"What was that?"
A few minutes passed before he shook his head, and that alone made one of my eyebrows lift in irritation. You're wasting my time, babe.
"Nothing. Just forget it," he said.
I leaned closer to him, close enough that he had no choice but to step back.
"What was it?" I pressed.
Suddenly, he lost his balance, falling off the bed before scrambling up and running away like his life depended on it.
"What the—"
Slowly, I turned toward the mirror and studied my reflection. My face wasn't frightening. Not at all.
I was beautiful.
So what was the problem?
I shook my head and let out a long sigh, brushing the incident aside.

"Solar! Where have you been? I've been looking for you everywhere!"
I almost forgot about Charlotte. But then again, she probably enjoyed talking to those lunatics earlier.
Because I didn't.
"Oh, I fell asleep in the guest room," I said sheepishly, rubbing the back of my neck. "Sorry for leaving you behind."
