In a dimly lit room, there were three figures. One short and tied to a chair, the other two taller figures were standing infront of him with differing expressions.
"Dai! Tell us who sent you! Was it Eris? Did she come for us too?"
One of the figures said with her face dangerously close to William's.
The other figure pulled her back before coughing.
"Now now, Violet, we can't just bombard him with questions."
A light groan of pain would suddenly come from William as he looked behind him... Was that a knife?
"How you about you just tell us why you're here?"
How did he end up in this situation..?

A few days ago...
William was sat on a chair, his eyes intently staring at the two files infront of him, thinking of the best way to accomplish the task given to him.
Something then buzzed in his pocket. He put down the files on a table and then pulled out a phone, seeing a notification from his message app.
Miss Farah had given William his own phone and even an entire apartment, all for his own convenience and to ensure that he could do his job.
The message came from Miss Farah, the only person in his phone. She seemed to want to ensure that he's satisfied.
「If you need anything else, just tell me」
With that, a feeling of guilt filled William. He was already essentially freeloading, he couldn't even possible ask for anymore. Almost immediately, he typed a response.
「I'm fine, Miss Farah, I can't bother you more than I already have」
After that, William put down the phone, looking around the apartment. It was already fully furnished, of course he couldn't ask for more, what could even ask for that he didn't already have?
With a sigh, his eyes focused back on the files on the table. He looked up both of them on the internet already and only then did William learn some things.
First of all, Violet Crayson, named the most talented acrobat of this century. Not only that, her Conviction—Protection—was something that he couldn't even believe was possible.
From what he knew, she could make anyone she wishes to be essentially invincible. Even if it's just one person at a time, it's still insane. Apparently she can also do some impossible feats that outright break the laws of physics.
"Why can she do a backflip and a frontflip at the same time? How does that even happen?"
What's more shocking to him was what she was involved in. Something that not a single person—aside from himself—would ever forget.
Five years ago, the general public learned of the power hidden behind their beliefs, the power governments all over the world had hidden, this was when Convictions had been revealed, this night was named—
The Night of Dance
In just one night, the entire world went into anarchy because of a woman named Eris Orestia. It was the very night that the general public learned of Convictions, causing them to finally snap
Apparently, Violet alone calmed down the entirety of the North America, making her incredibly popular in the west.
There was also four others who calmed the other four continents. Asia and Oceania had a giantess named Verena Àrnadóttir, Europe had a former government official named Val Legato, and the other two... They definitely got his attention.
South America was calmed down by none other by Eris Orestia herself, the main culprit for the problem itself. Apparently, she even took over the prison she was held in before doing so.
He also saw a mention that Arin Castro was the Warden of said prison. He immediately questioned it but his attention was caught by something else...
He opened his phone again to a headline, with someone familiar as the main focus. With a sigh, he read the title out loud once again, like he hasn't done so so many times.
"Hogaamin Farah brings a stop to the anarchy in Africa..."
Africa was hit particularly hard by The Night of Dance, many countries falling into anarchy. While others had already found their footing, Africa was still burning.
Miss Farah had calmed such a place down, even if it took longer than the other four.
William couldn't help but gain even more respect for his boss, I mean, who wouldn't after figuring out that your boss was essentially a war hero?
He then flipped to the next file, much less information, which made him even more tired.
"Gray Crayson... Male... It doesn't even have his Conviction."
All the file has on the brother of the most famous Conviction-Bearer in the world was simple facts, like his job and ethnicity. His past was nothing—which was also the same for Violet.
William would then switch the tab to a post on social media. It was a schedule for the Unmatched Big Tops, and lucky him, they were coming to London like Miss Farah said.
He has about five days to prepare for it, so he'll need to learn as much as he can about them and maybe even get to see the Conviction of Gray, even if Violet was definitely the face of the circus.
Without any hesitation, William restarted his researched through the web. Maybe even learning more about stuff he doesn't know about the world, like the races Miss Farah mentioned.

40 hours later...
William is now oh so tired, his eyes twitching and begging for rest as he continued researching even when his phone was also on life support, literally, it was charging while being used.
He was also writing everything he learned in a booklet he found in one of the drawers, probably from Miss Farah.
From all the things he learnt, there were definitely several stand outs. The races, how several places were straight up destroyed by Conviction-Bearers, how Conviction-Bearers rose up to power, and a mafia.
For the races, there were Giants, Animalistics, Huddlers, and Hybrids.
Giants were essentially giant humans who hold supernatural physical abilities. Growing up to 11 feet and being able to easily break through solid walls.
Animalistics were people with animal features, one of these for example would be Miss Farah with a Lynx.
Huddlers were the shortest race, only growing up to 5 feet at best. They are great at teamwork and coordination, almost having a hive mind-like communication. They also have innate charisma.
Hybrids were a mix of two or three of these races, like William himself. Which explains why William looks... Bland.
The places that were destroyed... Over ten cities and the entirety of Canada. The most memorable one was Paris, burnt to the ground by a single girl who didn't even have a name.
Canada was also turned into a nuclear wasteland because of a clash with the Heart Breaker against Verena Àrnadóttir. Even with the lost of an entire country, Verena didn't catch the so called Phantom Thief.
The most unbelievable thing he found out was that Poland's government was completely changed thanks to just two lesbians.
There was also another thing, directly related to the Crayson siblings, or at least he thought it did.
The Crayson Mafia.
Just as William went to look for more information, he felt his body finally giving up. He took a deep breath before placing his phone down beside him.
"I guess I'll rest... I'll figure more things out tomorrow."
The back of the tired amnesiac slammed into the bed before yawning, his eyes slowly closing, finally getting some rest.
