Jay's POV
Keif woke me up in the morning with a slight pat on shoulder, I woke up from his shoulder and I was a little embarrassed but he just gave me a smile and I noticed the library was open and we quickly got up and went out without anyone noticing because if someone did they might think otherwise, we bid bye to each other I quickly went to my dorm,
And both of them bombarded me with questions
Sara: " Jay, where were you? You did not come Last night and your phone was switched off, is everything alright ?"
And I just told them all that happened about me getting stuck and I thought they will tease but they were genuinely worried about me because Sara said, " thank God, you weren't alone"
And I just smiled and hugged them because they were such a genuine friends.
I quickly freshened up and went to classes and the classes started but Keifer was nowhere to be found and I was about ask Calix since he was Keifer's roomate, but the professor was looking at me so I couldn't but slickly managed to send a text to Kiefer asking about his where abouts but the texted wasn't delivered and I started worrying a little and I don't know why, because we just each other this morning and we were together the whole night, what could have happened in the short while of getting ready and coming to the class and the classes was going on but I wasn't listening and my thoughts were around Kiefer.
Finally when the class ended, I turned to Calix and asked, " Calix, do you know where Kiefer is?"
C: " Jay, he came only when we were leaving the dorm, I don't know where he is now"
J: " okay , I will try calling him"I tried calling him but it was switched off , So I asked Calix if he could check in his dorm and tell if he is there and he said "Okay"
After few minutes, I got a call from Calix saying Kiefer is not in their dorm.
I could not understand where he would have gone, I tried calling him again but still it was switched off, It started to overthink a little what if something bad had happened to him and it made to panic a little, I went our room, because I felt helpless and don't know how to contact and I started pacing in the room, that is when Sara came and asked, "Girl, what happened why do you look so tensed ?"
J:"Kiefer is missing and is not picking up my call"
S:"Maybe he is just busy with some other work"
J:"But his phone is switched off from the morning and he is not in his dorm "
S:"Girl maybe he just had some important work, he will return he is not a kid but if he doesn't return within tomorrow, we will see what we can do, now just come and eat, you haven't anything properly from the morning "
I know what Sara said was right but I still couldn't stop worrying but I went to eat dinner half heartedly because Sara forced me to. I barely ate the dinner and we came to our room after that and again I tried texting and calling Kiefer but it was no use, since there was no response. But as Sara said I should wait till the morning, I lie down in my bed and tried to sleep but my thoughts started to wander around him.
(Flashback)
And I start to remember last night when I woke in middle of the night, I noticed I was sleeping leaning on Kiefer's shoulder and his arm was around me protectively and I look into face and started to think, "Kiefer, do you know something, I am terrified of love, It is one of things that make me run away from people, whenever I try to show someone it always ends in them breaking me apart, but you are making it look so easy, you make me want to fall in love but I am scared if I start loving you, maybe you will realise how broken I am and leave me , I am not ready to face that kind of heartbreak Kief, That's why even when you show signs that you like me , I ignore them silently but being with you feels like home and peace which I have never felt in my own house and that why it scares me more because you have the power to take them away anytime . That is why I never let anyone in my heart, but you are slowly creeping in even if I don't want you to "
I smiled and looked at his face and realized even if I don't want to admit it, It is true I am starting to fall for you Kiefer.
(Flashback ends)
A little tear struck my eye as I was remembering yesterday's happening and my sleep was far away. Soon the sun came up and I tried calling Kiefer again but there was no response and I was sitting around helpless, that is when Sara came to me
S:"Still no response from him?"
I nodded a no and tears were threating to fall from my eyes
S:"Girl, don't cry wait let me see what I can do"
I have a friend who is a hacker let me try to find about his whereabouts
A little hope creeped in me when Sara said that, and she returned after few minutes
S:"He is not able to find out where he is but I got his home address and parents number. We can try calling them "
J:"Okay, can you ask David to call his parents, because I think it will be weird if we did"
S:"Okay, I will tell him"
