Alice's POV
The door opened, and Daniel stood there. He looked terrible. Thin and pale, with dark circles under his eyes. He'd aged ten years in the few months since I'd seen him.
"Alice," he said quietly. "I was wondering when you'd come."
"We need to talk," I said, my voice cold.
He stepped aside to let us in. The apartment was a mess. Empty bottles everywhere, papers scattered, clothes on the floor. It looked like a place where someone was falling apart.
"I know why you're here," Daniel said, sitting down on his couch. He didn't offer us seats. "You found out about Sterling & Cross."
"You helped them frame me," I said, standing in front of him. My hands were shaking, but I kept them at my sides. "You took money to destroy me."
