If I said no, I'd be doomed either way.
"So?" he pressed. "Why can't you answer?"
I lifted my gaze to meet his, my expression turning serious enough that it made him pause.
"Why do you even care?" I asked flatly.
"What?"
"You've never cared about me," I continued. "Your attention has always been on that girl."
He smirked.
God. What a jerk.
"It's fine," I added, forcing a calm smile. "I've already accepted it. I'll forget what I feel. So don't worry."
I turned to leave—but froze when his hand suddenly wrapped around my wrist.
"Just like that?" he asked. "You're going to forget me? I thought I was special to you."
I frowned at him, disbelief flashing across my face.
"That's what you wanted," I snapped. "You told me to forget you. What, do you want me to stay stupid forever?!"
The moment the words left my mouth, I stiffened.
He smirked again.
Shit.
I forgot to pretend.
"Is this the real you, Solar?" he asked quietly.
"W-what do you mean?" I stammered.
