After looking too much at the sky, I realized that I have no way of knowing the time. We are lucky at earth that we can somehow manage to guess just by looking at the sky.
How on earth am I going to guess on this situation?
Sob.
Oh well.
I need to take a look at my surroundings first. I don't know if I'm lucky or quite unlucky that the street seems deserted. I should probably hurry up and learn more about my surroundings before I see more of those creatures I just saw earlier.
The street I'm currently at looks like straight out of a Renaissance period. I'm standing besides a Renaissance type of common house with several floors up. What makes this different from "Renaissance earth" is that each floor has different colors such as it looks like a child painted it. Good thing that the trees looked like earth trees but it's moving. LIKE LITERALLY MOVING.
How is it moving, you may ask? Just imagine a person dancing with no face. Right.
I knew that any sane person would freak out.
After staring at the trees for a few seconds or minutes, I can assure myself that they won't attack me. So it's time to cautiously explore the place and find a safe spot.
Honestly, how do these characters in the novels manage to adjust within a short amount of time??! Just how????!!?
Oh well, it's my first day after all. I think.
I tried walking to the end of the street. Somehow, it got darker and I have a bad feeling if I continued going, I won't end up alive. Thank goodness for my instinct. Seriously, listen to your instinct.
So I went back to the spot where I left earlier and sat down. So I'm faced with 4 choices:
1. Go outside the gate
2. Stay where I am (for what? It's not like someone is going to rescue me or something)
3. Explore the end of the street (and get killed)
4. Try to blend in and meet the world's "people", hoping you won't get killed or worse.
So I decided to take my chances with the freaky trees. Here goes nothing.
....
Cuss word. Cuss word. Cuss word.
I didn't know trees could run.
Especially faceless trees. CUSS WORD.
....
Apparently this is becoming like a horror story. I'm hoping it won't become one or my sanity will be going away.
....
After what seemed like ages, I found a small cave in the forest. When I say small cave, literally where you have to crawl to go inside. Good thing the inside of the cave is enough for me to stand up though my head reaches the ceiling.
It's a bit warm inside here and there's no other opening so I think this will be my hiding place for now.
I need to rest. Sleep.
I don't need to eat for now and good thing I'm used to skipping meals so I think I can survive without eating for now. But I should probably find water when I wake up.
....
When I woke up in what seemed like several hours of sleep, I decided to go out the cave because it feels a bit cramped.
I crawled out and stretched my body.
The surroundings feel a bit peaceful but quiet. I've seen enough to make me freaked out but I had enough of being scared and if I die, then I die.
It's definitely night time now and the night sky is gorgeous. I saw the giant planet and somehow it looks comforting. I saw several small moons and somehow it looks like the moon on earth times many.
The color of the night sky is unlike what I've seen before. It's dark blue but with a dark violet hue with so many stars, moons and the giant planet. It's so beautiful. I can see several comets (?) passed by though I'm not sure whether they are comets. But the color , wow, it looks like a stone of gold passing through with streaks of gold behind.
It's so hard to describe what I've seen because it's so different from what we've seen on earth.
I tried walking with no particular destination. If I die, then I die. Somehow, I heard a stream of flowing water?
So I tried walking towards the sound and lo and behold, it's a small river. The river looks like a glass. Small flowers are beside it and it smells heavenly. The flowers looked normal but different. So I cautiously went beside the river.
I tried touching the flowers and it feels so soft and smooth. It smells light and sweet like a cotton with a sprinkle of honey. It has different colors such as yellow, red and orange. Should I try tasting the petal just to check if it's edible? After all, it smells good and anything that smells good must be for eating. So I tried putting one petal on my mouth.
I was wrong.
Cuss word. Disgusting.
....
The water tasted good though. It tastes fresh, cool and a bit sweeter. Like a cold water with mint.
Somehow refreshed, I finally have the energy to start exploring. Before, I used to be afraid to explore by myself. But with no one to turn to, I had to force myself or else, I will lose my sanity.
After walking for awhile, I noticed that although the trees may seemed normal looking, those trees with different colors can move. Obviously. But somehow when I tried walking and ignoring them, they won't attack or touch you. Good. Because I'm a bit freaking out.
Now with my adrenaline starting to rise up and with so much energy from sleeping, I feel a bit daring to go back to the village/city.
Of course I won't directly go walk through the gates like I have endless lives or something.
So I tried peeking by the gates while ignoring the faceless trees trying to go near me. Hmmm. They seemed to like me.
The gate is not moving anymore so I tried to go inside. The faceless trees must have sensed something that they seemed like they're freaking out. One short faceless tree went near me and its branches are quivering. It's alright, I tried reassuring them.
The color of its leaves are pink. I named it pinky. It seems to like its new name since it is dancing.
+1 for trying to survive with sanity still intact.
