Alice's POV
I spent the night on a cold concrete floor with my knees pulled to my chest, staring at the ceiling and trying not to think. The other woman in the cell snored loudly, and every hour someone walked past, their footsteps echoing down the hallway.
I didn't sleep, not even for a minute.
When morning came, a guard opened the cell and called my name. "Hale. Your lawyer's here."
I stood up slowly, my whole body aching from the floor. The guard led me back to the same interrogation room from yesterday, and Antonio was already there, looking tired but determined.
"Alice," he said, standing up when he saw me. "How are you holding up?"
"I'm fine," I lied.
"We're getting you out," he said. "The bail hearing is in twenty minutes. Bryan posted bail already, so as soon as the judge approves it, you're free to go."
"How much?" I asked.
"Two hundred thousand," Antonio said. "But don't worry about that right now. Let's just get you out of here."
