Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Searching for an Island

Chapter 31: Searching for an Island

At the top of Ring Tree Island, Luo Han saw the hopeful, trusting eyes of everyone around him.

A weight settled in his heart. He made up his mind—tomorrow, he had to find an island and rescue everyone.

"Alright! If we find an island, then everyone will leave together. If we can't… we follow the previous plan.

Now! Go back home and talk with your families. Understood?"

Uncle Witt spoke after seeing that everyone had calmed down a little.

"Luo Han, Cole—meet at Qingya Cliff tomorrow morning!"

He then addressed Luo Han and Cole, who stood at the front of the group.

"Understood!" Luo Han and Cole responded in unison.

After that, everyone began to head home.

Once the crowd had dispersed, Uncle Witt and Uncle Kate walked off to the side, staring out at the ocean.

"Watch Luo Han closely tomorrow—don't let him fly too far. I don't think he's in a good state today.

If we really end up only evacuating part of the people, he knows Grandma Mo won't agree to leave," Uncle Kate said seriously.

Uncle Witt stiffened slightly and replied, "Sigh… We all know how close Luo Han is to Grandma Mo. I'll keep an eye on him.

If it really comes to that, we may have to forcibly take her with us. Hopefully, people will understand."

Hopefully, the two thought as they looked out at the sea.

Back home, Grandma Mo was still waiting at the dinner table.

"Grandma! I'm home. You should go to bed soon," Luo Han said as he hugged her.

"Hehe! Alright, alright!"

"By the way, how did the meeting go tonight? Did you come up with any solutions?

Xiao Han, if it comes down to it, don't try to play the hero. You have to think of the island's future, okay?"

Listening to Grandma Mo's stream of concern, Luo Han's resolve to find an island and get everyone to safety only deepened.

"Don't worry, Grandma. We've got a plan. Tomorrow I'll go with Uncle Witt to look for another island.

Once we find it, we can all move there and start a new life away from Ring Tree Island."

"Hehe, that's good to hear! Just be safe out there tomorrow, okay?"

She patted Luo Han's head with a gentle smile.

"Mhm! I will. You should go to sleep now, Grandma."

"Alright, alright. Grandma's off to bed now. And you, don't train too late tonight!"

Her eyes were full of warmth as she turned to go to her room.

Luo Han nodded, then returned to his own room.

After eating the Rainbow Fish, Luo Han lay on his bed and began that night's session of spiritual guidance for body evolution.

As he consumed the energy, his physical talent evolved rapidly. His body continued to resemble the super-giant eel-like Sea King more and more. He could feel the density between his cells growing, packed with energy.

His toughness, strength, and agility had all improved—this evolution seemed to favor strength and speed.

Feeling the dazzling aura stored in his body, Luo Han grew eager. Hurry up and evolve!

With his body strengthening and spiritual guidance in effect, Luo Han noticed something else: his telekinesis had also improved.

He could now exert much greater force with it!

Hopefully, everything would go well and he could get everyone off the island before the Scaled Fruit matured.

...

Morning came before the sun had even risen, the sky still a hazy gray.

Luo Han met up with Uncle Witt and his son at Qingya Cliff, where they found Uncle Kate already waiting.

"You're here. Let's head out. Cole, you and Uncle Kate search in this direction from Qingya Cliff.

I'll take Luo Han and go the other way," Uncle Witt said.

"Got it. Let's hope we both bring back good news," Uncle Kate said, glancing subtly at Uncle Witt.

Then Cole transformed into a giant Kun, and whoosh! Uncle Kate leaped onto his back, flying off from the cliff.

"Let's go too, Luo Han," Uncle Witt said.

"Mhm!" Luo Han nodded.

With a thought, telekinesis wrapped around both of them.

Whoosh whoosh! Luo Han flew the two of them in the direction opposite Qingya Cliff.

The wind whistled past their ears. They soon reached an altitude of 6,000 meters, twenty kilometers above Ring Tree Island.

A few white clouds floated nearby.

From this height, Ring Tree Island looked no larger than a speck. They couldn't go any higher, or they'd risk losing sight of it altogether.

"The Divine Tree sure picked a spot back in the day," Uncle Witt muttered, his emotions mixed as he scanned the vast emptiness. Nothing surrounded them—just the lonely island in an endless sea.

Luo Han took note as well. They needed to fly even higher to check more thoroughly.

"Uncle Witt, wait here. I'll go higher and keep a telekinetic link between us.

I won't get lost. My spiritual sense can still reach the island from up there."

"Alright. I'll watch the island from here," Uncle Witt agreed.

It made sense—he would stay lower and maintain visual contact with the island, while Luo Han could search more broadly from above.

Luo Han rose higher, soon reaching 12,000 meters.

No good! The air was getting too thin—he was starting to feel dizzy. Any higher, and he'd risk blacking out.

From up there, he could already see the curvature of the sea.

But his heart sank.

In the One Piece world, weather was chaotic and unchanging. Some areas were permanently covered in cloud.

From where Luo Han stood, all he could see was an endless ocean. The parts he couldn't see were obscured by thick, immobile cloud cover.

He'd have to fly forward to investigate further.

Returning to Uncle Witt, he said, "Uncle Witt, I didn't see any islands from above. We'll need to go further out."

Uncle Witt looked at the island, then said, "Let's just keep going in this direction—don't change course.

If we do, we might lose sight of the island."

"Okay! I'll fly slowly so we can always keep the island in view."

Luo Han agreed—it would be risky to change direction mid-flight. Better to explore this area thoroughly before making any decisions.

"Let's go, then," Uncle Witt said.

They flew about 20,000 meters forward before stopping. At this point, Ring Tree Island was barely visible—any farther and it would disappear completely.

Then Luo Han flew upward again to scan the horizon—but once again, no sign of any island.

"What the heck?!" Luo Han muttered internally. Is the One Piece world this unreasonable?

From this altitude, he should've seen something. Instead, just ocean—or unmoving clouds.

Luo Han was frustrated to the point of wanting to curse, but all he could do was sigh.

Still… those immobile clouds far off in the distance—they sparked a thought.

In the One Piece world, clouds that remain in the same spot often indicate the presence of an island beneath them.

Maybe… just maybe—that's it! Luo Han thought, growing excited.

He quickly flew back to Uncle Witt.

"Uncle Witt! I think I may have found an island! You see those clouds that don't move?

There might be an island beneath them—let's go check it out!"

Luo Han's voice was full of excitement.

But Uncle Witt didn't look happy—instead, he glanced at Luo Han with concern.
