Tundra finally arrived at the base with Hirune sleeping on his back and her stuff in his hands by the time everyone was asleep. He put her stuff down and gently let Hirune down on the couch before walking into the kitchen. It was already five AM, and it was a school day so he decided he would try to make some breakfast for himself, Hirune and Kala before they go to school. Only issue was, he only knew how to cook canned goods and knew way too well how disgusting they are, so he decided he'd try to cook an omelet.
As he went to get some eggs out of the fridge a voice behind him called out, "What are you doing?" He turned around to see Hirune standing there looking down at him with her hands on her hips and eyebrows slightly furrowed.
'Great, she's back to being mean!' Tundra thought before responding, "I was going to try and cook something for you milady. I just thought it'd be a small act of kindness I could do for you."
Her expression softened a bit, "Well do you know how to cook?"
"Not at all," he said while setting the eggs on the counter.
She shoved him with her elbow softly, "Moron! Allow me to cook for us! Don't get used to it though!"
It only took her a couple of minutes to cook him and herself some omelets, during which Tundra was watching closely to learn how to cook one next time. She glared at him hard, the proceeded to pull a small little void black chunk out of her pocket, "Here, save it for later. It's a little bit of the black hole from earlier."
Tundra shook his head, "Hirune, I may be able to eat black holes now like you, but I still can't hold them."
She mumbled something under her breath then sighed. "Fine! I'll hold onto it for you then, just tell me when you want it," she said while setting the dishes on the table.
As they ate it was eerily quiet, Tundra couldn't help but feel awkward about the whole ordeal but it wasn't anything too bad. Then Hirune suddenly spoke, "Hey, uh... Considering how there's government assassins after us, wouldn't it be better if we skipped for a while? I mean, it'd put the other students in danger, and we probably wouldn't want that right?"
Tundra sat on that question until they finished eating before answering, "I mean, you're not wrong. But Ellen might not agree. There's actually been a similar situation with a team member that's no longer with us that said the same thing, and she didn't listen to the for some reason. Although her not listening did cause the death of many children." He sighed as he scratched his head a bit, "Have you... Ever heard of the Great Grecian Punishment a hundred years ago?"
She frowned, "'Course I do, they teach it in history, why?"
"Well, let's start with this: Ellen's way older than she appears. She's actually a daughter of Vereta, the goddess of time and reincarnation. So, if I remember right, she's roughly six-hundred-thousand years old. If you didn't know that's how long ago the human race appeared doubled. Back in 521 BCE in the country of Grecia, which you could probably guess by the name. But she was friends with a daughter of Zeus. By the way her being friends with demigods and saints is common so don't get too surprised. But the people of Greece believed she was lying about being a daughter of Zeus, because of this she was afraid whenever she had to go to school because she still didn't have control of her powers. So, she told Ellen the same thing you just told me because she saw Ellen like an older sister, and as I said, Ellen sent her to school anyways. I'm pretty sure you can guess what happened next from the name of the event, but when she got to school that day, she was brutally killed by a large group of rampaging citizens that had gotten in. Enraged by what happened to his daughter, I know crazy, Zeus being a good father? I wouldn't believe it either if Ellen hadn't been there at that time. But enraged by his daughter's death, Zeus smited everyone in the school and everyone closely related to the people in the school. The same thing has happened many times after that."
Hirune nodded, "So, why doesn't Ellen just not send them to school for a while until things calm down?"
"You see after that Zeus cursed her so she couldn't learn from her mistakes or history," Tundra said as Ellen, Kala and Clint walked in.
"What? Are you giving your little girlfriend a history lesson?" Kala said teasingly as she reached into a cooler and pulled out a fish.
'So, I didn't need to cook for her huh?' Tundra thought completely ignoring her statement.
"Ellen! I have an inquiry!" Hirune announced while standing and slamming her hands on the table.
"You still have to go to school," Ellen stated dryly while pouring herself some tea.
Hirune rolled her eyes, "Yellow king?"
"You know that's actually one of the most threatening things anyone has ever told me, but you're still going."
"Can you not learn from your mistakes?"
"Didn't Tundra tell you?"
"He did, but I don't care about your little curse. Actually, you're aware of it! How does it still work if you're aware of it!"
"It's a Grecian curse; it's going to work no matter what."
"And why should I listen to you?" Hirune said getting up in Ellen's face.
She suddenly gasped for air as she felt a hollow in her stomach. Looking down, there was a hole blasted clean through her stomach. Ellen then muttered something and she was healed. "You're going to go and that's final. Now go shower you haven't showered in a day," Ellen said while pointing towards the direction of the shower. Hirune tumbled a bit as she walked to the couch and grabbed her clothes before going to shower.
"Tundra, I trust you to stop a similar incident from happening again. Don't let me down," Ellen said as she walked off somewhere.
