Chapter 13 - Exchange

Benjamin stood in the living room, his eyes immediately falling on Kirsty, who was weeping, through the open bedroom door.

Countless iron hooks hung from the ceiling, clanging and clattering.

The gallows of death spun with a hissing sound.

Kirsty was being held by Teeth Grinding, tears streaming down her face, pleading desperately.

Kirsty stared at the doorway. In her most helpless and desperate moment, the villa door suddenly flung open, and a figure radiating light appeared in the doorway.

"Dean!"

Kirsty cried out excitedly, filled with hope. she was really too scared.

But then she quickly came to her senses. Dean was just an ordinary person.

Her voice trembled with despair as she cried out urgently,

"Run!"

"Dean, run! Don't worry about me!"

Kirsty struggled desperately, trying to break free of Teeth Grinding's grasp, but it was all in vain.

At this point, even a cannon couldn't break Teeth Grinding's arm, let alone the strength of a girl.

Hearing Kirsty's words, Benjamin felt a sense of relief.

However, despite such danger, he still dared to come, which naturally means he has a reliance or a bargaining chip.

The hall door behind him slammed shut. The last ray of sunlight vanished; his escape route was gone.

Benjamin took a deep breath and walked towards the bedroom.

He looked at the Hellish Four before him, this was the first time he had truly seen them.

He had seen them many times in movies in his previous life, but only when facing them in person could he truly feel their oppressive aura and the agonizing, twisted atmosphere.

"Do you know a man named Frank Cotton?"

Benjamin carefully observed the Hellish leader's movements, and ready to take out the photo that could arouse Pinhead's memories at any time.

"He escaped from your grasp."

"Yes, but even if he escaped, what does that have to do with you?"

Deep Throat spoke from his wound.

"I've captured him. I'll use him to exchange for Kirsty."

Benjamin said.

"Perhaps I prefer you."

Deep Throat replied.

"Perhaps… I'd rather hear his repentance… perhaps!"

The High Priest, Pinhead, spoke slowly, his calm voice carrying an undeniable authority.

"Yes, exchange Frank for us."

Kirsty, hearing this, shouted excitedly.

"You can capture Frank, take him to hell, and spare me and Dean."

The High Priest, Pinhead, ignored Kirsty and stared at Benjamin, saying calmly,

"I know you, you will eventually find your way."

"After all, evil seeks evil!"

Benjamin already knew his future path,

"This is the path I chose."

The High Priest, Pinhead, continued expressionlessly,

"I need a reason now."

Benjamin understood, Frank was only enough to exchange for Kirsty, but he won't be let off for intruding into their territory.

"Two."

"Two for two!"

Benjamin held up two fingers:

"Besides Frank, there's a woman… Giovanna Dursley."

The High Priest didn't speak again. A surge of electricity swept through, and the four disappeared from their spot, the room returning to light.

Benjamin had already prepared for the worst.

Fortunately, Pinhead wasn't one to meddle and didn't bother with him, a cursed disciple who had escaped from the Ice Cenobite.

Perhaps in Pinhead's eyes, Benjamin's fate was destined for hell.

Kirsty rushed over and hugged Benjamin tightly, sobbing.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here!"

"Let's end this."

Benjamin comforted her and then released Kirsty.

He was not willing to act like the characters in the silly plots of movies, who, having just escaped danger, hug each other and cry, only to be killed by the monsters in return.

He turned to look at the box Kirsty had thrown to the ground.

The box, which should have been a square, remained octagonal and hadn't been restored.

It seemed Pinhead's team had only temporarily left; they were waiting for him to fulfill his promise.

Benjamin picked up the box and examined it. He felt nothing, it seemed he couldn't grasp how to close the box—he lacked the aptitude for it.

"Dean, don't touch this box, throw it away!"

Kirsty anxiously reached for the puzzle box and tried to throw it away.

"Kirsty, the box hasn't returned to its original cube form. They could reappear at any moment."

"It's not safe yet. We have to go to the attic of your father's wooden house and get Frank back."

Benjamin gently took Kirsty's trembling hand and led her towards the door.

Benjamin didn't have to take Kirsty to the wooden house with him, but only Kirsty could figure out how to close the box.

Only when the box was completely closed could the cenobite be sent back.

In the story, the foursome changed their minds at the end and tried to take Kirsty with them, but Kirsty forcibly closed the box.

"Get Frank back? You said he came back from hell, my father…"

Hearing this, Kirsty worried about her father and forgot all her grief.

"Don't worry, your dad injured his hand. He is getting it treated at the hospital. I had someone stop him from going home."

Benjamin's words reassured Kirsty.

"That's good. Dean, what exactly happened?"

Benjamin walked to the wrecked Derson sedan and found that the radiator was cracked and the car couldn't be driven.

"It's a long story, I'll explain later. Kirsty, now you need to study this box carefully. Only when you turn it off completely, can you get rid of the entanglement of hell."

Benjamin handed the box to Kirsty.

Kirsty took the box with lingering fear. This thing had given her a psychological trauma.

"I'm here."

Benjamin said.

Those simple words gave Kirsty a sense of security. She slowly calmed down and began to carefully study the box.

The two didn't stop any cars, but slowly walked towards the cabin, giving Kirsty more time to figure it out.

As they approached the cabin, Benjamin glanced at Kirsty.

Kirsty nodded firmly.

The detectives hiding nearby, seeing it was their employer, didn't intervene.

Benjamin led Kirsty into the cabin, to the second-floor attic.

He picked up the suitcase from the floor and opened it.

Frank and the woman in the baseball cap's hearts, wriggling and brimming with life, lay inside the woven bag.

Benjamin looked at the two energy sources with some regret.

But since he had already reached an agreement with Pinhead to exchange for these people, the two cursed disciples had to be handed over to him.

High Priest Pinhead hated deception and usually operated according to an unspoken set of rules.

He didn't care if someone escaped within those rules, but if truly enraged, this second-in-command of Hell would go berserk, and there was no stopping him for now.

Benjamin pondered for a moment, then reached for the two hearts with his left hand, activating his absorption ability.

After the hearts quickly shrank by half, Benjamin stopped using his ability.

His physical attributes increased by about ten percent.

"Frank and Giovanna are here."

Benjamin picked up the box, which had transformed into a hexagonal star, and said softly.

The box flashed with electricity, and the surroundings quickly darkened.

The sculpted deer head hanging on the wall at the end of the corridor suddenly emitted a painful howl, opened its mouth, and spat out a pool of corpse worms.

The laughter of a baby and the wails of an old man continued to rush up the stairs to the second floor, disappearing into the wall as if a swarm of something had passed by.

Finally, the sound of chains rang out, and the domain of the four cenobites descended into the attic.

Benjamin placed the two shriveled hearts on the ground, gripped the box tightly in his left hand, and took Kirsty's hand with his right, retreating to the doorway.

the four members of the Pinhead group emerged from the portal to hell that had been torn open in the wall.
