Rowan did not follow them immediately.

He lingered near the company entrance, pretending to scroll through his phone while his peripheral vision tracked movement through the glass doors. The young man emerged first, shoulders relaxed, steps light, the smug ease of someone who believed the world had already bent in his favor. He laughed into his phone, head tilted slightly, unaware of the way eyes followed him, not with envy, not with anger, but with quiet calculation.
Moments later, the older man appeared.
