"How was your weekend, Silas, Peter?" Ned asked as he met the two Parker boys at the school gate.
Silas answered first. "It was pretty good. How are things progressing with you and Kate?"
As soon as Ned heard this, his mischievous eyebrows raised again. "Focus on the target, sir!"
"..." Peter was speechless. Was his friend really that skilled in this area? Should he ask Ned for some tips?
Silas was also surprised that the chubby Ned was so bold and making such quick progress.
A Dorm Room at School
"Thank you, Mr. Kline." Professor Connors hugged Kline.
Kline hugged Professor Connors back, then released him. "I used my position to get you a place in the dorms, but you can't stay long. You can stay at my house after the renovations are done."
"Thank you," Professor Connors thanked his friend sincerely.
He and Kline were high school classmates. Their relationship was very friendly, and they remained in contact even though they hadn't attended the same university. When Professor Connors was in trouble and had nowhere to go, Kline was the first person he thought of. Fortunately, Kline was a high school teacher and could use his position to help him find this temporary shelter.
"I'm off to teach now. I'll bring you lunch from the cafeteria at noon. What would you like to eat?" Kline asked.
Professor Connors quickly replied, "Anything is fine."
"Alright, goodbye." Kline closed the door and left.
Listening to the footsteps fading away, Professor Connors quickly went to the door, locked it, picked up his briefcase, placed it on the table, and click! opened it.
"A new life begins." Professor Connors smiled, as if he could already see himself stretching out his hands to embrace the sun.
Holding the syringe in his mouth, he opened the test tube with his single hand, and the lizard serum was drawn into the syringe.
"Phew~~" Professor Connors tried to calm his nerves, aimed at his vein, and injected the lizard serum.
Professor Connors put down the syringe. Everything was calm, as if nothing had happened.
"What's going on..." Just as Professor Connors spoke, a sharp pain shot through his stump!
"Agh!" Professor Connors quickly stuffed the pre-prepared white towel into his mouth.
Professor Connors's face flushed red, and his veins bulged. "Mmmph!"
But his missing arm began to grow at a visible speed. In less than five minutes, a complete right arm had fully grown!
"My right hand..." Connors trembled with excitement. His shaking left hand stroked the newly grown right hand.
He succeeded! This wasn't a fantasy; it was reality!
"Ah!" Professor Connors hadn't realized that the mutation, which seemed to have ended, was just beginning.
A violent aura emanated from him. Sheets of green scales, like bamboo shoots after the rain, erupted block by block.
His hair was completely replaced by scales. His original height of 1.8 meters ballooned to 2 meters. A thick tail swept out, knocking the furniture behind him flying.
"No!" The Lizard (now called this after mutation) cried out in agony, clutching his head and falling to his knees.
The Lizard panted heavily, slowly stumbling to the bathroom mirror. He looked at the reflection of himself. CRASH!
The Lizard punched and shattered the mirror. He was not reconciled! Why did he turn into this monstrous form?!
BANG!
Relying on his immense body and strength, the Lizard burst out the door and roared as he rampaged down the dormitory hallway.
It was class time for the students, so there were almost no people wandering in the dorm hallways.
Silas and Peter, who were attending class, suddenly felt their hairs stand on end, sensing a dangerous presence.
"What's happening?" A feeling of dread washed over Silas. Something's wrong!
Silas immediately looked around. The classroom was as usual. The teacher, Kline, was lecturing at the front. Everything was quiet.
"Ah!" Just then, a sudden commotion broke the silence.
"What's going on?" Kline walked out the door to investigate and saw a tall, humanoid lizard in the hallway not far away.
"Run! Kids!" Kline immediately turned back to tell the students.
The students were all stunned. What was happening?
But then, the Lizard arrived!
"Aah!" Students began to panic, scattering and running everywhere.
Silas realized why he had felt uneasy—it was the Lizard!
"Run!" Kline grabbed a chair and hurled it at the Lizard.
BANG!
The Lizard slammed his head into the chair, shattering the wooden seat into pieces.
Silas took this opportunity to grab Misty, who was still dazed, and ran out the door.
"Kline~" the Lizard growled in a low voice.
Kline was cornered by the Lizard and asked fearfully, "You... you know me?"
The Lizard shook its head, raised its hand, and prepared to tear Kline apart with its sharp claws.
SWISH!
A web line wrapped around the Lizard's hand, pulling him away. BAM! He crashed into the teacher's desk.
"Go!" Peter arrived. His class was in front of Silas's, so they were the first to encounter the Lizard.
Luckily, the Lizard hadn't caused any damage there. Peter had used the opportunity to quickly change into his new suit in the restroom. His new suit was a tight red and blue costume, with spiderweb patterns and a spider emblem on his chest.
Silas hadn't made a move until he saw Peter arrive. Kline was a good teacher, and Silas would have saved him, even if it meant exposing his abilities.
"Where did this bug come from!" The Lizard ripped the wooden board off himself and hurled it at Peter.
Peter quickly dodged to the side, but the Lizard seized the opening, grabbed Peter around the waist, and squeezed him tightly.
"So fast and strong!" Peter tried to pry open the Lizard's hand but couldn't.
He had seen the Lizard's attack just now, but his body's speed couldn't keep up with his mind's reaction, and he hadn't dodged completely.
CLANG!
A shuriken struck the Lizard's smooth head, sparking brightly against the glossy scales.
"ROAR~" The Lizard turned to see a man in black standing there.
"Hey! What are you doing here! Argh!" Peter waved at Silas, but the Lizard tossed him like trash into a nearby bin.
Silas was no longer as relaxed as before. His fully tensed body indicated that he, too, was struggling.
The Lizard's stats were not inferior to Spider-Man's!
And with the rule that Blackening increases power by three points (a common trope), Silas wondered if he should blacken himself now.
"Another trash bag?" the Lizard mocked. Since Silas was wearing a black suit, the Lizard likened him to a trash bag.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
One after another, Shadow Ninjas began to emerge from Silas's shadow.
Peter also got up at this moment, jumped next to Silas, and said, "Dude, I think we need to work together."
"Agreed," Silas replied with the dual-voice of his mask, ensuring Peter wouldn't recognize him after just a few words.
"Your voice is really cool, man~ It sounds exactly like a villain on TV." While Peter was still complaining, the Lizard launched his attack.
The Lizard charged violently towards Silas. Since they couldn't win a direct confrontation, Silas and Peter instinctively dodged in perfect synchronization.
BANG! BANG! BANG! A line of Shadow Ninjas was hit and dissolved into black mist.
"I can't fight at this high level~" Silas thought internally.
"Got him!" Peter's web shooters, on both wrists, stuck to the Lizard's hands, and the two began a tug-of-war.
Silas immediately rushed to Peter's side, grabbed the web line, and helped pull the Lizard toward them.
The Lizard saw this and simply used their combined pulling force, charging headfirst toward them.
BOOM!
Silas and Peter were struck in the chest by the Lizard. The impact force, weighing tons, directly smashed through the ceiling. A few students who hadn't evacuated from the upstairs classroom fell through the hole.
Peter, enduring the pain, quickly shot webs to catch two students in mid-air.
The other two students were caught by Shadow Ninjas and carried to safety.
"Ouch~" This was the first time Silas had been injured since gaining his abilities.
