Jay's POV
We both settled down on the floor, while he started boiling the water and I was searching for movies to watch in his laptop while eating
J:"Do you have any preference"
K:"I'll watch anything with a good storyline"
J:"Romcom?"
K:"Sure"he said with a smile and he came and settled beside me with the noodles and handed over mine and we started watching the movie while eating, soon we finished our food and our plan was to go to sleep after that but since the movie was interesting we ditched that and continued watching the film.
Author's POV:
The silent sound from the laptop was still present, while these two started sleeping halfway into the movie resting their heads together and something about that screamed home and peace.
In the morning Kiefer's mom woke up and went to Kiefer's room to see if he is awake, she knocked on the door but there was no response so she went inside and was amused to see her son sleeping with Jay and his arms around her while she is comfortably resting her head on his chest, that scene filled her heart with warmth and she was really happy that her son has found someone who he wants to hold onto and fight for and she wanted to cherish this moment so she quickly captured a photo of them and went out with disturbing them.
Kiefer's POV
I woke up when the sunlight hit my eyes and then I realised my surroundings, Jay was sleeping in my chest and my arms was around, I did not know when we slept and how we ended in this position but it was such a beautiful scene to wake up and I wanted it for the rest of my life, I know I sound greedy for someone who didn't confess his feeling yet but I am going to do it soon and then we can enjoy this movement and when I came out of thoughts I saw Jay moving and I realised she was awake and pretending to be asleep that's when I realised that she is feeling a little shy waking up like this and I understood and slowly removed my hands and made her lie with a support of pillow in her back and I got up and went downstairs to get chocolate milk for Jay.
I went in the kitchen saw my mom and dad cooking together, they were cute and I started heating the milk when my mom started
Kiefer's Mom: "Did you sleep well?"she asked with a hint of teasing in her voice
K: " Yes, Mom" I replied smiling thinking how I slept last night
Kiefer's Dad: "Did Jay sleep well, because you know this is a new place ?"
K: " Yes dad, I think she is still sleeping and she might wake up in a few minutes that's why I am making chocolate milk for her"
Kiefer's Mom: " I think there is something weird in my phone, can please check?"
She handed me the phone and I looked and was schocked , it was a photo of Jay and I sleeping this morning and I gave them a reaction of getting caught and both of them gave me teasing smile
Kiefer's Dad: "So that's why you slept well" said in a funny way
Kiefer: " We were just watching a movie and fell asleep like that nothing happened"
Kiefer' Dad: "Whatever you say kid"
Kiefer's Mom: " Jokes apart Kief, I think you both are really what each other need I think, I means if she is comfortable enough to sleep around means she feels safe around and I hope you always make her feel like that and You to look like you have someone you can rely on, So cherish this"
Kiefer: " Yes Mom, I will make sure she'll always feel safe and peaceful around me and I am thinking of confessing my feeling to her"
Kiefer's Dad: " Yeah, you should do it soon, so that I can officially call her my daughter"
We all smiled together
I went up with the chocolate milk upstairs to my room and I noticed she wasn't there and I went and knocked in her room she opened her door and it looked like she just freshened up and I handed her the milk and she took it from me and I said, "Come soon after taking shower, everyone will be downstairs" I did not talk about yesterday night because I saw how her cheeks were flushed and I did not want her to feel shy.
After that I went to my room to take a shower and went downstairs to see all three of them seated in the dinning table and I admired them because the most important persons in my life getting along and laughing with each others makes my heart warm, maybe this what I wanted all along, a big happy family.
