Akari thought about where she could put the black egg. The female snake had said to leave him close to here, but Akari wasn't sure where. So she walked around for a while before she saw a mountain in the distance. Akari moved closer to it, and when she was in front of it, she remembered it. She had come to this mountain once, chasing a demon mole. He was small, clever, but ruthless. She'd had a hard time chasing him because that mountain had hundreds of paths. So it was easy to get lost.
She had found many traps before she finally reached the demon and killed him. Akari didn't know if the mountain was occupied by other demons after him. But she thought it could be an excellent hiding place for the black egg.
Akari got inside and, with the lesson from last time, she was very careful hiking the mountain. Fortunately, it was empty. Probably because Akari was so mad at the time, she had purified the whole mountain with her spiritual power, and the demons didn't dare to occupy it.
Akari sat on the ground and sighed, tired, when she arrived at the top. She looked at the black egg and thought it was heavy despite its appearance. To be honest, at the beginning, she thought the black egg was dead because she couldn't feel any demonic energy from it. Only after she felt a few signs of life inside it did she decide to search for a hiding place. However, it was strange; usually, the children of demons had at least a little demonic energy, no matter how small. But this black egg didn't have anything. If it wasn't for the size and the strange shape of the shell, she would have thought it was an egg of a normal animal. She understood now why the snake man had wanted to kill him.
Akari shook her head. Well, it wasn't her problem. She only had to fulfil her promise. Akari got up and started to draw protection parchment around the cave. She also placed some on the paths leading to the cave at the top. Then, she went down and built a little altar with the ashes of the female snake, and finally, she created another barrier that covered the whole mountain. It was the first time Akari had created a barrier so big that it was a little weak. To strengthen it, she cut her palm and drew a protection parchment using her blood to fortify it.
Akari thought it was enough, at least for a while. Even with the fortification, it would last only a month. So she had to return. To verify everything was alright, Akari returned to the top and placed some leaves and branches around the egg to make a kind of nest. Once all the work was finished, Akari sat down for a moment to rest, and she murmured.
"You'd better appreciate all the effort I'm making for you, kid." Akari felt her eyelids grow heavy and blinked to chase away sleepiness.
"I have to return with Inuyasha and the others soon... The imbecile of Naraku probably has already revived those warriors..." Akari nodded off until she couldn't resist staying awake anymore and fell asleep.
**
Akari woke up frightened the next morning. She couldn't believe she had slept the whole night without caution. It was lucky she was inside the barrier; if she hadn't been here, she could have been discovered by the world consciousness. Akari glanced at the black egg and thought it wasn't in vain that she exerted herself so much yesterday. At least she could sleep calmly.
Akari got up and said. "I'm leaving. See you, little snake".
She quickly regrouped with Inuyasha and the others. They had information about Naraku, so they departed soon. In that place, they heard the stories about the seven warriors. Inuyasha smelled blood, and when they got there, they found a person or a zombie.
"Who are you?!" Inuyasha asked.
"You are Inuyasha, aren't you? Oh, you are so cute". Akari's lips tightened. Jakotsu really was unique.
They started to fight, and the sword of Jakotsu was strange and hard to defend against. Inuyasha was hurt many times. However, the poison of Mukotsu interrupted the fight, and Jakotsu escaped.
Inuyasha was after Jakotsu, and Akari didn't stop him. She wanted to try something. Mukotsu, as the original story, poisoned them and kidnapped them.
"Hehe, I can do what I please with such a pretty girl". Akari looked at him with nausea. She mobilized her spiritual power to neutralize the poison. If she managed to do it, she would achieve immunity to various poisons.
At that moment, Sango, Miroku and Kirara arrived, and Akari took advantage of Mukotsu's distraction to use her power to the fullest. When they were poisoned by Mukotsu, Akari had already purified a few of the poison, enough to move her hands.
She drew a dagger and cut his neck without hesitation. Akari coughed up a mouthful of blood, but she didn't care about the punishment of the world consciousness in comparison to the satisfaction of killing that idiot.
Akari saw the person who arrived. Sesshōmaru. He only saw her and asked.
"Where is Naraku?" Akari coughed and said.
"We don't know, but he probably is nearby because we heard his evil aura was seen around here, and he gave those zombies fragments to attack his enemies. That's all that we know".
"Sesshōmaru! What have you done?!" Inuyasha, who had arrived, shouted.
Akari coughed and said. "Shut up, Inuyasha. He didn't do anything to us". Inuyasha came closer to her and asked.
"Seriously?" Akari nodded.
"Yeah, he tried to help us instead."
Inuyasha looked up, but Sesshōmaru had already gone. He had the information that he wanted, so he left. Akari was so tired that she fainted as soon as she clarified the misunderstanding.
