinking was useless. Luca decisively lay on the floor and drew another array.
He carefully placed the glasses frame in the center and arranged the other synthesis materials around it.
"Okay, tracker and bug are fine."
He ignored the fact that the tracking equipment set was the size of a suitcase.
"Micro-battery is fine too."
He completely disregarded how much power a button battery could actually provide.
"Sure enough, if size isn't specified, an antenna qualifies!"
A satellite dish the size of a pot lid was placed at the edge of the compact array.
"Phew~ Good thing I'm smart!"
Considering the synthesis requirement for a "micro-headset," Luca had a brainwave. He dismantled a newly arrived bone-conduction headset into pieces, leaving only a few wires and the necessary vibration speaker, tossing even the microphone aside.
As expected, the last item passed the check.
But if this works... later, if the synthesis panel asks for a large speaker, could I just put a Bluetooth earbud inside a giant megaphone and pass the check?
Putting that unverifiable guess aside for now...
Looking at the completed array, Luca pressed his hands down again.
Synthesize!
White light surged and faded.
Then, a plain-looking pair of black semi-rimless glasses lay quietly in the center of the array.
Without hesitation, Luca picked them up.
But seeing the clean, simple design with only a single button on the front of each temple, Luca was stunned again.
"This? So many functions, and only two buttons? No manual either?"
Only then did Luca remember Baymax standing silently beside him.
"Baymax, can you scan this and tell me how to use it?"
Baymax's eyes lit up immediately, quickly scanning the [Criminal Tracking Glasses] in Luca's hand.
But just as Luca looked expectantly at Baymax after the scan, the robot said blankly:
"Structure approximates non-prescription eyewear. Not medical equipment. No relevant user manual found in my database. Suggest wearing."
Thud...
Luca, waiting for an answer, face-planted onto the floor and rolled his eyes speechlessly.
"If you didn't know, why scan so enthusiastically..."
But before Luca could finish his sentence, Baymax extended a chubby finger and tapped the [Tracking Glasses] in Luca's hand.
Immediately, the projection screen on Baymax's belly lit up, and various chaotic images flashed rapidly.
"No user manual found in the target electronic device. No similar products found in online databases."
Luca was dumbfounded.
He stood there foolishly holding the glasses, watching Baymax operate.
Only after Baymax spoke did he close his mouth and ask in shock:
"Baymax?? You have this function???"
Baymax turned off the screen on its belly, tilted its head down at Luca, and answered matter-of-factly:
"Yes. According to protocol, I can download any data available on the public network via network-enabled devices to enhance my healthcare capabilities."
Luca was stunned for a moment, then realized. The description of the [Tracking Glasses] did mention network connectivity.
But for Baymax to connect just by tapping, without any interface or "consent" from the device, and even inspect its internal data...
That was a bit too ridiculous.
"Public network? Any data?"
"Under protocol, I am only permitted to download medical and care-related data and store it in the relevant partition. It will not affect other modules in my programming."
"Uh, okay, okay."
I underestimated these black-tech capabilities. Having such a function and using it just to learn nursing knowledge? This thing is a master hacker!
Putting his exploration of Baymax aside for now, Luca refocused on the [Tracking Glasses].
After a thought, he didn't hesitate. He took off his gold wire glasses and put on the [Tracking Glasses].
Hmm, not bad. Even though they're non-prescription, my original vision wasn't that bad, so it doesn't affect my sight.
But how the hell do I use this? And where are the promised tracker and bug?
While thinking, Luca pressed the button on the left temple.
The next moment, a faint light flickered on the left lens, and it lit up.
Simultaneously, a very faint click came from the left temple.
What's this?
Luca reached for the small protrusion that had appeared on the temple. With a gentle pull, he removed a button-sized device about the size of a fingernail.
Looking at the button device in his palm, and then at the semi-transparent, radar-like display filling his left lens with a flashing red dot in the center...
"So, this is the tracker?"
"So, this is the tracker?"
A slightly delayed echo reached Luca's ears through the bone-conduction headphone in the temple.
Okay. Tracker, plus eavesdropping function.
Amused, he slotted the tracker back in. To figure out the other functions, Luca pressed the button on the right temple.
This time, no tracker popped out, but the screen that had lit up on the left lens switched to the right.
Huh? Didn't it say tons of functions? Where's the zoom? Thermal imaging?
Just as Luca thought this, the display on the right lens switched rapidly.
First, it turned into a square frame, magnifying the view in front of him. Then, it immediately switched to a red-and-green thermal image, revealing the distribution of heat sources inside Baymax.
"Voice control? No! I didn't say anything!"
After several tests, Luca was shocked to discover that these so-called [Criminal Tracking Glasses] were controlled entirely by thought, as long as he held down the button on the temple.
Whether he wanted to eject the tracker, switch to tracking mode, zoom in or out on a specific spot, lock onto and analyze a target, activate thermal imaging, or connect to the internet...
Everything happened instantly with just a thought.
The speed of recognition and the precision of judgment were incomprehensible.
The buttons on the left and right were actually just switches to toggle which screen to activate.
"Holy sht! They packed a brainwave sensor into glasses this small???"
